More Holiday Fun

Tyler's Jazz Band put on a last hoo-rah concert before they all take off on their missions--it was fantastic! They even had Devin and the pianist's little brother, Dylan, play with them, making a band of four brothers. They were amazing!

The whole gang jammin'!

The Fab 5 Together Again!

Even though everyone was busy over the holidays, we were able to get together and catch up! Even though our lives are changing, (Jess is engaged!!!, Court is now married...etc.) we always have a blast together laughing and talking.
We can't ever pass up a chance to take a goofy picture--some things never change!

Temple Square

Riding the Trax up to Salt Lake--the boys like to make games out of anything--Here they are seeing who can stand in one place without moving while the train stops and starts. Where do they come up with these ideas??
Richard concentrating really hard...

Christmas Eve
The boys in their matching pajamas. Thanks Grandma!

Making Gingerbread Houses

Hmmm...I don't really know how to explain this one...

Our First Night Home

Murray Christmas Party

LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW!!!

Building a snowman-type-thing with my brothers...
not sure what it's supposed to be...it definitely didn't turn out looking like a snowman!

But we loved it anyway!

Our snow fort...yeah, it had not one, but TWO tunnels!
More pictures to come, just wanted to let you in on our adventures in Utah so far!
I hope everyone has a WONDERFUL Christmas!

I can't wait to fly over Salt Lake and see the beautiful mountains, the snow, the temple, MY FAMILY!!!! the street where I used to live, Ream's grocery store, Main Street with it's cute decorations, Brookside gas station....ok, so maybe not ALL of those things...well, actually, yes all of those things! I have missed everything about Springville, Utah and I can't wait to soak it ALL in!! Look out Utah, here I come!

Birthday Fun

So Richard is in the middle of his stressful finals, but he still managed to make this morning a great birthday morning for me! I woke up to him singing happy birthday ( a little too early, I might add, but he was so excited he couldn't wait any longer....ahhhh precious) then he lead me to the kitchen where he made my favorite breakfast--fried eggs, toast, and a banana/peanut butter shake (I know, I'm weird) But before I could finish my breakfast, he pulled me out of my chair and lead me to the first clue...yes, he made a scavenger hunt to my presents! I'll have to post the clues later, they are hilarious. I finally found my presents in our bedroom, by our bed, hidden under all of our pillows...they had been there all night! The funniest part was the fact that he had used our laundry basket to hold the presents, and he wrapped up the entire laundry basket so I would have more to unwrap! Then he made the bed, the lunches, did the dishes, and off we went to school! He is taking a final as I write this and I really hope the birthday preparations won't interfere with his test...he has studied and worked so hard!
Tonight he is taking me to my favorite restaurant: The Spaghetti Factory, downtown Louisville. Besides the Severe Weather warnings that were issued about an hour ago, and the fact that they are supposed to last for a couple of days, it has been a great birthday morning!

Speaking of Richard, this Gilmore Girls quote reminds me of him--he, like most guys, hates to get too close to other guys:

Rory: Guys, that was amazing. Really, it was awesome.
Dave: Thanks.
Zach: Dude, you did good, you really did. But you got a little too close to me when you were singing into the mike.
Brian: I got as close as I had to.
Zach: Your nose touched my cheek, man. That's too close.

More Gilmore Girls Life Applications

I like to do laundry...I know, weird, but I don't like having dirty clothes in the basket. It's just something I've grown up with, I guess. Well, Richard doesn't like to wash laundry until the washing machine is totally full, up to the brim. So this quote made me laugh:

Rory: This is just wrong!
Lorelai: What?
Rory: You washing two socks!
Lorelai: They were dirty.
Rory: That's wasteful.
Lorelai: I really wanted to wear them tonight.
Rory: They are your dancing Santa Claus socks. You're not gonna wear them for another ten months
Anyone else get confused reading this next one?
Lorelai: Well, I can't take it back to Yale.
Luke: I'm not storing your microbe mattress, forget it.
Lorelai: Well, then I'm stuck here.
Luke: Fine, because I need my truck back.
Lorelai: Fine, but that leaves you with the mattress.
Luke: I'm not taking the mattress.
Lorelai: Then let me take the truck.
Luke: But that means you take the mattress.
Lorelai: I can't take the mattress.
Luke: Then you can't have the truck.
Lorelai: But that sticks you with the mattress.
Luke: If you take the truck, it comes with the mattress.
Lorelai: I can't take the mattress.
Luke: Then you can't have the truck.
Lorelai: And that sticks you with the mattress.
Luke: We've been here before.
Lorelai: I recognize that tree.

Gilmore Girls Life Applications-School

Ok, I'm a tad bit on the obsessed side with Gilmore Girls. Richard absolutely hates it, and thinks it's the most annoying show in the world. So I am going to start posting quotes from Gilmore Girls that are applicable to life to show him how extremely useful and informative it is! First quote:
Rory and Marty studying for a test:

Marty: Okay. I remember something about Rome. Rome. Rome. Romans live there. Audrey Hepburn took a holiday there. It's the name of a B52s song.
Rory: Different Rome.
Marty: Okay. That's it. I can't remember. College is breaking my spirit. Every single day telling me things I don't know, it's making me feel stupid.

Did you ever feel like that while studying for a test? Well I DID!

Lorelai studying for a test:

Lorelai: Hey, I'm studying in there...
Rory: I know.
Lorelai: Yeah. I have, like, 6,000 pages of case studies to memorize and this whole big test on the Wal-Mart phenomena coming up on Friday and because I have a life and a job and business school's not the only thing I have to concentrate on I'm behind, and I'll probably fail and then that little 18-year-old annoying gnat who sits behind me will get another 'A' and make that 'I'm smart you're dumb' fact to me for the rest of the week and I'll be very upset and will possibly cry.
Rory: The music's too loud.
Lorelai: Yes.

Just for fun:

Lorelai: I'm gonna have pancakes with a side of pancakes.

Cutest Idea!

Ok, isn't this the CUTEST idea? My cute friend gave these to me for my birthday--she is so creative! I would never have thought of this! She just took paper and modge-podged it onto the clips, then added fun details...I love them!

Weekend

Here's what I've been up to this weekend (besides grocery shopping, cleaning, and catching up on laundry...) PROJECTS!!! Don't ask what the snowflakes are for...at work we spent the afternoon on Friday decorating the office with paper snowflakes and listening the Christmas music, and when I got home I had a hankering to make more! I have no clue what I will do with them now...

Christmas tags and pretzels--Lots and lots of pretzels!
