Might 🤔 Maybe

Maybe it grounds me a bit to be here at my nearby coffee shop. The fact that I think it might be excessive might be why I fear that it might be unwise. But reminder: even if it’s every day, which it is not, it’s still cheaper than therapy and drugs—with fewer negative side effects; other than unhealthy second-guessing and self-recrimination.

(A job can ground a person, too, but being retired, I would need to get a job and I’d rather not at this time. Enough already of 50 years of that for awhile!

Unlike a job, this allows me to write or draw or read. All those things can be done at home – and often are – but here I am not distracted by other home things to do and I can be in a more social environment.)

Anyway, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Until it becomes tedious instead of uplifting. Someday I might not care or I might become too old to do things independently.

Maybe. Maybe not.

This morning in the garden 😍👆 💧 💧

Carrots

From our garden!

So delicious and pretty

Not like the kinda musty carrots I find at the store

Grateful they grew

And there’s still more!

On the Brink of Summer

All the beautiful stuff
that comes alive in summer
Pulls me out of worry
and moves me into wonder
Mostly

In the Neighborhood

This just jumps out at me.

I like it!

It’s Not a Poem

It’s not a poem but it turned out to be delicious.

Minestrone Soup

Time after Thyme

We ran out of thyme
so we planted some more
Along with some parsley and basil and beans
We put all the pots just outside our back door
then stood back and simply
admired the scene

The lettuce is lush

and beautifully green
Tomato seeds, ah, at last they have sprouted
All prepared for the next step
I needn't have doubted
the longed-for and lovely
arrival of spring

A Little Sign of Life

The tomato seeds have finally sprouted!
I was starting to lose hope
Turns out I did not need to doubt it
Campari seeds know to cope
Time and sunshine
Water and warmth
Patience wins the day
Hurray!

Be Fruitful

Peachy.

Building a Spaghetti Sauce

Using herbs from our garden and zucchini from our daughter and our son-in-law’s garden, I got all inspired to make a sauce. Turns out this is really fun for me — and it’s always good getting caught up in creating something.
