Nelson and Deann

After visiting with Grandma and Grandpa Sagez we headed over to Nelson and Deann's house. The kids have so much fun there. Grandpa Nelson is a big kid himself, they have a blast with him.
After we took pictures, we let the kids out of their costumes. I'm sure they were pretty warm by now. They had been in them almost all day. Then the kids went about playing and we just relaxed and visited while watch a few spooky shows on T.V.

A great ending to a fun packed day.

Trunk or Treat

I absolutely love Truck or Treating. It is so much better then going door to door ex specially with kids that are young. We met Jeff and Tiffany there and our kids went trunk or treating together. Gabbi and Kamree went around with Ben. Those 2 are too cute. A butterfly and a bumble bee.
They had so much fun Trunk or Treating that they were very sad when it was time to be done. Owen had a hard time parting with his candy bag. He was very angry, but quickly stopped when we gave him one of his treats.
Before we left, we just had to get a picture with Uncle Jeff. He was the pumpkin man. It was awesome. He grew that pumpkin in the garden this year. All the pumpkins he carved came from his garden and they were huge pumpkins.

Nana and Papa

Nana and Papa with the kids

Before heading to go Trunk or Treating we stopped to visit Nana and Papa. Sadly Papa had to work that night, so I visit wasn't very long, but the kids loved showing off their costumes.

Grandma Annie

Grandma Annie with the kids.

We had to go see Grandma Annie the day before Halloween. She had to work Halloween night. But we were glad we got to go see her. The kids love to see their Grand parents.
Funny pictures:
The kids had gone in and out of this door many times in our visit. They never notice the werewolf on the door. Before we went in the last time, they finally noticed it. It was hilarious. They were so afraid of it that they didn't even want to touch the door. To cute, too funny.

Preshool Halloween Party

Gabbi was so excited for her Halloween party at preshool. She wanted everyone to see her costume. She loved that costume. She would have worn it all day if I would have let her.
The kids had a lot of fun. The had home made dougnuts, made Halloween pictures, and played Halloween games. Gabbi talked about it for hours afterwards. She had so much fun. She really loves preschool.

Halloween FHE

For the Monday before Halloween we decided to make it a Halloween FHE. We carved our last large pumpkin while the kids colored the last small on.
Can you believe it, I actually cleaned out the pumpkin myself. Ben had is seminar that night and to make sure the kids went to bed at a decent time, I thought I would have the pumpkin ready for when he got home. The kids helped pick the pattern we followed and Ben did the rest.
After the kids were done coloring their pumpkin, the colored the Velvet pictures that Amanda and Dan gave them at the Halloween get together. Gabbi did such a good job on her, we saved it to hang next year too.
Here is the finished project, the kids had no problem modeling with the pumpkins.
After we were all done and cleaned up, we watch Casper with some yummy goodies. The kids did so good, they actually sat and watched the movie. It was a fun Halloween family activity. The kids really made it a blast.

Sunday Halloween Dinner

My sister's favorite holiday is Halloween, so it was only fitting that she be in charge of the family Sunday dinner for Halloween. We had an "Adams Family" theme this year. We were all asked to wear black. We tired. Owen didn't have anything black, so our kids just wore their costumes instead.
Jenny and Brian made a really yummy dinner of soups, rolls, salad, and munchies. It was really good and my kids actually ate it. They hate soup, but they actually ate it. That must mean it was good. After we were done eating dinner we all gathered in the front room to play pictionary. Jenny printed off a whole bunch of Halloween words that could be easily drown. The kids loved being able to play. It not often that they get to play games with the adults.
During the pictionary I was looking at dad and it just creeped me out. He had black make up on and black paint in his hair. He and mom really got into the dress in black theme. While I was looking at dad, I told him that if he had a wig he could pass for a girl. Lucky for us, Jenny and Miranda both had wigs that they wore. He put them on and I just had to catch it on film. It was great.
After we were all done with pictionary we started the movie Adams Family. While some were watching the movie, the rest carved or colored pumpkins. Ben did the dirty work to clean out the pumpkin and I picked the design. The kids had a lot of fun coloring on theirs. After they were done, they colored on paper to pass the time. The pumpkins turned out great and each kids did their own. I was very impressed at how all of their turned out. Then of course you have Jeff's. He should make a gallery of the pumpkins that he has done. They are amazing and he does it all free hand. Insane
This is Jeff's
This one is Ben's

Primary Program

I almost forgot, Gabbi was in the Primary program on October 28th. She was so excited for her part. She practiced with both Ben and I until she had it memorized. She had it down to an art. When we got into sacrament meeting I think it freaked her out. She sat with Ben, Nana, and Papa and then Papa had to bribe her to go up on the stand. She did eventually go up to sit with her class and when it was her turn she did her part very well. She did have to ask for help, even though she had it memorized. I was very proud of her
The line she was given was "Having goof friends, will help me choose the right."

She was very pround of herself. That entire day she walked around the house repeating her line over and over. ;)

Sagez Halloween get Together

The Sagez get together this month was a Halloween party. Amanad and Dan hosted, they did a great job. They planned for a very fun Halloween party. Everyone came dressed up and it was fun to see who everyone was. Brian had some kind of scary mask one. The kids weren't too excited about that. Ben was the hippy, I was a witch, Nelson was and old hefty man, Deann was a witch as well. Amanda and Dan were prison mates and Major and Koa (Amanda and Dan's dogs) were the police officers. Owen was a monster, Gabbi a butterfly, Ellie a BYU cheerleader, and Cami was a pumpkin.
The party first started with a spooky dinner. Amanda and Dan made mummy dog (pigs n' blankets). They were yummy. I love pigs n' blankets. Then the rest of us brought some fun spooky sides. Karen made deviled eggs with olive spiders on top. Deann brought veggie plates in the shapes of a pumpkin and skull. We did spider and monster cup cakes. We also had chips and dip and other little munchies. It was a really fun dinner.
After the yummy dinner, the kids played in the front room for a while, while the adults visited. When everyone was done eating and relaxing, we all headed outside for a Halloween pinata. It was a pumpkin and the kids thought that was pretty fun. I think they had more fun watching the adults play along. Everyone got a turn, but to add a twist the adults had to spin before they could swing the bat.
The best part was Brian. He spun himself and he got so dizzy that he ended up falling over. He got one swing and down he went. It was funny. One that we could have sent into America Funniest Viedos' had anyone recorded it. It was even cuter when Ellie ran over to him to make sure he was ok. All the adult were really fun to watch.
Amanda helped spin Dan and that was hilarious. You could tell that she was totally enjoying it. She would spin him one way and then the other. She changed directions many times. In total I think he was spun at least 20 times. He walked around for a minute, but still got a good swing in between his wobbling.
After the pinata, we all came inside for games. The kids watched Casper in the front room and the adults played Bingo and pumpkin numbers in the kitchen. It was a lot of fun. In the bingo game, Ben and I won the kids some necklaces that lit up. One was a pumpkin and the other a ghost. Our kids love flash lights and we thought they would love these.

It was a great night.

Tree House Museum with the Longs

The kids were very excited to be invited to the Tree House with the Longs. Gabbi and Owen loves to play with Bren, Amy, and Jordan. They have so much fun together, so when they invited us we quickly said yes. I love it too, because I have someone to visit with.
The kids have so much fun at the Tree House. There is just so much to do, they don't know what to do first. For Owen he of course went to the train table and the rest of the kids headed for the fire truck. It was so fun to watch them play together and to see the games they make up in their head. Kids really can be cute, on a good day.
After a while they finally moved around to other fun areas. They hit the farm and the ride on horses. Owen had a lot of fun with the hats, which really surprised me. He normally doesn't like to wear hats. They then bounced to the the house and the kitchen full of dishes and kitchen toys. They had a lot of fun playing house. They girls had fun making us parents lunch and what not.
After a while we finally convinced the kids to go to the second level of the museum. The kids first went to the book and computer area. The kids went to play on the computers, but I'm not really sure they knew what to do with them. So once we finally figured out how to make them work, the kids enjoyed the computer reading them the story of The Cat and the Hat.
After moving on the kids found the craft area. We made haunted houses. The kids weren't really into that a whole bunch so we finished out project and were ready to head out, but then the kids found the mid-evil era. They had a giant chess set, dress up, and even miniature action figures. So we sat down and let the kids play a little while longer.

I was such a fun play date, but after a couple hours it was time to go. Us mommies were ready and the younger ones were ready for a nap.
