“Life beats down and crushes the soul and art reminds yo that you have one.” Stella Adler

Where Did It Go?

Where did it go?
I only left it for what seemed
like an enlightenment,
of course, we've been busy,
and O so clever without it,
that equation to solve,
the cake in the oven,
a friend on hold,
like an untended garden,
overgrown, forgotten,
life gets tangled without it,
feels like a can blowing down
the street, empty of meaning,
disconnected from its content,
as if our eyes are no longer a window,
the orphan soul needs unboxing.
