Today
For Tomorrow
I displace Yesterday’s
Little pieces of note paper
Little snippets of memories
Little smiles of brief reverie.
I can go on forever
About the jokes I used to make
The things I used to say
To make them laugh:
They are enshrined on
Little pieces of note paper.
But yet today I will
Rid the space of the pieces
Of a time past and of memories
Lost to the hallowed shadows
Of days gone by;
(May they be sweet bygones)
Goodbye.
