Rest of the Year

The rest of the year went by very quickly. As a married couple we were slowly getting in the grove of us. Ben started a new job working for Appliance Clinic with my brother and I continued working with Tiffany at the day care.

Our first big holiday as a married couple was Thanksgiving. It was kind of awkward because it was literally the day after we got back from our honeymoon and we constantly got asked why we were there. We had a lunch with Ben's Mom's side of the family and then went to visit with my Dad's side of the family. It definitely made for an interesting first holiday.

We blinked and then it was Christmas time. It was our first official Christmas together. We had never spent a Christmas together, so this one was especially exciting. We visited every side of the family during the month of December. We spent Christmas Eve with my family and Christmas day visiting with everyone else.

In the morning we were with my family and we got some amazing gifts. It was our camping Christmas. Mom and Dad have a tradition to give camping gear on the first Christmas of the newly married couple. We got sleeping bags, camping chairs, a lantern, an air mattress, a tent, and even a small cook stove. It was pretty cool. Ben was especially excited. He loves to camp. We only needed to get a few more items and we would have everything you would need for a camping trip.

When we were done at Mom and Dad's we made our rounds. We had a lot a fun for our first Christmas.

Then in a short week it was New Year's Eve. We spent the evening with my family eating dinner and playing games. It was a blast ringing in the New Year and we sealed it with a kiss when the ball dropped.
