I heard the commercial for Discover the Dinosaurs on the radio for at least a week. I kept thinking that this would be something that Owen would absolutely love. Well, all the kids would love. We looked at the webpage and it looked pretty cool, so we went ahead and purchased the tickets.
The kids were so excited when we told them where we were going, especially Owen. When we finally got there and saw the signs the kids were even more excited.
We walked in, got our wrist bands, and headed for some fun. When you walk in you walk through the exhibits. I would guess pretty close to life sized dinosaur replica's. They had sounds and fog and all the illusions that you were actually standing next to a real dinosaur minus the getting eaten part.
The kids had a lot of fun looking at all the dinosaurs and completing the information scavenger hunt. I have to admit that I learned a lot about dinosaurs.
When you were done walking through the dinosaurs you came to see animals from the ice age. It wasn't as fascinating to watch and look at as the dinosaurs, but it was still fun to look at.
After walking through the exhibits we went back to the car and had a picnic lunch. The kids thought it was pretty cool to eat in the back of the van. I'm not sure why they thought it was so cool, but they ate all their lunch and that's all that matters.
On the way back to the exhibit hall Ben was entertaining William but a crazy ride up and down the stairs in the stroller. He had the biggest smile and was laughing the whole time.
When we got back into the exhibit hall, we headed to all the fun stuff. We started off with the dinosaur rides. They were pretty lame to watch. They roared, moved forward and back and then paused. Then it did it again three more times. That's it. At least the kids thought it was fun. I don't think I would have rode it more then once.
We even got William to ride one. He didn't think it was as cool at the other two. He was pretty freaked out about it. He wanted off even though it was so tame...
After the rides we headed for some more fun. We started with the kiddie zone. William again was very enthused. At least he didn't want to sit on them. Once we left them alone he wandered around checking out all the different dinosaurs. If he was on his own he had no problem, but when Gabbi forced him on one, he freaked out.
Gabbi and Owen spent the remainder of their time on the variety of jump houses.
In between bouncing around the different bounce houses, they got to color, dig for fossils, and even play a few holes of mini golf.
While the I watched Gabbi and Owen, Ben and William went exploring too. It was sad that William wasn't able to have as much fun as the other two, but Ben helped him have some fun too. They went and watched the Dinosaur movie, walked around and look at the dinosaurs again, and even went for a walk in the hallway.
When they came back, was took him over to see the T-Rex head. He wasn't a fan, but we at least got him to smile and laugh a little bit for a selfie.
We then dragged the other two off the bounce houses to snap a quick selfie and then headed to the car to head home.
Sadly I have to admit, it was totally not worth the money. Both Ben and I agreed that next time we want to try something new we will be looking into the review before going ahead with it.
