While doing some shopping yesterday, we stumbled upon Winnie the Pooh. Since Steve has wonderful memories of his own Winnie the Pooh, he insisted on one for the baby. In case you can't tell, Steve's 30 year old bear is on the left and the baby's is on the right. I'm ok with the bear but Steve, I'm sorry to tell you, we aren't doing a Winnie the Pooh theme for the nursery. So to our sweet little baby, we're anxiously awaiting your arrival.

Winnie the Pooh
While doing some shopping yesterday, we stumbled upon Winnie the Pooh. Since Steve has wonderful memories of his own Winnie the Pooh, he insisted on one for the baby. In case you can't tell, Steve's 30 year old bear is on the left and the baby's is on the right. I'm ok with the bear but Steve, I'm sorry to tell you, we aren't doing a Winnie the Pooh theme for the nursery. So to our sweet little baby, we're anxiously awaiting your arrival.
Decorating the Christmas Tree
Some would call decorating your Christmas tree on November 8 a bit early but I call it good planning and efficient time management. I have had a vision of decorating my own tree for a while and I couldn't take the wait any longer. Give me a little credit though, I would have put up the tree in September if social norms said it was ok but I held off. The theme I decided on is silver and blue. Steve was wonderful to carry the tree and decorations to my perfect location. Of course, he had to tease me first but a pregnant woman gets what she wants. Oh wait, Annmarie always gets what she wants. I figured if I felt well enough to put up the tree, I should go for it since those days have been few and far between. I'm still thinking some extra ornaments are in order and luckily I still have time for that.

12 Week Checkup
Friday was our 12 week checkup for the baby. We decided to do the early Down Syndrome test which meant another peek at the baby. I still have to wait on the blood test but everything looked normal with the ultrasound. Mom was able to join me for the appointment. Her first time to an ultrasound and I'm sure she enjoyed the chance to see grandbaby #9. The baby was kicking and stretching and letting that heart beat at 171/bpm. Even though the Dr. visit went well, I had another scare a few days earlier. Steve had been on travel all last week so on Wednesday, I went with a co-worker to pick up a take out order. I couldn't have been in the car more than 15 minutes with him. On Thursday, he calls from home to say, "Oh by the way, I was diagnosed with chicken pox." When was the last time, you heard of a 30+ year old adult say such a thing. Luckily, I had chicken pox as a child but the Dr. says I could have lost my immunity. While at the Dr., I also learned that I'm not immune to German measles. Heaven help me if I run into someone with the measles. I might just strangle them.
