First group ride

Ben and I went on our first ride together. It was a fundraiser ride for Primary Children's Hospital. They started at Smiths with a drive through canyons and passes and ended back at Smith's. Once we got back to where we began they had lunch and a raffle. It raised a lot of money and was actually a lot of fun.
Half way through we stopped in Eden for a rest stop. It was much needed because the seat on that bike hurts after a while.
The only down side it totally creeped me out when we sent on the freeway. I was not ready for that. We survived though. It was a lot of fun.

First sleep over

Gabbi has been lucky enough to have a few cousins her age that she has been able to every once in a while to have a sleep over. Every time she does, Owen has a break down. He wants someone to have a sleep over with so badly. We not normally into friend sleep overs, but we caved and allowed him to have a sleep over with Colton.

After we left Mama Bodily's house we headed back home to get him a change of clothes. On the way home he fell asleep. I texted Christy to let her know and to see what she wanted to do.
She responded with a picture of her own. Colton had also fallen asleep. We talked about doing it another night. But as soon as I went to take Owen out of the car he woke up asking if we were at Colton's house yet. Sleep over back on.
Owen got into his pajamas, brushed his teeth, and he headed to drop him off. When we got there Colton had set up a place for them to sleep and he a movie ready and waiting for him. They watched the old time Batman cartoons while eating some popcorn. I just love how they smiled for the picture, but couldn't take their eyes away from the cartoons.
After picking him up in the morning Owen told me all about and how much fun he had. He the proceeded to tell me that he was going to have a sleep over with Hunter, and then Braxton, and the Brooklyn. It was funny. I'm just glad he was good and had a good time.

Memorial Day

We don't visit graves very often, but we felt it was good to go this time because Gabbi has been asking question about Grandpa Shupe. We pass the graveyard every day on the way to school and she constantly talks about him and asks questions. We took this as a teaching opportunity.

We visited Grandpa Shupes grave as well as Jerika's. The kids loved the stories of who they were and how they were a part of the family. For a rainy day, it turned out to be a nice day, even though I don't like visiting graves.

Hair cut

To save a little bit of money, I have started to cut William's hair. If I do say so myself, I didn't do that bad of a job. This is the second time I've done it, I think. I still have some learning to do, but its a working progress and its just baby hair, fair and fine. He sits pretty still for me too which makes it easier.
Such a handsome little man.

Last day of School

The long awaited day came, the last day of school. Gabbi had a great year at school and her teacher was awesome. I couldn't have asked for a better teacher. Gabbi has grown so much this year. I can't wait to see what come next for her in the 2nd grade.
As a going away and a thanks, we made a candy graham card for her teacher. Gabbi picked out all the candy she wanted to give to her teacher and the both of us decided what exactly it would say. We put it together and she was really excited to give it to her teacher.
The only bad part was that she has to say goodbye.

After coming home, she showed me all the fun stuff that she came home with. Books that they worked on over the year, art projects, etc. I've never seen so much stuff come home at one time. I guess that's what happens when you don't bring it home during the year.
Her favorite thing that she brought home was her Birthday book. All of her friends signed it and drew her pictures. It was a pretty cute book. What a good idea.

Play Place

Every once in a while I just don't feel like making dinner. When we do, we try to go somewhere where the kids can have fun. In other words a place that has a play place.

This time we went to Del Taco. The kids were so anxious to play that they ate faster then I've ever seen them. They had a blast.

I love that William is finally big enough to be able to play with the other two. They may not play with him very much, but at least he's willing to play without them.

Sagez get together

The Sagez get together for May was at our house. We decided to do a whole family get together including Nelson's siblings and their kids. It was the "reunion" for the Sagez family.

Before everyone else got there Brian and Karen came a little early to give Gabbi her birthday present. They weren't able to come to her party and wanted to make it up to her. They gave her a princess and and a horse. She was so excited to get another horse.
For the night we decided to have dinner and sides along with playing games. Everyone helped bringing items for the dinner and we had a few different games ready to go.

We played Catch Phrase for a while. It was pretty funny listening to them play. Nelson's brother-in-law is a computer genius. He had the hardest time playing the game. His wife didn't have the easiest time either, but for their 14 year old son it was a piece of cake. Then on top of that, grandma and Uncle John, it was a lot of fun of laughter.

We played a few more games till it was time for everyone to head home. The kids were sad to see their cousins go. They don't get to see them that often. Till next time.

Birthday party

We were invited to the kids cousins birthday party. It was a beach party theme. The kids were given water tubes and beach balls. They had fun beach music playing and some fun games. They had a lot of fun as you can tell with the pictures.
Intermixed with the games and floating toys, we had dinner, presents, and cake. Despite the long drive, we had a blast.

Birthday card

Better late then never, Ben received a birthday card from Braxton. It was the cutest thing. He had a huge smile on his face when he gave it to him.

Mother's day

Mother's Day isn't a big day for me. Ben tries to make it so, but I keep telling him not to worry about it. He did make me a nice dinner, which was the nicest thing I could have asked for.

Gabbi brought home some cute things she made at school. A book all about me, which was really funny to read some of her answers about me. She also made a magnet with her picture in it. They were both cute.

At church they handed out flowers to all the women. I would have rather had the chocolate that they handed out last year because I'm not very good at keeping things alive. Lucky me however, go some chocolate from the other ward. The benefits of being early for choir practice.

Ben's birthday

Ben absolutely refuses to buy things for himself, so when it came time for his birthday, that's exactly what we did. He got two pairs of casual dress shoes, a wallet, and a belt. This all went with his new suits, a few pair of jeans, and some nice shirts as well. We dressed him very nicely for his birthday. If only I didn't have to make him do it, then I could get him something he wanted instead of something he needed.
After dressing him in his new clothes we took him out to dinner to really show him off.

Superheros

Here's the Super Hero's that Owen was so fascinated with. I had to no idea who half of them were.

Fundraiser continued: Party Time

I almost forgot, at the fundraiser they had different super hero's there to walk with the kids and play games with the kids. Owen had never seen one before and he was so excited about it. He asked to get a picture with each one. He had a blast.

To encourage the kids to dance, they asked the super hero's to dance to. All the kids were getting into it. Even William was out there trying his best to keep up with the others. It was so cute to watch.
By the time it was time to go they were all so tired. William was asleep within minutes of getting in the van.

March of Dimes Fundraiser

Annie had a fundraiser brought up at work and asked us if we'd like to join. It was a fundraiser for the March of Dimes. They had a mile course laid out and ready to go. Now we just had to wait. While we were waiting they had breakfast and music going. It was rainy and cold, but all the kids were in good spirits.
The walk was a lot of fun even though it was raining the whole time. We had the kids in the wagon with the giant umbrella over them and Gabbi was walking with her cousin and an umbrella. Despite the rain we were covered, dry, and having fun.
When we got back to the pavilion they had games and activities set up for the kids as well as a dancing corner. The DJ was awesome and really loved getting the kids energized and having fun. They had so much fun.
Skiball
Spin the Wheel
Tip a Troll
Ball Toss
Making Wizard of Oz birdhouses
One last selfie before the activity ended. They really did have a great time and all for a good cause.

Murder mystery dinner party

The party itself was awesome. I haven't been to one in a long time.

The whole things was supposed to be a surprise, except she did know her character so she could get a costume. She didn't know that we went crazy with all the decorations. She had a huge smile on her face when she walked in the door.
To start off the night we started with the picture booth. we wanted to take pictures of everyone in their costumes before they got dirty or too hot to wear them. Everyone had a blast with their pictures.

Alice (Christina) from Alice in Wonderland
The Count (Brandon) from Count Dracula
Red (myself) from Little Red Riding Hood
Mr. Holmes (Ben) from Sherlock Holmes
Mad Hatter (Hunter) from Alice in Wonderland
Rapunzel (Gabbi) from Tangled
Robin Hood (Braxton) from Robin Hood
Long John Silver (Vic) from Treasure Island
Juliet (Deanna) from Romeo and Juliet
 Prince Charming (Sam) from Cinderella
Snow White from Snow White
The Wicked Witch (Jana) from The Wizard of Oz
After our pictures we sat down and had dinner. After dinner we started the game. We each had clues and questions that were to be addressed during each round. I'm not very good at these types of games, at least I wasn't the only one.

When it came down to it, only 2 people were able to guess who the murder was.

When all was said and done with the game, we pulled out the dessert and sang happy birthday to both Christy and Ben. Ironically they both have their birthday's on the same day.
The night was a lot of fun, I hope everyone had as much fun as I did.
