A Brighter Future, A Brighter Now
It feels as though I have been away from WP for a long time – Hello again, it is nice to be back here! The truth is, I have wanted to write for a long time – I have had thoughts buzzing around my head, but the idea of sitting and writing them into a cohesive piece seemed like too much effort. Winter took a real toll on me, with low energy and mood, and I quite literally ‘withdrew back down to my roots’. Then, with the turning of the year into 2014, FLIP! – It was like a switch being flicked in my head.. suddenly, for no apparent reason, I found more energy, I felt inspired, plans formulating in my mind, my heart opened…. all through no conscious effort, no decision, no doing on my part. It was like a natural biological happening. I am happy and thankful this, and it is odd, as we are still in Winter… and yet psychologically it feels like Spring to me. Perhaps it is the idea of a whole New Year ahead of me, fresh, new beginnings to play with and time enough to make them happen… perhaps it is the time passed since the Soltice, the drawing away of the dark nights and the Sun is calling, “I am coming! I am on my way!” As a Pagan & one sensitively attuned to the rhythm and beat of each season, and one who did indeed celebrate and honour the Solstice, I can well believe this could, indeed, be the case.
2014…. ah, I welcome you! So far every day – every day – has been calm, easy-going, free of stress, and, wonder of wonders, plenty of time. Having ‘enough time’ has been something I have struggled with. I have felt I am always rushing, always struggling to stay on top of things, always worrying about time, time, time… and suddenly, here I am, with apparently more than enough to get things done. Relaxed – that is the word for 2014! I am, mentally, spiritually, physically relaxed. Where has this extra time come from? Nothing has changed in my life since the end of 2013! I do not know, but I am very, very thankful. I feel like I am in a warm slip-stream, flowing with effortless ease.
To emphasise the fact that 2014 is a good year, I have had some physical manifestations of goodness: a friend of mine whom I have given Reiki to, and who was having a very tough time indeed, told me that shortly after the Reiki session that her whole situation turned around and her life transformed. I was so happy for her, and happy that I was a part of that process. This was a good sign of things to come!
Also, I finally finally found it – My Silver Star bracelet, as ‘given’ to me in a vision by Araianrhod. It is not exactly as I saw in my vision, but close enough – plus I found it on a street stall in my own city, rather than online or in a chain store, which feels much more meaningful. That I have found this bracelet means a great deal to me, it feels like the completion of an important task, and a step forward… to what next, I do not yet know, but I am ready and willing to see!

Another special item that I have acquired is this beautiful piece, which was a christmas present from Neometheus. It is flexible material and can be worn on the wrist or the upper arm. The Serpent, gold and green, has several connections and meanings for me, and I would love to be wearing this all the time, though alas it is not practical. The gold-and-green colouring is physically akin to my own Snake animal Totem. The piece reminds me and feels like a connection with my Celtic (Spiritual) ancestors, a people I have long regarded with awe and inspiration. So to gain two pieces of meaningful jewellry at the start of the year is a special and significant thing for me.

I have plans that I want to initate for my Reiki business, I want to further develop my Spiritual/Shamanic progress and knowledge, other projects to begin… ah, so many wonderful things to do and plan and learn and become! Yes, I think, I hope, I believe that 2014 is going to be a very good year!
I have another blog article lined up, thanks to a question from a fellow blogger and dear friend, Linda at Litebeing Chronicles, regarding the essence and fundamental meaning of Guardian/Spirit/Totem animal guides. I have always simply taken for granted their Being-ness and help, but I have never sat down and thought about the logisitics and reasons for their presence. Linda has raised an excellent question, that I am currently in the process of thinking carefully about, to put into a cohesive and understandable explanation. Hopefully I will be able to publish this soon.
I hope your 2014 has started well, your comments and queries are always & as ever, welcome. And, in the meantime, just in case it may be of interest to you, I shall leave you with this….

Update: A short message
Hello all,
Long has been my absence & I apologise most sincerely. Much has been happening recently…
Since my found freedom – quitting my job & starting my business – my Spiritual path has moved on apace. I really want to blog about everything that has happened so far, but by the time I got through the – absorbing, understanding, processing – part of what has happened to me, I began to get quite busy with my business… And then got hit by a yucky cold, under which I am currently suffering!
SO, please be aware that a lot of information will be coming your way soon… as soon as I have kicked this cold into hyperspace!
In the meantime, I’d like to share this little picture & message that I (with my partner’s help 🙂 ) created.

How to keep grounded – a meditation
Keeping grounded, centred and balanced is very important, especially in today’s busy, hectic world.

We are all so very busy, doing all the jobs that need doing, helping out friends and family members, worrying about finances, work, our health… so many things take up our thoughts and our time, that it is easy to lose sight of what is important, and what is right in front of us.
Doing a ‘grounding’ meditation can help us let go of our fears and worries, and help us to concentrate on the present as well as what is important right now. Grounding can also help us come back to the everyday world after we have had an energy healing session, which can leave a person feeling floaty, light-headed, and spacey. In this case, the healer should help to ground the recipient by finishing the healing session at the feet, bringing up earth energy which helps to connect the recipient literally to the earth, reducing that floaty light-headed feeling.
However, it is important for healers to keep themselves grounded, as they are working with high and light

energies. It is also a useful practice for when we are feeling we are doing too much, or cannot concentrate on present issues, problems or events. Grounding helps us to be fully present, to feel balanced and whole, and to see situations around us clearly, with reduced emotional response, which then helps us to make a clear, rational, thoughtful response appropriate to our current situation.
Grounding Meditation
Sit or lie somewhere comfortable, ensuring you are somewhere you feel safe, relaxed, and at a time when you won’t be disturbed. Concentrate on your breathing for a while, allowing all outside thoughts to float away, like clouds passing through your mind. When you feel that you are deep within yourself, you can begin to draw on the earth energy.
Imagine your body has roots that connect you to the earth…. Feel your roots travel down, down through the floor of the building, through the concrete pavement, connecting with the land, down through the soil. When you can see this or feel this, hold that impression, making it firm and clear in your mind. You are rooted to the earth, you can feel the soil, the plants that share the soil with you, and the trees. See your roots entwining with that of the plants, or mushrooms, or trees: whichever feels appropriate for you. Enjoy this sensation, stay as long as you feel you need.
From here, you can ‘come back’ – bring your roots back up, slowly, gently, back into yourself, become aware of your body again, then your breathing, and slowly, count yourself back awake (“3…2…1… awaken now”). This is the simplest way of grounding, and is a fairly short meditation if you don’t have much time, or much practice at meditating.
You can take it further, however, continuing the meditation from that point of connecting with the earth: imagine energy coming up from the earth, travelling through your roots, up your body from your feet, up to your base chakra. Take this slowly, ensuring you can really feel (or imagine) the earth energy travelling up, feeling its movement through your body. Feel it fill up your base chakra, then move on to your sacral chakra, stopping again until you can feel the earth energy connect with the chakra. Continue doing this all the way up your body, with each chakra, until the energy reaches the crown.
Now, imagine the heavenly chi, or energy, that comes from above and is drawn downwards through the body. So, at the top of your head, imagine a white light, that comes down from your head, again connecting at each chakra. Here, at each chakra point, starting with the crown, imagine the heavenly chi combining with the earth energy at your chakra: see them turning your chakra into something similar to the yin-yang symbol, and beginning to spin. Once you are satisfied that you can really see this image, and see your chakra spinning with both energies, move the heavenly chi down your body to the next chakra point, the throat. Do the same thing at each chakra, slowly moving the heavenly chi all the way down the body, down your legs and through your feet.
Once you are happy that the energies have combined, and each has gone from feet to head and head to feet respectively, then bring your roots (if you haven’t already done so) back up from the earth and into yourself. Ensure your aura feels close to your body at the head – that you have not left your crown chakra open. See your aura as close all around your body.
The meditation is complete. Take your time waking up, rest for a while, ensuring you are fully aware of your body and your breathing. Tensing and releasing each muscle helps to bring you back to the present fully and gently. Open your eyes slowly, and rest for a bit before getting up.
Personally, I have had great success with this particular meditation. At times when I have felt frazzled, empty of energy, or emotional, this grounding meditation has helped me ‘come back to myself’ – that is, reinvigorated me, rebalanced my physical feelings and emotions, and helped my concentration on focus. I hope it helps you, too.

What’s it all about? What you may know is that the government are looking to tighten up controls on pornography sites – great, whoo, well done. WHAT HAS NOT BEEN MENTIONED IS THAT INCLUDED IN THIS CAMERON IS LOOKING TO BAN ANYTHING RELATING TO ‘ESOTERIC MATERIAL’.
Yes – you saw that right ANYthing that could be covered under ‘esoteric’. This includes Reiki – just when I’m gearing up to set up my Reiki business!! – Possibly Paganism, Wicca, Tarot, and anything else that HE deems can be filed under that one rather large umbrella.
WHERE DOES IT STOP?? WHAT WILL BE NEXT??
AND WHO IS HE TO DICTATE TO THE COUNTRY WHAT BELIEFS THEY CAN SEE ON THE WEB??
This is very very concerning, and you can probably guess from my tone that I am extremely angry about this. This is, to me, a step towards a Stazi state. It is frightening. I know many beautiful healers, wonderful souls who simply want to help others with the gifts they have. If this goes ahead – imagine the impact – healing Facebook pages, web blogs, pod casts…. thousands of sites will be restricted, banned, or whatever Cameron feels like doing with them!

The Mundane and Not so Mundane
This post is going to be a bit of an eclectic mix, because of life’s happenings recently, the way I’m feeling and the way my brain is working. I promised myself when I began this blog that it was going to be an on-going account of my life as experienced from the Spiritual along with every day ‘normality’. I have struggled to write anything at all recently, because of the way I have been feeling, but now I want to write, to explain, describe, and reach out to you, to explain my recent experiences.
My doctor did some blood tests on me after I went to see him about my emotional ‘meltdown’. The tests came back absolutely fine – in fact, the doc said that they were the best blood tests he’d seen in a long time. So, not anaemia, or anything else physically wrong with me. It was- is – all emotional/mental. What on earth has caused me, I wonder, to have ‘perfect’ results from the blood tests? I suspect that Reiki may have something to do with this. I can’t prove it, but there is no other reason I can think of that would cause this: I try to eat healthy, but I’m not obsessive about it, I walk a lot – everywhere, in fact, I don’t drive – but do no other exercise. I’m vegetarian, but so are a lot of other people. Yes, I do believe that Reiki, and meditation, have a positive physical impact, and even the idea, the possibility, that these mechanisms could be keeping me in good working order is an encouragement to continue using them.
Since then I have had my ups and downs – our break away helped a lot – but, again, the doc said that I am doing most of the work myself to get out of the negative cycle – more so than anyone else he has seen, and he ‘is really impressed with [my] progress’. Again, what’s the difference? Why am I able to do this in a matter of weeks, when others struggle? I believe there are a number of reasons for this:
– A strong, supportive family unit who I am able to reach out to, who understand, and are prepared to just listen to me, and/or help when it is required/needed.
– My own desire to not be dragged down. I KNOW it’s no good for me personally, and certainly isn’t good for my family, especially my young children. I don’t want them suffering.
– My ability and desire to express myself creatively. It is so hard to motivate yourself to do anything when you feel down, but just attempting to write poetry, stories – even writing in my journal, ranting – all this created a cathartic effect, helping to ease the stress and negativity.
– My Spirtuality/Spiritual beliefs. Even when I don’t feel motivated to ‘connect’ in any way, I know that my Guides, the Angels, the god and goddess, the Void, and Reiki energy are all still there… waiting in the wings, as it were. And just knowing this has given me strength.
I have been feeling much more positive and relaxed lately, and I’m sure the sunshine has had a lot to do with that. A wave of increasing energy – and also FEAR – FEAR that things aren’t ever going to move forward for me (Fear is perhaps THE greatest motivator to changing one’s life) has enabled me to continue a project that I put aside last year. An on-going project that demands my attention and full focus, and one that is positive and is filled with hope. Picking this up again has created a determination in me that I have not felt for a very long time. This has been its own magic in helping to transform me!
I also reconnected with the Angels and Araianrhod too, the other night. I thought it was about time. I wanted to honour both, for having visited me in their own ways and times, and also to ask a few questions of them. It was a simple affair, a meditation/trance state rather than anything lengthy and complex. I thanked the Angels for being with me, and asked them about creating self-love. About coming from a place of self-love, and to self-love. The idea of self-love is not a selfish one, for the way we feel about ourselves affects the way we act and behave, which then affects others. The answer I got back on this was, to not worry – it was being sorted. Excellent news!
I then turned my attention to Arianrhod. I Thanked her for ‘sending’ me to visit the sea, and to ask her, ‘okay, so what next? What happens now?’ I also wanted Her to know that I just wanted to acknowledge and honour Her, for Her appearance to me was a gift; a surprise unasked for.
Now I nearly wrote this as a separate post and indeed, it could be one. However I decided in the end that this is all part and parcel of my current journey and experience. This time I did not ‘see’ Arianrhod, but I felt her presence. My hands, resting in my lap, filled with a ball of energy. I had a vision of my arm, upraised, and a silver charm bracelet with silver stars dangling from it being placed on my wrist – yet another gift from this Goddess! I was truly humbled – what have I done to deserve such honour? I wondered. I sent out my heartfelt thanks, and was replied with the ‘idea’ of getting a book about Arianrhod.
It is as though She, the Goddess, is holding herself back from me, yet is telling me that She likes me. Why, I do not know. I feel like I am being led on a new path, or journey… Is she waiting for something from me? Or is she leading me towards something? She is a mysterious figure, one not easy to discover, but obviously, I need to keep working with Her to find out more. So, I have a direction: to find a book about Her. A task harder than it sounds.
Yesterday I took the time to do a Reiki healing on myself. I felt so much better afterwards, so clear and full of energy. And yet – today has been a low day. This has its own lesson for me…
Balance. Life needs to be lived: things have to be done. But healing (Reiki has an accumulative effect), working with the Goddess, and writing, are all ways of healing for me. And I need to incorporate them all in my life, in a balanced way, to continue improving, and get to where I SHOULD be.
