Benihana

We went to Benihana's for lunch today. We went as a late celebration of Rich's birthday. We had a good time, the food was great and the kids were entertained the whole time.

Father and sons

This weekend was Father and Sons so the boys went away and Sadie and I had a quiet night of shopping and movies. I gave Rich the camera and told him to take pictures for me. He took four pictures, which is pretty good for him.
Blake all bundled up. They said it was freezing up in the mountains that night.

Around the camp fire.

Here is there tent all set up, too bad they didn't use it the whole night. At 3:00 in the morning I heard the garage door open. I went down stairs to see why they were home so early. Blake started coughing really bad and ended up throwing up because of it. They came home slept for a few hours before heading back up for breakfast and packing up the stuff. It was a long night for Rich and the boys they were worn out.

Lion King

Grandma Rauch bought the whole family tickets to go see the Lion King. We left Sadie and Logan at home knowing they wouldn't be able to sit through the whole play. Before the play we went out to Red Robin for dinner with all the family.

Breckin, Brendan, Blake and Ellie before the play.

Rich, Julie and Blake. We had a great time. The play was amazing and the kids loved it and were at the edge of their seat during most of it. Thanks so much Grandma!

Tooth Fairy

Blake had his first loose teeth. Both his bottom teeth became loose at the same time. On Thursday May 20th the first one came out.

Here is Blake's first tooth he lost.

He was so excited. Blake was able to pull it out himself and it didn't hurt him.

He was so excited for the tooth fairy to come. Blake asked so many questions about the tooth fairy. He carefully put his tooth under his pillow.

Blake usually sleeps on the bottom bunk with Logan, but tonight he wanted to sleep in his bed. He actually didn't want Logan to sleep with him because Logan would play and keep him up, then the tooth fairy would not come. We told him that we would move Logan if he played (which he did and we had to move Logan back to his bed.)

The tooth fairy left Blake $2.00

Blake was so excited he woke up at 5:00 in the morning! As you can see he is still tired and the flash was too bright for him.

Two days later on Saturday night after his bath Blake pulled out his second tooth. He said this is bothering me and went to the mirror and pulled it out. He turned to me and casually said, "Look my tooth."

Checking out his new smile.

Blake had fun looking at his missing teeth and I had fun watching him.

Blake's second tooth and another $2.00 from the tooth fairy. We then told Blake he should pay tithing. Blake is starting to understand the concept of money so we thought it would be a good time for him to start to pay tithing. At first he said he didn't want to and that he was too young to pay tithing. Rich told him it's not that much and show him how much he needed to pay. Blake was fine with it after that and excited to fill out his tithing slip. He thinks the paper is so cool because the writing shows up on the other slip of paper. It has been a fun weekend for us as we hit a new stage of loosing teeth. We now have Blake loosing teeth and Sadie getting her first set of teeth.

Our Fish

Today we went to our cousins Ellie and Carson's birthday party. It was a carnival theme so at one of the games they each one a goldfish. The boys were so excited to have a fish. After the party we went to the store and bought fish tanks and food, but of course they wanted another fish. So I bought them each another fish. I told the boys not to feel sad if the fish dies because fish don't live long. The lady at the pet store told me that they actually live a long time. We will see how long they last in the Rauch home!

Here is Logan with his two fish. It is a miracle that they are still alive. On the way home he started shaking the bag and tipping it upside down! He was Darla from finding Nemo. (Hence my little pep talk to the boys about fish not living very long) But, the brave little fish survived and Logan loves them!

Here is Blake with his two fish. His little grey fish he named Rocket. The orange and white one is named Swimmy. Blake keeps asking if we can buy more fish and more decorations for the tank because his tanks is boring. But he loves his fish and loves feeding and looking at them.

Perfect Shot

This morning I was away speaking at our Stake Women's Relief Society Conference and Rich was home with the kids. When I got home Rich told me about an event that had happened while I was gone. I was on the floor laughing when he told me what happened. I then had them play out the event for me. I am still laughing. What happened was Blake was at the top of the stairs with his Nerf gun trying to shot at the balloon that was stuck on the ceiling. Rich was downstairs on the floor changing Sadie's diapers. Blake shoots the gun and the bullet comes down and......

lands on top of Rich's head!

Rich says it was the perfect shot and even if they tried it couldn't happen again. Too bad the video camera wasn't running.

We all laugh so hard and now enjoy sticking bullets on Dads head!

Rich's Birthday

Today Rich celebrated his 35th birthday! I felt bad I had a Relief Society meeting that night so we didn't get to go out. The boys and I decorated the kitchen with Dodger baseball stuff. Rich wanted brownies so we put a Dodger sign and baseball candles for him. We had brownies before dinner, but then the kids were invited to a friends house so poor Rich ate dinner by himself. I feel bad his birthday was a bummer, he was so good about it and said he had a great birthday. We all love Rich so much, he is so much fun to be around and works so hard for our family. Happy Birthday!

Pillows

Today the boys made a box with the pillow.

Logan sat in his pillow box and watched TV. So fun being a kid.

Pop Top Contest

The Fontana Police Department has a contest between all the elementary schools to see who can collect the most pop tops. The police department collects them and donates the money to The Ronald McDonald house. Blake had asked family members to help collect these pop tops. So all the ladies at Grandmas work and his Aunt family have been helping Blake collect pop tops for his school. Well Blake's school won the competition for the second year in a row. This is pretty exciting because his school is the smallest in the district with only about 400 kids. The best part was the police and firemen came today and put on a special assembly for his school. We brought our whole family to come watch.

The police brought four of their birds and showed us some tricks.

The firemen put on all their equipment to show the kids what they looked like and sound like with everything on. They did this so if they were in a fire the kids wouldn't be scared of the firemen.

Then they turned on the water on the firetruck.

They loved seeing how far the water went.

Then the police put on a special demonstration of a high speed chase. They blocked off the rode by the park and the police were chasing a van down the street to the park. The police helicopter came out and followed the pursuit. When the car stopped the bad guy jumped out of the van and the police dog tackled him down.

They told us their was another bad guy in the van with a hostage, so the SWAT team came speeding in. Blake thought this was so cool all the SWAT guys were hanging on the back of the van as it drove up. Then they all pour out of the van and lined up. Blake called the SWAT guys army guys.

The bad guy came out of the van holding his hostage Mr. Baker the school principle. The bad guy fires his gun at the police officers.

The SWAT fire back and shot the bad guy. A smoke bomb is thrown, the SWAT team come in and Mr. Baker is freed.

Here is the police dog that took down the bad guy. It was a really cool assembly all the kids loved it and so did we. Now we need to start saving our pop tops again for next year.

Sadie 10 months

Sadie now is ten months and full of energy. She learned how to clap. She loves saying hi and giving lots of kisses when we ask for kisses.

We had to put up our gate since Sadie has now learned to climb the stairs.

She loves standing up and is starting to walk along the furniture. She sometimes cries when she stands and can't figure out how to sit down.

She is into EVERYTHING. Sadie's favorite places to play are by the DVD player pushing all the buttons, grabbing things on top of the table, she love playing with our printer and has shut the computer off on me and of course playing with the remotes and phones.
