Track & Field

Jake has really been into running lately. This brings me such joy. I have always wanted my kids to love to run as much as I do. I loved running track. So last night I was out talking to Tanya and when I came home Ryan told me Jake had run a mile on the treadmill in under 10 minutes. I was thrilled. Of course Jake wanted to run downstairs and run another mile. So this morning when I was on the treadmill Jake was chomping at the bit waiting for his turn. So again he runs a mile. I made him get off and get ready for school. He was a little bummed. I told him I would take him to the track later tonight when Dad gets home. So as promised we went to Timpanogas High track. The funny thing about this is the uniforms. They wanted to were my old uniforms from when I was nine (yes I still have them.) They were to big and they kept pulling up the shorts on the first heat. After Jake changed he ran a 400M in 1 min. 56 seconds. This is his new record. He ran the 100M in 22 seconds. He told me that he just kept telling himself "Never give up." He has more heart than anyone I know. My mom calls him his little Tiger Woods ( he thinks that is so "COOL".) Brooks was super tired tonight but he still managed to run a 400M in 3 min. and 18 seconds. He just wanted to wear the uniform. I love these kids so much I think I just might burst. I love to see them so happy. I wore my old red bandanna. I used to wear a red bandanna every track practice. Justin and Mel's came with us and she brought her spikes with her. So of course I had to time myself. Unfortunately I haven't improved since last fall. I am not sure what my deal is. I will have to try again in a few weeks.

I didn't want to make 80 new post so I put the rest of my pictures on Slide shows. While we were there we went to Universal Studios on Wednesday. It was so much fun. Kathryn watched Aubrey for me. It helped us out so much. We were able to really enjoy the park with the boys. On Thursday we went to Sea World. The Dolphin show was amazing. It was like going to a Vegas show with dolphins. You had Dolphins, acrobatics, and live birds. What else is there? Shamu was a bit of a let down after that. The boys sat on the front row so they could get soaked. They didn't, but it was still a blast. Jake and Brooks kept putting sunblock on themselves this trip. I don't know what the deal was. Jake was practically bathing in it. I guess they do listen to me sometimes. Tom Anderson came with us to Florida to surprise Jason Snyder. It was so nice having him there to help at the parks. It made a world of difference. My kids love Tom and they really enjoyed having him there. In Sea world they have a little title wave ride for little kids. Aubrey was panicked. She snuggled right up to her dad. She really was funny. She was so excited before it started and once it did terror set in. It was funny.

Florida 2008!

On Friday we went to Sea World's Aquatica.  It is an amazing water park.  It was crazy busy though.  I thought I lost Jake and I totally panicked.  Ryan thought I was crazy.  Brooks loved the wave pool.  He kicked waves for hours.  Aubrey kept eating the sand.   Jake just loved swimming with his goggles.

Universal Studios

The first ride we went on at Universal Studios was Terminator 3 in 3-D.  Brooks got so scared at one point that he screamed like a little girl.  He was trembling with fear.  I had to take his glasses off to show him that it wasn't real.   It was hysterical.  So after that ride we went to E.T.  He was star struck.  He was giddy.  He toted this stuffed E.T. around the rest of the trip.  It was so cute.
After we had scared Brooks we thought it would only be fair if we scared Jake.  Since Jake already has a fear of sharks, being that his Dad was bitten by one.  We took the boys on the Jaws ride.  Jake sat on the very edge of the boat.  At the end of the ride Jaws comes up out of the water mouth wide open with his enormous teeth glaring at us.  Jaws just so happen to come up on Jake's side of the boat.  I have never seen such terror in someones eyes as I saw in Jake's that moment.  We where laughing so hard we couldn't contain ourselves.  All he could say was "Is this real?"   He was so scared that after the ride he wouldn't stand by the fake shark in the picture.  You can still tell he was a little upset.  Great Fun!!

Seuss Landing is my favorite place in Universal.  I could stay there all day.  It is an amazing place to me.  No detail wasn't thought of.  This is Jake and I riding One Fish, Two Fish.  They Have a carousel and so many other amazing rides.
They were charging $22 for a picture with Sponge Bob.  So I had my boys run over and snapped it with my own camera for FREE.  What a rip.

Florida 2008!

Here we are on our way to sunny Orlando, Florida.  I was really dreading taking Aubrey on a plane for 5 hours and I had very good reason.  She wasn't as bad as I thought she was going to be.  I had envisioned her screaming and crying the whole way there.  She was just very busy, let's keep it at that.  The boys were fabulous.  The loved the drink service.

Once we got to the Snyder's it was Rock Band city.  We had never played it before.  Ryan was really getting into it.  We had so much fun with the Snyder's.  My boys wanted us to move to Florida.  There home is gorgeous.  They live 10 minutes from GREAT shopping and fun restraunts.  We ate at the Bone Fish Grill on Friday.  It was amazing!  Kathryn and I went shopping on Tuesday and both got some darling dresses.  I needed an extra suitcase to bring all my "good deals"  home in.  Next time we come they will have there pool and there will be no need to go to parks.

Brooks 4th birthday!

Let's see if this works. We had a great time at Brooks' 4th birthday party. He had a Star Wars party. Ryan and I gave him a purple and blue light saber. Her was so excited he was shaking. The boys have been playing with them ever since. Now that he is 4 he is acting so much bigger. He believes he can do so many things now. He could do them before, but now he thinks he can. He is such a sweet and loving addition to our family. He was so cute with Jake on his birthday. Jake really wanted the purple light saber so Brooks told him he could have it. I love that he is so willing to share. He really looks up to Jake and I love that. We are so happy Brooks' is in our family. I can't even tell you how much I love that little chunk-a-dunk (that is what we used to call him.)
