Before heading inside, I couldn't let the night go without our traditional picture on the doorstep. The kids weren't being very cooperative, but they did the best after eating many pieces of candy and a few cupcakes.
It really was a filled and fun packed day.

Trick or Treating with the Bodily's
Before heading over to Jana's for dinner we went trick or treating around the neighborhood. We went in their neighborhood considering I wasn't sure where to go in ours. I was glad we went in theirs, they had a lot of houses that gave out giant candy bars as well as other things like Halloween rings, cup cakes, popcorn, etc. The kids were so excited about the treasures that they were collecting.
Once it started to get dark, we headed to Jana and Scott's for dinner. When we first got there we gathered all the kids for a quick photo before they ran to the four corners of the house.
When it was ready we gathered the kids again and we all sat down to eat. When we were done eating we helped to clean up and sent the kids downstairs to clean up. It was getting late and after all it was still a school night. Before heading downstairs to help clean up, I caught William spying the Halloween village. He thought that was the coolest thing. It lit up, it sang, it moved. He didn't want to leave it to go help clean up. He was so cute, I didn't make him. Besides there wasn't much of a mess, they didn't have time to make a big mess.
Once they were all done cleaning upstairs and we were all done cleaning up the kitchen it was time to go. Got to love Halloween on a school night.
Halloween visits
Before heading out for some fun and trick or treating we made our visits to the grandparents.
Our first stop was to see Great Grandma and Grandpa Hall. The kids always love to go up to their place. Even more so when they have time to play with their toys. Sadly this visit didn't merit enough time to play. They were still happy to find out that they had a special little goodies bag for them.
When we left there we went to go see Nana and Papa. Nana wasn't feeling up to being in a photo, but she at least came out to visit and say Happy Halloween to the kids. After a little bit of play time with Papa we hit the road to go trick or treating and dinner with the Bodily's.Kindergarten Halloween Party
After the Halloween Parade, the kids went back to their classes and enjoyed a little Halloween fun. They played games, had treats, and even had some fun Halloween music to dance to.
Halloween Program
After the parade was over, the 3rd graders were putting on a play. Well a Halloween production. It was quite cute too. The play was a Halloween adaptation of Snow White. While the actors were doing there jobs, the rest of them sang the songs that went along with the story. You could tell that they were all having a lot of fun.
The best part of the production, besides the songs of course, were the characters that played the 7 dwarfs, well in this case they were the 7 skeletons. As a part of their lines they had jokes that all tied into being a skeleton. Some of them were so dumb that they were funny. You could tell they had a blast telling them and they got a kick out of it when the audience laughed.
All of the 3rd graders did a great job. They worked hard as well. They practiced for over two months. A job well done.
Halloween Parade
The parade of course was started by the Principal. This year he was dressed as Goofy the baseball player. After him all the other grades followed.
Kindergarten followed next. Owen's teacher was dressed as Peter Pan. She always has the best costumes, most of which she makes herself. When Owen finally walked by you could tell that he was loving all the attention.
It took Gabbi's class forever. They didn't go in order, which I never understood why. When they finally did come around the 3rd grade teachers were all dressed as retro exercise teachers. It was pretty cool and clever. Gabbi finally came around the corner. She seemed shy, not sure why, she definitely isn't a shy one. At least it seemed like she also was having some fun.William at the Parade
Halloween day brought a very busy day. First things first we headed to the school for the Halloween parade. We got there at the regular time we drop the kids off and as they headed to class, we headed to the gym.
William very quickly got board and started to find things to entertain himself. He laid on the chairs,
he played on the risers,
and even played with my phone. At one point he was taking selfies of himself, it was hilarious to watch him. He thought he was so funny and just smiles and laughed at himself.
When it was finally time for the parade to start, I couldn't get William to sat down, so he and I stood next to the risers and watch the parade go by.

Halloween with Annie
We ate dinner, played games, and just had a lot of fun.
It really has been nice to have Annie over for dinners on Sundays. The kids have truly enjoyed it and its nice that they get to spend special one on one time with Grandma.

Girls night at Lagoon
After spending the day at Lagoon with Ben and the kids, I wasn't done. Christy and I planned a girls night. We planned on going on every ride you can't go on when you have your kids there. We started at one end of the park and made our way to the other hitting up every fun adult ride.
1. Wicked
2. Cannibal
3. Samurai
4. Rocket
5. Air Race
6. Spider
Intermingled in the rides we stopped to go through one haunted house. That was all I could stand. I really am a wimp.
After all the turning, spinning, upside down, crazy rides we were both done and ready to go home.
We of course couldn't stop without having a treat first and stopped at Jack's Over the Top. We had ice cream and fries. It was a great ending to girls night.
10-29-2016 last trip to Lagoon
We were lucky enough to find one more day to go to Lagoon. It was hard too, with all the festivities going on. Sadly we didn't stay very long either.
We first started our visit with a stop at Bulgy the whale. Gabbi and Owen weren't to thrilled, but we wanted William to have some fun on the kiddie rides. Then we walked over and got in line at Red Rock Rally. Gabbi rode with William and I went with Owen. The ride is fun, but you can only take so much of the whipping around the corners. It's a good thing this would be the last time.
We then got in line at the Dinosaur Drop and waited for what seemed like forever. They had a technician come to the ride, so we figured that we weren't going to be getting on anytime soon, so we walked over and got in line at the Ladybug Bop instead. William was excited and couldn't wait for the ride to start.
When we were done there, we walked over to the Bombora. I'm pretty sure this ride is the kids' favorite. We go every time no matter how long the line is. Thank heaven the line moves pretty quickly especially when they have both cars operating.
We then went to the Spook-a-Boo walk through. The kids went once before, but they begged to go through again. They said that it would be different during the day since the last time was during the evening. We obliged them and waited in line. It took a while, but at least it wasn't hot and the kids were pretty well behaved.
When we were done, we walked around and looked at some of the things that freaked Gabbi out last time. We showed her that it really wasn't scary and she started to have a little fun with it.
We found our way to the Sky Scraper. I was surprised at how many people were in line. Normally there is never a line. Luckily we got in line at the perfect time and were able to board without waiting for the ride to stop again. When we were done, we decided that it was time to go. Both Ben and I were done with the lines. The kids begged us to stay a little longer. We said yes and they each got to pick a ride. Owen wanted to go on the Boomerang. Gabbi wanted nothing to do with it, so She went on the Tilt-a-Whirl with Ben and William. Both of us waited in line forever, but ironically enough were done about the same time.
The kids then asked if we could finish our day with Scary and Crow's Straw Maze. Can't do one without the other they said, so we headed to Pioneer Village to finish the day and the season.

Fall Social
The Primary presidency was in charge of planning the Fall social. We decided to do a chili and soup dinner and then for some fun we planned trick or treating around the halls.
Things went better then I expected. We first thought that we weren't going to have enough food. With all the conferences we had in October it had been two weeks since the activity was announced and when we called to remind people that they had signed up to bring soup or chili 5 or so backed out because they weren't able to attend anymore. Surprisingly enough we had so much soup and chili that some of them didn't even get touched. If anyone went hungry it was entirely their fault.
While everyone was eating they also had an opportunity to get their pictures taken in our little photo corner. Not as many people took advantage of it as I would have liked, but those that did seemed to like it and they liked how it turned out.
Once it was time, all the adults took their places around the halls of the church and the kids were set free to go trick our treating. It turned out great and some of the kids were even able to go around more then once. No one seemed to mind either. I just hope that everyone was able to enjoy themselves.
Field trip to the Nature Center
Owen had his first official field trip. They went to the Nature center. He was mad at me that I wasn't going. I signed up to be a back up just in cast they didn't have enough parent volunteers, but they must not have needed me because I didn't get a call. He told me that I better sign up for the next one.
He had such an expression when he walked off the bus. He ran to me and excitedly began to tell me about the field trip and what they saw.
From what I got out of it, they saw and Eagle and he found an awesome rock to add to his collection. The rest all ran together and I couldn't quite tell what he was talking about. He had a great time and that's all that mattered.
After his field trip his teacher posted some pictures that were taken.
