ARTICLE OF THE WEEK.

31 Oct

iainlawson27's avatarYOURS FOR SCOTLAND

This gentleman contacted me last week asking how he could help my blog. He kindly enclosed his reasons for supporting Independence. I thought his reasons deserved a wider audience. Jim is 82 so he wants to see Independence soon. Sitting about is not an option. Jim is from Livingston, he has supported Independence for 64 years.

Why I Support Independence for Scotland

My name is Jim. I am 82 years young and have always believed that Scotland should be an Independent Nation. I feel as strongly about it today as I did 64 years ago. Now, however, I find I want it even more for my children and grandchildren than I do for myself.

Decisions about Scotland’s future must be made by the people of Scotland. I believe that an independent Scotland should, of necessity, have a written constitution. At the heart of any constitution would be the protection of…

sparing a thought for Michael

31 Oct

weegingerdug's avatarWee Ginger Dug

it is noe

I’ve been sparing a thought for Michael Gove, The insensate Tory one and not my stroke affected leg, that is. The leg is responding to therapy, Tory Michael, is however beyond help.whether human or divine , he’s currently having some problems setting up his new union unit as the civil service have told him that it’s not the job of the civil service to pump out uncritical pro-Tory British nationalist propaganda in order to achieve the political goal of defeating Scottish independence, That’s what the BBC is for. the news of Michael’s wee setback comes on the same day that a new poll was published showing that support for independence enjoys a healthy 12% lead over the forces of nawbaggery. So that is why, charitable soul that I am, I have spared a thought for Michael from my hospital bed in the stroke rehab ward. because unlike…

“THOUSANDS OF RUSSIAN SOLDIERS TO HELP CATALONIA WIN INDEPENDENCE FROM SPAIN”

Diarmuid Breatnach

(Reading time: 5 mins.)

In the midst of an arrest operation on Wednesday of 21 people for alleged misuse of public funds to assist the Catalan independence movement, the Spanish State issued a statement alleging that Russia had offered the movement 10,000 Russian soldiers to aid their struggle. It wasn’t the only Russian connection to the Spanish police operation, which they had named Operación Volkhov.

The arrests this week form part of measures by the State against Catalan independence activists since 2017. That year, a coalition of pro-independence political parties and a huge grassroots movement in Catalonia pushed for a referendum to vote for or against an independent Catalan republic, which the pro-Spanish union opposition called on people to boycott. The Spanish State sent its police to raid Catalan regional government offices, confiscate ballot papers, search for ballot boxes (unsuccessfully) and, on the day of the Referendum…

MORE QUESTIONS THAN ANSWERS.

This is the email all SNP members were sent to explain where the “missing” almost 600K that was ring fenced for Indyref2 . My Comments follow after.

Net balance sheet £271k

Cash 97k

I want to be fair so I have started this blog with the email sent to members yesterday in response to the mounting questions being asked about the almost 600k in ring fenced donations for Indyref2. I have reproduced it in full and without any alteration.

It does however unfortunately raise more questions than it answers

  1. It does not explain under what heading or headings the restricted funds are held under. There is a good reason for this.
  2. It states the monies are “woven” through the overall income funding each year. I am sorry but that is an admission the money is being used for everyday SNP activities, which was specifically…

WHEESHT FOR INDY

WHEESHT FOR INDY

So the SNP ACCOUNTS for 2019 have finally been published. I don’t think anyone is surprised they are not in the healthiest of states. There are loads of questions but I think the main one is where has the hundreds of thousands of pounds that were raised on the clear commitment that the funds would be ring fenced for Indyref2 gone?

As Wings pointed out if by some miracle Boris Johnston relented and decided to grant Nicola her Section 30 order then there is no money available to fight it. As Wings stated they have more money available for the battle than the SNP appear to have despite many hundreds of thousands having being donated for that specific purpose.

Now I have seen some SNP loyalists/ apologists suggesting, that against the 500 year old rules of accountancy and reporting, the missing money might be safely tucked up…

Douglas Ross’s meal deal

28 Oct

Great to hear you managed a few steps.

weegingerdug's avatarWee Ginger Dug

empathy, human decency, and basic self awareness, but no one could ever accuse him of lacking a brass neck, Douglas is the kind of guy who would piss through your letterbox and then chap on your door to ask you how far it went. Yesterday, for reasons of its own, the Scotsman decided to publish an article penned by Douglas – or rather by his press officer which set out in nauseatingly fake blokeish terms how ‘fitba loving Douglas and his Scottish Tories are completely behind the footballer Marcus Rashford’s campaign to ensure that kids living in food poverty receive free school meals during the holidays, by completely behind he means voting against it when it came to a vote in the Commons, and then adding for good measure that the Scottish Tories will vote against it the next time it comes to a vote, this is a very odd…

INDEPENDENCE IS NORMAL

28 Oct

INDEPENDENCE IS NORMAL

Is an statement that is meeting increasing agreement in Scotland. Rightly so, indeed it is long overdue.

A well educated, resource rich, nation like Scotland needs to fully recognise just how ABNORMAL our current position is. Nation after nation has successfully unloaded outside control from London over the decades, none have ever applied to return.

With good reason, life is better when you make your own decisions, when you fully control your own assets and resources and can control your economy in your own Parliament where your priorities, not others, are top of the agenda.

I try to look at it from a business point of view. Was there a point anywhere in my working life where letting another company take control my own, take charge of my clients, my money, my staff would ever result in any great benefit? The answer was no, nobody cared like…

THE EXECUTION OF NATIONAL COUNCIL

27 Oct

iainlawson27's avatarYOURS FOR SCOTLAND

AT A STROKE IT WAS GONE

I remember when I first joined the SNP I was elected to National Council and attending my first council and being hugely impressed at how transparent and democratic it was. Here was a forum where delegates could question the most senior office bearers on any aspect of their responsibilities, and in the main the responses had to be made publicly there and then, to an audience of thirty elected members and also delegates to National Council from every branch and CA in the country. The remainder of the meeting was taken up with policy discussions and other operational matters. It was real communication between the leadership and the members and that communication went in both directions.

It put enormous pressure on the leadership, it met quarterly so there was regular scrutiny of how you were performing in your role. Internal Party elections were held…

dead leg’s union units

26 Oct

weegingerdug's avatarWee Ginger Dug

leaverschoice

hat The Conservatives have realised that Scotland has decided that its future is as an independent country, and secondly that they don’t have the foggiest idea what to do about it. Over the weekend The Times newspaper reported that the big idea is to set up a ‘union unit’ headed by the dead leg of politics, Michael Gove we shouldn’t be surprised since we already knew that the Tories were a bunch of units. What is surprising however is the gobsmacking cluelessness of people who can only succeed in their declared goal of preventing Scottish independence by dint of persuading Scotland that they are more capable, intelligent and clued up than anything that we could provide for ourselves, instead they are delivering a political Masterclass in the dictum that it is far better to keep your mouth shut and risk being thought a fool than to open your mouth and…

WHAT A TANGLED WEAVE ?

26 Oct

iainlawson27's avatarYOURS FOR SCOTLAND

This is an article I was sent by a friend. It is from 2017 but I found it very informative and concerning. I was not aware that so many of these economic advisors were working inter party. I thought my readers might find this information of value. I was astonished recently by the suggestion that Gordon Brown and Alastair Darling should be involved In any Independence negotiations, even more so that it was being suggested they should be on Scotland’s side. Who have you been talking to Andrew Wilson?

Who really runs Scotland and the UK Parties

The elite who really run Scotland, Mariana Mazzucato, Joseph Stiglitz, Anton Muscatelli, Lady Susan Rice.

With growing evidence every political party in power in Scotland is working together to dismantle our entire democracy, we now find the so called opposing political parties in Scotland and Westminster are using the same “people as…
