Gabbi's Doctor's appointment

We are a month behind on all of our doctor's appointments because of some holiday mix-ups, but at least we got up on all of her shots. We had her appointment last month and she was 5 months at the time. Her doctor gave her a clean bill of health again and she was doing wonderfully and is quite advanced in some areas; like body strength and development. We were really surprised but very excited that she is doing so well. She weighed 14 lb 4 oz and is 25 in length. She is still below the 50 percentile for her age, but her doctor said that was just fine for how well she is doing. She still isn't a fan of the shots though.

Bear Lake, A Family Tradition

Every year as a tradition, our family goes up to Bear Lake for camping and boating. Jeff and Ben's boss own a boat and allows his workers to borrow or rent it. This is our 3rd or 4th year going, at least for me, they could have gone while I was on my mission, but I don't know. The only difference this year was that the whole family didn't do the camping thing. With dad's new job and with Ben's reserve weekends, we had a very hard time finding a time that worked for everyone to go. Even with all our schedules we still didn't get everyone up there. Tiffany had a mandatory work meeting that she had to go to :( Jeff and the Kids came up early Firday morning, as soon as Kayla got out of school. Ben and I came up Friday night, when Ben was done at work. We left Gabbit with mom, and it was a good thing to, because it was extremly cold. It was windy all night long and that made it even colder. She would have cried all night long. When we got up there, we went and got some dinner at the famous shake shop and then headed back to the camp to eat our dinner and raost marshmallows. It was so windy we didn't stay out long and we even went to bed in our jeans and sweats. We got up early the next morning so we could break down camp and head to the beach to get a good spot. Jeff, Ben, and the kids went to go dock the boat and I headed to the beach. It's a good thing we got up early, because the beach was busy, Just Kidding. There was no one to be seen for miles. We weren't joined at the beach with anyone else until almost noon. We were the crazy ones to come out early in the cold. The wind didn't really die down much either. Finally Jeff and Ben got to where I was on the beach and we set everything up and waited for the rest of the family. Mom, Dad, Jenny, Brian and all the kids headed up that morning. An old friend of the family came up too, Scott and his wife, Natalie. When they got there it was time for fun. Well as much fun as you can have in the cold water. Not even the fish swimming kids would get it. We had to bribe them to jump it. Once the did, they had panic stricin faces and cried to get back on the boat. I agreed with them, but Ben made me jump in and the water was so cold that is nearly knocked the wind out of me. But it is like they always say "just keep swimming and you will warm up." After a while it wasn't that bad, but I think it's because you were going knumb. This year's big fun toy was the knee board. They always bring the skies and the big tubes, but the knee board was the biggest hit. We even got dad to do it, once we was able to "squeeze" his was into a wet suit. He was determined that the suit wouldn't make the water that cold. It didn't work, but it was hilarious to watch him literally "squeeze" into that suite. Everyone said the knee board was so much fun and a ton easier then skiing, but I can't and didn't do either, so I really wouldn't know. I just went along for the boat ride. It's really fun just to ride on the boat as well. We even tried to get Gabbi on the boat. She did really good at first and then we put a life jacket on her and all "h%$*" broke loss. She started to cry and nothing made her happy. So we were kicked to shore. Well not kicked, but I took her back to the beach, so she wouldn't ruin everyones fun with cring. She did have a lot of fun on the beach though. We brought her bouncer/rocking chair and she just sat there and talked her little head off while watching the water come in and out and even watching the cousins play in the sand. She just loves being outside. It was a great day to be at the beach. The weather wasn't to bad. It was still windy, but as the day went on, it warmed up to where we could actually take off the sweatshirts and the jackets. It was a good day. Everyone had fun, even though the water was a little colder then we like, we still had a blast and we ended the great day with a famous raspberry "Bear Lake Shake."A perfect ending to a perfect day.
