Random Pics

These are just come cute pictures that we have taken recently that I wanted to share.
Family picture taken Easter Sunday at Mom and Dad's
Easter morning, just after he woke up. He did have an egg in his hand, but dropped it right before I took the picture.

Easter Egg Hunt

Mom and Dad try to do an Easter Egg hunt for the kids every year. All the kids just love it. Dad tries to find the hardest places to see if he can stump the older kids. This year was no different. Gabbi was so proud of herself because she found one that was intended for one of the older kids to find. She didn't care. She saw it and it was free game. Inside each egg mom puts candy and a quarter. I think that's the part that the older kids love best, the money. The little kids care more about the candy. As proved by them sitting down and opening the eggs as soon as possible for a quick treat. The others sit and count their quarters. It's fun to watch. Owen, being too small and unable to walk, got it easy. A small bag was handed to him containing a shirt that said First Easter with sports Easter Eggs on the front and a pair of shorts. Thanks Mom and Dad. Your the Best.

At the starting line, just waiting for Papa to say "GO"

Gabbi, proud of herself for finding one of the eggs intended for one of the older kids.

Thanks again Nana and Papa!

Easter Morning

Easter at our house isn't all about the Easter stuff, not that I don't want it to be, but we have decided that it's not too important to celebrate it for the commercialism, but it's fun while their little to have the Easter Bunny stop by. So I make sure he does. It's not crazy, just something simple. I, of course make sure that they each get a new Easter outfit. That is the one thing I remember as a child. Always getting a new dress on Easter Sunday. I was so excited to be able to wear it to church. I loved it, and I hope my kids will too. My mom always made our Easter outfits, I'm not that talented, so store bought will have to do. They also got swim suits for this summer and a toy. Gabbi got a Toy story coloring book that covers all 3 movies and a box of twistable crayons to go with it. Way to go "Easter Bunny" you did great for Gabbi. You know how she loves her Buzz. Owen got an inflatable toy. It's a purple monkey with a small rattle toy inside. He's not quit sure what to think of it, but he does like to shake it to hear the rattle. But he was completely oblivious to everything else. Hey, I guess its to be expected of a 6, almost 7 month old. For him, as long as he has his fingers in his mouth he's just grand. Once we were dressed and ready to go to church, we snapped a couple of pictures. I of course had to have my traditional picture of trying to take our picture myself. It may look bad or funny, but they tend to be my favorites.

Party # 2

The Open house worked so well last time, we decided that was the best way to have the rest of the family and friends come to celebrate Gabbi's birthday. This year it was actually on her birthday. It landed on a Saturday this year. We planned it for the evening to allow all who wanted to come, a time that they would be able to make it. Everyone came and Gabbi loved all the attention. She loves being the center of attention. She even had a blast playing with all her new toys with both Ellie and NaKayla. She got some really fun toys that she was very excited about. She got a ballerina barbie, basketball hoop with ball, stuffed animal made by her grandma Annie, a soft ball and bat, a dancers ribbon, and her now favorite toy the hungry hungry hippo game. She has played that game non-stop. I'm surprised she didn't lose all the marbles yet, although she has come close. She also got some clothes, pj's, flip flops, and headbands. We also gave her the rest of the animal train. I about kicked myself in the butt. Everyone was pretty much gone. There was only four or so people still here. I then realized that I had forgotten to bring up our gift for Gabbi. I couldn't believe it. But she still got it and got to play with it, with Ellie. We did a simple cake, that Gabbi picked out. We had home made frosting and Gabbi picked the color, she loves pink. I tried to do a different type of writing, it still looked crappy, but Gabbi didn't care. It still had her Buzz and that's all that mattered to her.

Kayden's 12

Kayden turned 12 this year. He is now officially a big kid to me, almost a teenager. I can't believe that he is in young men's now. Wow. Way to go Kayden. This year Kayden also had a hard time deciding what he wanted for his birthday. Kayden has big wishes and had a hard time finding little wishes. He would have loved a new Ipod or a new PSP something. He has a whole list of electronic toys that he wants. Well we hope that he enjoyed this birthday. Jeff had bought him a new xbox when the kinect came out. So he had an extra xbox lying around. So they gave him the xbox, 3 month subscription to xbox live, and a game. So we got him a car game to go with it. He also got basketball stuff. He loves basketball and he's pretty good at it too. He also got hobby rockets. The best part about that was the look on Jeff's face bringing up memories of his time with all of his rockets. I think he enjoyed his birthday. The only bad part was that he had to share the Sunday birthday with Gabbi. Their birthdays are only 3 days apart.

Party # 1

Because of how big the family is and how small our house is, we divided her birthday celebrations into two events. The first being at mom and dad's house on our usual Sunday night dinners. Kayden and Gabbi are so close together that we celebrate them on the same night. Since Kayden is the older one and Gabbi doesn't care what she eats, Kayden choose the menu for the dinner and we brought a cake for Gabbi to blow out candles on. Kayden wanted pie. Thanks Kayden for being willing to share your day with Gabbi. She loved it. When she saw all the gifts thinking they were all hers. She had lots of fun. She got lots of clothes for the summer, I am excited for that, makes it easier. Then she also got some toys. She choose a little people car with the money she got from Grandpa William and Diana. The also got and etch-a-sketch, bubbles, and an animal train set from Ben and I. She's spoiled, but its fun. In regards to her cake, when I asked her if she wanted a princess cake or a toy story cake, I wasn't surprised by her answer. She yelled out as quickly as she could, Buzz Lightyear. It's her new favorite imaginary friend. He goes with her everywhere. So we bought action figures to put on the top of her cake because I'm not cool enough to actually attempt to make a Buzz Lightyear. It turned out cute, even though it wasn't anything spectacular. Gabbi loved it. She picked out the type of cake and the flavor of frosting. She was the Queen of her cake.

My hand writing sucks, but oh well.

VFW Egg Hunt

So this year for Easter, we actually attempted an Easter Egg Hunt. I have never liked them in the past and I really didn't want to take our kids to any of them. They are always so crowded with so many kids and its just chaos. The majority of them aren't ever organized very well either. Some kids only walk away with just one egg and that doesn't seem like very much fun to me, but Ben received an e-mail from an army Buddy about and Easter Egg Hunt that was being put on by the VFW. (Veterans of Foreign Wars) I figured that since it was put on by a military group it might be different. You know, the Army is an organized oil machine, type of thing. I was hoping this would be different too. It was held at Ft. Douglas in Salt Lake. So we decided to take the drive so Gabbi could have at least one Egg Hunt. There weren't very many kids there because of the weather. When we were driving it was raining. It stopped a few minutes before we got there and sprinkled a little bit while we were there. Compared to Egg Hunts I have seen in the past, this wasn't as bad, but I really don't think we will go to another one again. They had areas sectioned off by age, which was helpful, but once the older kids were done, they just horded the 0-3 age area. That made me mad. At one point I wanted to smack a girl. She looked like she was 6 or 7. I was pointing to an Egg for Gabbi to pick up and she looked at me and then literally grabbed it right before Gabbi was about to touch it. So I pointed at another one. She pretty much took it out of Gabbi's hands. It made me so mad, I wanted to smack that girl and just yell at her parents. It makes me grateful that we have tired to teach our kids better then that. Gabbi just looked at me and smiled and headed to a different area of the field. Way to go Gabbi. She's better then I am. Ben just laughed at me when I told him. It still bugs me. The entire ordeal lasted no more then 10 minutes. I sit and look back at it now and wonder why we wasted the gas or ten minutes of crazy. But then I look at the pictures and remember how much fun Gabbi said she had. When the hunt was over, one of the older Veterans walked over to Gabbi, Owen, and I and asked if they got any prizes. We told him no, and he gave the kids cute little stuffed bunnies. Gabbi was so excited about that bunny. She walked around the house for about a week with that thing. It still is one of the first stuffed animals she'll grab to play with. So I guess it was worth, but we will never do one again. We will have our own next time, and forever for that matter.

Haircut

Well, I did it. I cut my hair. I chopped it really. I wanted something new and something fun for the summer and that's what I think I got.
It's an A line bob with bangs. I haven't had bangs in over 10 years. Maybe longer. I love it, and thank Heavens Ben loves it too.

Sagez Family Pic's

A couple of weeks after Nelson's birthday party, we got together again to celebrate Dan's and Grandma Sagez's birthday. We went up to Garland to have dinner and birthday cake. It was nice to be able to get together. It has been a while since we were all there. So because of this once in a while event, we decided to take family pictures. I borrowed my dads fancy camera and tripod and we just took them in Deann and Nelson's front room. I think they turned out pretty good, considering.

Cameron's 5

Cameron turned 5 this year. I can't believe it. He will be starting Kindergarten this year. It seems like he was just a baby not to long ago. This year for his birthday he was not sure what he wanted. He wouldn't tell anyone anything, not even Jenny. It was quit funny. This summer Cameron is doing t-ball, so he got stuff to practice his t-ball at home. We got him a reader book for his tag reader and he also got this really cool laser helicopter thing.
It flies around following the laser point that Cameron will control. It was pretty cool. The best gift I think was a shirt that he got. It said "I still live with my parents." I know it may not seem very cool, but you have to know the story behind it. One day Cameron had an argument with Jenny and in the midst of it Cameron told Jenny that he was going to either run away or just leave. Something of that sort. So Jenny packed a bag for him and told him he could leave. That didn't sit very well with him, but it was pretty funny to the rest of us. The shirt fits him perfectly. When he showed us the front of the shirt we all laughed and he just looked puzzled. It was awesome.
