The Decision To Do IV Antibiotics – Breakspear Update

Hello there,

I was planning to do a video all about this, but the last few weeks I’ve been feeling pretty terrible. I barely have the energy to talk coherently, let alone do it in front of a camera.   Plus I thought it would give me a chance to write a proper blog post, which hasn’t happened it quite a while.

As you can probably guess from the title of this blog post I’ve decided to do a course of IV antibiotics as the next stage of my treatment at Breakspear. I know many people will have many questions all about this, so I thought I’d answer them all here.

Treatment Update – Weeks 17 & 18

Hello there,

These last two weeks have felt pretty hectic. I started a new antibiotic, and although the side effects aren’t quite as bad as the last one, they’re still not pleasant.  Plus I had to deal with the first wave if herx’s, which involved a lot of very bad headaches, and feeling so exhausted I can’t do anything.

I also had 2 medical appointments; the first one was at the diabetes clinic that was very overwhelming and kind of scared me senseless, and the second at the hospital to have an ultrasound on my shoulder which although it was quick and painless, really took a lot out of me.

Treatment Update – Weeks 15 & 16

These last two weeks had a pretty bad start, I was forced to change my Breakspear travel plans because of a really bad herx, which was really frustrating. It was my 3 month follow up, which I’ve already written a post on, so I won’t go on about it.

Breakspear Update – 3 months on

Hello there,

What’s this? I’ve done and video thats not a treatment vlog! Crazy times.

Basically, a couple of weeks ago I had my 3 months follow up with my Breakspear doctor, and the video below is a summary of what’s got better, what’s got worse in terms of my symptoms, and what the next steps are.

 

 

I would say more than that, but I’m going to let the video speak for itself (no pun intended). I started a new antibiotic yesterday, and I’m in an extraordinary amount of pain at the moment, which I’m going to blame on a herx. So this blog post is short but, hopefully, sweet.
