Snow Fort

While watching Jenny's kids one day of a school holiday it had snowed pretty good and Kayden and Miranda wanted to build a snow fort. Luckily Ben was home to help them out. I am not good at doing stuff like that. I never made them as a kid and Ben did all the time. It took them a couple of hours, but they pulled it off and it looked pretty good. Gabbi even had fun helping.

Wedding Ring

Ben has been out of town for only two days and it is driving me crazy. I hate to be home alone, I know I'm not really alone because I have Gabbi, but it's a little different. She's not Ben. I am even staying night's at my parents. My mind wonders to much. Well the real reason for this post is for a miracle. Ben had called me last night to talk to see how the day went and to talk to Gabbi. Mid way through our conversation he started to act frantic and I heard things moving around like crazy. I started to ignore my questions, then finally he stopped and said, "honey, I've got to go, I've lost my wedding ring." He hung up with me and proceeded to completely tare apart his room looking for it. He called me back about a half an hour later, really upset with himself. He still couldn't find it and said he had wasted a great deal of money and hung up. I didn't know what to do for him. I tried to say anything I could think of, but nothing worked.
So I just prayed for him instead. He really needed his sleep for class and I knew he would need all the help he could get for the way he was feeling. That morning he talked to everyone he ran into the day before with no luck at all. He had decided to give up. After lunch someone had approached him, I think it was his teacher, he said that he had received an e-mail about a ring someone had found in a class hallway and to contact the assistant's desk for information. So after his teacher told him about it, he went to check it out. Low and behold, the ring found was his. He called me afterwards and said he couldn't believe it. He was much happier now. The simple miracle of finding a wedding ring. Something that is only an outward expression of our love, but an inward expression of our devotion to each other. A miracle given to him by a loving Heavenly Father, who knew how much that ring meant to Ben. I'm grateful for these small miracle and blessings in our lives.

Christmas Dinner

Ben's Grandma Hadley, who is his mom's mother, puts together a family get together every year, usually between Christmas and new year. We celebrate Christmas, the New Year, and Grandma Hadley's birthday which was on the 6th. No gifts are given, no special gimmicks, just getting together and catching up with everyone. We only get together like this on his side 2 times a year, unless theirs a blessing or wedding. I'm getting better at recognizing his aunts and uncles. Still really bad at the cousins, but I can tell which cousin belongs to which aunt and uncle. I'll get it eventually. We had dinner with musical numbers that followed and Grandma and Grandpa made a home made Rudolf pinata for the kids. Gabbi wasn't interested at all in it and only wanted to play with the basketball that was lying around.

Tubing

The last day that we watched Kayden and Miranda during their school holiday, we decided to go tubing. It was really fun; Gabbi's first. She is experiencing a lot of firsts lately. Kayden took her down on the tube. The first ride went great, she loved it. The second time they went a little too far and hit a wall. They weren't going very fast, but it was enough to scare her. She didn't want to go down anymore. So that led us to the play ground, which was still just as fun. Kayden and Miranda are really good with her and nice to play with her even though she is a lot younger then they are.
