Ahhh, my long lost blog. Where have you been? What have you been up to? Absolutely nothing? Yeah I thought so. You'd think that after I have a kid I would blog like crazy, but no, not me. I've completely forgotten about this thing! But thank you Liz for reminding me that I really need to update, since my kid is already 6 months old and I haven't blogged once since he's been born. So much has happened that I don't even know where to start, so maybe I'll just do a brief rundown of some things that we've been doing, for journaling purposes, and do a slideshow of pics. Then maybe I'll be better at updating in the future... yeah right!! :)
Well, I had Dylan on May 27th, and of course we didn't do much until he was about 6 weeks old. We had his blessing at home, which was awesome! It was a really cool experience and Bryan gave him a beautiful blessing. For the 4th of July we went up to Santa Barbara and watched fireworks on the beach. We bundled Dylan up and made sure we covered his little ears and cuddled him close so the sound wouldn't be too loud for him. It was a lot of fun... but tons of people! Dylan has been to the beach about 6 times or so already! It was fun going with the girls in the summer a few times and with family and friends that visited us. We love the beach! A couple of weeks ago we went up to Avila (sp?) Beach and Pismo and had Dylan walk in the sand. He was such a happy little guy! Let's see, what else??? ... Oh yeah, we also went camping up by Lake Cachuma for a weekend. It was kinda fun, but it was really hot and there were TONS of flies, so it made it kinda miserable. Next time we take Dylan camping it will be at a better place. :) It was a little rough, but he was a trooper. For Halloween, Bryan and I didn't dress up, but Dylan was a white tiger. He looked so cute!! We didn't do a whole lot though, just went to the trunk or treat for a little while, but at least we got some pictures. Dylan went to his first concert about a month ago... Kings of Narnia!!! It was an acoustic concert so it wasn't too loud for him. For those who don't know, Kings of Narnia is a local band with some young men from our ward in it. Go KON! :) A couple weeks ago, Bryan and I went to a Clippers game with Randy and Kelly and Danny and Steph. We left Dylan with a babysitter for the first time (besides my parents). He cried the whole night!!! I felt so bad! But hopefully he got that out of his system and will be better next time. For Thanksgiving we layed low this year. It was just our little family. Dylan was asleep when it was time to eat, so Bryan and I were able to enjoy a turkey dinner with just us. It was actually really nice to relax and take it easy, especially since Bryan has been working his butt off every day for the last 2 weeks, working on his parents house, trying to get it ready to rent. He definitely needed the break. Dylan has been so great! He really is a good baby. I can't complain at all. He just recently started eating baby food, so that's a new and fun adventure. And he is so much fun right now! He laughs a lot and is starting to have such a cute personality. His smile is very contageous. I love it!! He makes us smile everyday. He is such a blessing in our lives. I'm so greatful for him, and for such an amazing husband who is awesome with Dylan and is so good to me. I am very happy with my life! It's definitely not always easy, but sooooo worth it! Well, that's about it for now... until next time, whenever that may be. :)

Struggler!!
Ok I'm ridiculous! I've gotten worse at this whole blog thing! I thought I would naturally get better and better, but no. Not so much! Thanks to Steph, I'm finally updating, even though I have no idea what's been going on lately. I've been very forgetful and air headed lately (they say it's the pregnancy, so I'll go with it). I've forgotten to feed the dogs, put stamps on a pile of mail at work, and half the time I can't even remember what I said five minutes ago.
So let's see how I do at remembering what's been going on... Ok, so last month Bryan and I went to Utah for a quick weekend trip. His mom and grandma were so nice and threw me a baby shower with family and friends I never get to see anymore. It was so fun to see everybody. I'm so grateful for everyone that came and for the beautiful gifts for our little guy. It was very sweet. It was also Bryan's birthday on the 26th. I took him to breakfast that morning before work at one of our favorite breakfast places. And that night he just wanted to order pizza and have cake and ice cream. It was fun just to hang out. We even got to sit in the Bryce's hot tub, which was awesome.
Besides that kind of stuff, we've been trying to get ready for the baby to come, which has been fun and crazy. I'm so indecisive, so that definitely hasn't helped. But we finally got a crib up and bought bedding and have moved things around, and picked out a stroller. We're also trying to redo our hall/guest bathroom. It's quite the project, but we're getting there. For the last month or so, we've had our friend Jon (a guy Bryan works with) living with us, so Bryan has been working on the bathroom and stuff when Jon goes to Indiana to be with his family. And this month we'll be having Bryan's 17 year old cousin and her friend staying with us for 8 days too, so we will have a house full. But it will be fun! Bry has been working his butt off with everything going on, poor guy. He's such a sweetheart! I wish there was more that I could do to help. I can only do the little things, unfortunately, being huge and 33 weeks pregnant. Seriously though, I can't thank Bryan enough for everything that he does for me and for us and for others. It's awesome. He definitely keeps me going. Anyway, that's about it I think, at least that I can remember. And someday I really will post some pics of our Cancun trip. I totally get the Ultimate Struggler award!!!

Cancun or bust!!
Last week Bryan and I got back from our last little vacation before the baby comes (I guess it's called our Babymoon). We went to a resort in Riviera Maya, which is south of Cancun. It was such a good trip! The weather was awesome, the ocean was turquoise, clear, and warm, and the resort was beautiful. It was so nice to just go and relax. Bryan has been so busy at work and it's been kinda consuming his mind, so this was a much needed break. I will post some pictures soon. And speaking of Bryan's work, just for the record, Bryan hasn't gotten any I.O.U.'s for paychecks or anything, thank goodness! I know there has been word going around that he has, but, thankfully, he hasn't. We do know of some state employees that have received at least one, unfortunately. But Bryan doesn't technically working for the state, he just represents the state when inspecting projects, so his paychecks do not come from the state. Thank you to those who have shown concern for us though. :)
Ok, I have to give Bryan some mad props for a second... Over the weekend Bryan took me out for my birthday, which was totally fun. While we were out, he took me to get a pedicure, cuz it had been awhile since I had gotten one. But not only did I get a pedicure, he sat right next to me and got one too! It was so awesome! I loved it! I had joked with him a few times about coming with me to get one, and he always said he would, but I knew he was never too thrilled about the whole thing. But he was such a sweetheart and did it with me. He even said he would let them put colored polish on if I wanted them too. I spared him that, poor guy, and just had them put a clear top coat on. It was alot of fun and he was totally cool about it. He's so awesome like that! So yeah, I just have to give him some props! Also over the weekend we got our third-trimester ultrasound which was really cool. It's crazy to see how much our little guy has grown and to see the 3D images! My parents were able to see it too so that was fun. They're excited for their first grand baby. He's gonna be a spoiled little guy between my parents and Bryan's! Oh yeah, my little brother also got engaged on Saturday, which is way fun and exciting too! SO, Congrats Chaise and Erika!!! And also, one more thing, I have to say thanks to some awesome friends for the Ice Cream Sundae Sunday! It was awesome! I think that's about it,... for now.

Blessings in disguise

Ever feel like you're a major failure? Cuz that's how I'm feeling lately... Let me explain how my day went today. I had to be at work a little early today to open the doors for the massage therapists because the doctor I work for won't be in the office all week, and he's normally the one to open all the doors, etc. Well I can't get out of bed this morning cuz I had a horrible night's sleep, so of course I'm running late. To get to work early I need to leave at 7:25. Today I left at 7:35, which would put me right on time to work, maybe a couple minutes late depending on traffic. So I already feel bad because I've got patients coming into the office at 8:00, and I'm supposed to be dependable... Yeah, well not today. Well as I'm driving to work and I'm about 5-7 minutes away, I start to merge onto the 101 freeway from the 23 and everyone is moving pretty slow. I found an opening to merge over, and just as I did, the car in front of me decided he wasn't ready to merge yet and totally stopped. So I totally tagged the back left of his car!! My first accident! And I think the guy hit someone else too but they took off when they saw the CHP officer, which is kinda interesting, but good for me! So anyway, the damage on my car was enough that I didn't dare drive it, so a tow truck had to come out. And one of the massage therapists had to come get the keys from me , which made her late for her appointment, etc, etc. I felt so bad! Well my stomach was totally in knots and then I remembered, "Hello! I've got a baby in my tummy! I hope he's ok!" I felt ok, but Bryan and I both decided I should go get things checked out just to be safe. I called my doctor's office and they said to go to a hospital and get monitored. So off to Los Robles I go. They asked me what happened and how far along I am, and if I've felt the baby move. I told them I'm 24 weeks along, but haven't felt the baby move yet, that I know of. They were like, "Wait, you're 24 weeks and you haven't felt the baby move? Have you been to a doctor lately?" Ok, they totally freaked me out! Cuz I was already feeling like a bad pre-mom since I hadn't felt him move yet. I've been feeling like I haven't been paying enough attention or something. I have felt no real connection with him yet and it makes me sad. So anyway, they took me up to a room and monitored the baby. While Bryan was down filling out paperwork (he's such a sweetheart by the way), and the nurse was doing whatever she was doing, I was able to sit and relax and listen to the baby's heartbeat and stuff. As I was sitting there, I saw my stomach move a little bit and I really felt him move!! He was moving all over the place! It was so awesome!! I guess I just needed to sit and relax and concentrate for a little bit. It's just funny that it took a really crappy experience for me to open my eyes and remember that everything happens for a reason. And sometimes Heavenly Father blesses us in very unexpected ways. I feel very blessed!

So much has happened, yet nothing at all...
Wow, has it really been a month since I last posted? I guess I'm totally THAT girl! How lame! And I haven't even blog stalked anyone either. That's crazy. Oh well. Ok I'll try to go through some of the stuff that's been going on lately, if I can remember. A few days before Christmas, Bryan and I went to have my full ultrasound of the baby, which was awesome. And, we are having a BOY, just like Bryan thought. We're totally excited! We just bought him a little outfit for the first time over the weekend. It was a trip! We've kind of been slacking and haven't bought one thing for him yet, until now. Maybe it still hasn't set in yet. I don't know, but we should probably get on that!
Over Christmas we went to Utah to see Bryan's family and my brother. It was tons of fun! It was actually kinda nice to be in the cold weather and snow for a change. We loved it. It was so pretty! Bryan got stuck in the snow twice while driving. It was way funny! Luckily some nice people helped us out. Our drive there and back was pretty uneventful though, which was good. We missed the storms that were going through. It was so much fun to see family and friends that we don't get to see very often. Good times!!!
Let's see, what else has been going on... hmmm... I peed my pants again, so that was fun. :( I'm just glad it's only happened twice. Yea!! Oh yeah, I almost forgot! Last Thursday, Bryan and I got to go see Wicked. It was amazing! We got totally lucky that night because all the tickets were sold out, since it was ending on Sunday, so we put in for the raffle to win front row tickets for $25. There were over 500 people in line to put in for it, and they called my name! It was so crazy! I never win anything! It was awesome to be able to see all the details of the costumes and set and cast. Both of us loved it. What a cool experience! But yeah, I think that's about it for now. Oh and one more thing... I think we finally decided where to go for our little vacation... Cancun (well at least in that area)! Yea! We can't wait!

Wow It's Been A Long Time!!

I'm officially the worst blogger ever! But what can I say, things have been really busy. My cute little brother just left on his mission on Wednesday, so we've been up at my parents' house a lot spending time with him and the fam. I didn't realize how hard it would be to send him away for two years. It was very bitter sweet. But he's such a good kid and I'm so proud of him. So, in the midst of all that's been going on, I feel like I haven't had time to get anything done. I haven't even put any Christmas decorations up! How lame is that?! I guess I'm a scrooge this year. Maybe I should work on that tonight, since I'm sitting here doing absolutely nothing! On a different note, Bryan and I have been trying to figure out somewhere to go on a little vacation before the baby

Triathlon
Well, Bryan and I just got back from our triatlon in St. George. It was so awesome and I'd totally recommend it to anyone. It's the greatest feeling crossing that finish line after all the time and effort you put into it, knowing that you just accomplished something. I beat my time by five minutes from last time I did it, so I was stoked about that. And I didn't freak out on the swim like I did last time. I felt so much better! And Bryan totally rocked it! I'm so proud of him! Stephanie and Danny, and our friend Mike did it with us and they did so good too! I have to give a shout out to them cuz they did awesome and it was so fun to do it with friends. Now my big challenge is keeping up the exercise and not getting lazy. We'll see how I do on that one. But I think I'm on board to do this triathlon again next November, if they still do it. I would love to do the one in April, but I'll be huge and uncomfortable and awkward, so that probably wouldn't be the best idea. :)
