This is what insiders in D.C. never get. The intense frustration that activists on the Left feel with Obama doesn’t stem from the fact that he compromises. The frustration and sense of betrayal stem from the fact that his record indicates that he values getting to a compromise more than he values getting to a particular place with a compromise. Many people were led to believe by the President that fundamental change (Change™, if you will) was in the cards, and that we were getting a president who would stand up for working people and, God forbid, the poor, versus the school-yard bully. But instead, what we’re getting is a President who resembles Drillbit Taylor.
