Happy Halloween!!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! I hope everyone had the most fun halloween ever!!! We did at the Remkes house. I hope everyones kids are still on sugar highs and you are watching their teeth decay right before your eyes, because all this is happening to me UGH!!! I tried to offer my kids $5.00 for their bag of candy but, they are not stuiped and did not take the offer...dang. But never the less we had a great time. Jaxon had a blast at school and Skyler was just in awww at everything that was going on and everything she was seeing.
I have to say I seen alot of really cute costumes this year and very creative, but I of course think mine were the CUTEST...of course!!! (My mom would say "every old crow thinks hers is the blackest" love you mom!!!)

Skyler was Abby Cadabby. For those of you who don't know Abby, she is a new Seasame Street character. She is a 3 year old fairy in training and she is darling.
This is Abby Cadabby:

Jaxon was:

Yes Yes Tom Brady. Not sure why we are Tom Brady or New England fans, but we are...GO PATRIOTS!!! I told him he should of wrapped his knee and walked with a limp, but he didn't get it. I thought it was funny LOL!!

He was awfully cute too. Jaxon was worried his candy bag wouldn't be big enough so we has to pack two the entire night.

Skylers big day!

I will never forget September 20, 2006. I went to work that morning 9 months pregnant. Nothing seemed to be out of the unusal. I did have a contraction taking Jaxon to the day care that morning, but didn't think anything of it. I got to work, I was the charge nurse that day, and by the time my wonderful friend Amy Mu got done with report I couldn't even see straight I was in so much pain...contractions every 2 minutes. After much debate between me and all my CPCU pals that morning I went over to Labor and delivery to be checked, get some morphine and return to work, because we were short nurses that day. Well that was about 8:00 am and my princess was born at 11:00am. Needless to say I did not return to work that day.
The last 2 years have went by so quickly. I can't even remember when she was this little. She has been such a joy to our family. She my little princess, the apple of her daddy's eye and her brothers bestest friend.

Sky at 3 weeks old:

So over the past few years we have laugh, cried, stayed up late and changed 100's of diapers but she is worth every sleepless night, every tear and every last penny spent on diapers!!!

So we also had a party for Sky on Saturday with the fam. Grandma's, grandpa's, aunts, uncles, cousins, mom, dad and brother. It was a lot of fun. We weren't sure she would even understand what was going on or if she would get that today was her day. But she did, she ate it up it was so fun and she was so cute. She would sing "happy birthday to Sky, cha cha cha" (her brother taught her that).

A girl after my own heart...

CRAZY Hair Day for Jaxon!!!

On Friday the 19th it was crazy hair day at school for Jax. The school sent home a note that reminded the parents of crazy hair day and also reminded us of the rules which were... no mohawks, no color we must abide by the dress code. Well my first thought was... Jaxon already had crazy muffy hair now, how on earth we will ever get it crazier???

Exhibit A:

So I called the hair dresser of the fam, Ryans mom, granny Sue. She thought maybe we could put little pony tails all over his head and braid them. But I thought, no Ryan would have a fit about the ponies. So what we came up with was, Thursday night we would go to her shop and have her roll his hair in little perm rods, sleep on them and the next morning comb it out and he would have an afro. Brillant!! Now we had to get Jax on board. He was totally all about the afro, but sleeping with perm rods he wasn't to sure about, but he agreed and I gave him tylenol before going to bed to help him sleep. The next morning when he woke up, I prayed that it work because he would have a fit if he had to sleep with curlers in his head for nothing. So we took the rods out and...

It worked.
We combed it out, ratted it a little and hairsprayed it a little and TADA...
An AFRO.

He went into show Ryan and he said WOW!!! After I dropped him off at school and came home I asked Ryan "so what did you think of his hair?" And his response was "well it one way to get his a#$^" kicked" LOL LOL LOL
We laughed so hard. He had a great day. He was worried that when he got to school that the "biggness" would go away, I reassured him, No way no how, his hair do was that way to stay until he washed it and sure enough, when I picked him up from school that afternoon...BIG CRAZY HAIR!!!

What have we been up to???

WOW it has been 4-5 months since I posted. Oh my I hope nobody has deleted me from there little side list of peeps that would be devistating!!! I am so sorry I will try harder to stay up to date. The sad thing is we have been so busy and doing such fun things I should have been posting all of them. So what have we been up to the last 4 months???

1. We finished landscaping our backyard. YEAH!!! Well I didn't Ryan did and he did an AWESOME job.

BEFORE:

The only "debate" we had was I wanted to burry the trampoline and Ryan did not want to... check out who won the "debate"

Here he is digging the whole to put the tramp in at about 10pm:

The finished whole:

And here it is the back yard finished!!! I love it my kids love it and we are always out there, it has been so much fun and so worth the sweat and tears. Thanks to my wonderful hardworking hubby we have an AWESOME backyard to enjoy for many many years!!!

Check out what Ryan did to the tramp he didn't want... he made it into our own personal water park!!!

2. The first Day of 1st grade!!!

This was a sad but exciting day for me. Jaxon was ready and waiting to go. I was so nervous for him, was he going to remember his lunch code, would he know where to go for recess and the different activities they would be doing, and would he know where to go after school to met me to be picked up. I think I told him 700 times not to talk to strangers or go with anybody but me, dad, grandmas or our neighbor Jen. And low and behold he has done awesome. He had his lunch code memorized the first day, he thinks recess and PE are the best subjects in school and he is always at the flag pole waiting for his ride. I am so proud of him and he loves it and of course according to me is the smartest, cutest kid in the first grade!!!

3. The other big event at our house was Jaxon turned 7!!! And yes we had a big extraviganza!!! We had a marine birthday party which was a blast. My little bro came down as our "special guest". The kids played tug of war, and did an obstucale course and at the end of the course got to shot paint ball guns, which were a huge hit the loved it!!!

I love making cakes for my kids. I try and do a fun cake every year for them. So since this years theme was marines I decided to do a tank cake. I think it turned out pretty awesome...

It's my party and I'll cry if I want to, cry if I want to, you would cry to if it happened to you!!!

The Party!!!

So there are the most important events that have happened in the last 4 month. I promise to update more often and keep things up to date!!!

The Few The Proud...

Our Marine. In November my little brother decided at 28 years old to go into the marines. My first thoughts were how scary, how stupid, we are right in the middle of a freakin war. But I was a supportive sister and wished him the best. He went into boot camp right after thanksgiving and we were not able to talk or write to him until February at his graduation. Ryan was so awesome and bought me, my mom, Jaxon and Skyler plane tickets to fly out to San Diego for his graduation.

It was awesome and so fun to see him. Life on a military base is totally different than my life. Russell, my little bro, had to salute everybody in a higher rank as he passed them. What was the most awesome is to see how Russell had changed. My mom and I always took care of him growing up, well lets not lie, right up until he left to go into the marines. When we saw him and spent the day with him, he smiled all the time, his head was held high with so much confidence and he talked like the world was in his hands. It was AWESOME. He looked so great and I am so proud of what he has accomplished.

St George or bust

This is a late post but I love these pics and we had so much fun I felt I need to share. My mom took me, Jaxon, Skyler and my niece Makenna to St George to stay in her condo the first weekend in April. We went after I had some surgery so I could rest and relax, more like shop and shop some more. My sister, her husband and little boy drove up from Escalante to meet us and also spend the weekend. We had a blast we played at the park ,played a little ball, Makenna got a new hair cut, we flew kites and we SHOPPED. It was a blast.

While at the park Jaxon decided it would be fun to bury himself in the sand. All the other kids followed suit. Holy molly dirt in every creavous of their bodies. They had so much fun and I didn't have enough energy to tell them no!

Family is truly the best thing ever. I love spending time with them. We had the best time and I hope to be able to go back soon. We laughed a ton and cried when we had to say good bye. But luckly we live close enough we are able to do these fun weekends whenever we can. It was a great time and I love my fam tons.
