Errands

Today was a day of errands for William, Ben, and myself. The first one took us to Draper to get Ben's DA photo done. He hasn't had one done since he enlisted and they needed an updated one for his packet. Ben has had to assemble a packet for his Chaplaincy Candidacy. The packet had to contain all sorts of paperwork inside one of which was this photo. This was the last step for his packet. Once this was done, we could turn it in and then all we had to do was wait for their answer as to whether or not he was accepted as a candidate.

When we got there it was hard to figure out where exactly we were supposed to go. After back tracking a few times, we finally found it. Once in the room we were directed to the back where the photo booth was. To get ready for this photo Ben had to do all sorts of things to update his dress uniform. He had to have it tailored, had things sewn on, etc.

Ben spent a lot of time getting his jacket ready, but once we were there and talking to the soldier who would be taking the photo, she told Ben to take his jacket off. She told him to make a few adjustments to his medals. When she told him what to do, I thought it sounded silly. It would be crooked. She then explained that once the jacket was one, it wouldn't look crooked anymore. She said that it's all in how it sits on your shoulders. She then walked him back to the booth and took the picture. He was literally in and out. It took us longer to get there than it did to take the photo.
When we were done with his photo, we drove to Sandy. Ben had an eye check-up and it wouldn't be worth driving back home just to come back. So we decided to go to lunch while in Sandy. After looking around at our options, we decided to go to Kneaders. It's been many years since we've been there for a lunch. I was just hoping that they would have something that William would eat. After looking at our options, William decided on a peanut butter and jelly sandwich while Ben and I both had club sandwiches. All of our meals came with chips and a drink. William even got an extra treat in his with a cookie.

When we were done eating we went to Ben's appointment. When we got there Ben checked in while William and I got settled into the chairs along the wall. William grabbed a coloring book and crayons with the intent to color. He didn't get to color for very long though. Shortly after checking in they called Ben back. I asked him if he wanted us to go with him and he said yes. So we put the coloring stuff back and walked back to the exam room with Ben.

In the exam room they did pretty much the same things they did at the last follow-up. Once the initial exam was done he sent the results to the Doctor and were then moved to another exam room where he would personally check on Ben. He did another Eye test and even removed the tear duct plugs they had put in to stop his eyes from tearing up. The Doctor said that everything looked great. He could barely see any scar tissue and his vision was 15/25. He said that it will only get better as time progresses. He then told Ben that he didn't need to come back but once a year. As long as he kept that up, there was a lifetime warranty on the work just in case. That's always good to know that if it reverses on its own, they will happily fix the problem. Hopefully it won't reverse. After the good news, we were done and free to go.
We had just enough time to get home and pick up the other two from school as long as we didn't get stuck in traffic.

Interview

When Ben started the application process he told me that I would have to be interviewed too. I told him that was silly and it shouldn't have anything to do with me. He of course looked at me funny and said I had very much something to do with it. If I wasn't okay with this whole thing, he wouldn't be doing it. I told him I supported him and that that should be enough. I just didn't want to get interviewed by a whole bunch of people and didn't want it to be my fault if he didn't get accepted. So I put on my big girl panties and went along with it.

Our first interview of course was with our Bishop. We were new to the ward, but not really. We had lived there when we were first married, so it just felt like we were talking with an old friend. So that interview didn't bother me. The second interview was with our Stake president. This was a little intimidating considering our Stake President just happened to be someone who was in our ward when we were kids. He has known both of us for a really long time and really well too. Not to mention Ben was his home teacher and we made visits to their home monthly. Our third interview was with the individual in charge of all the candidates in the program, Bro. Frank Clawson. He's the one that gets you where you need to go and when you need to. Our final and last interview was with a member of the 70, Elder Kacher. That one I was really worried about. Which is where we were headed today.

After dropping William off, Ben and I headed to Salt Lake. When we got there we followed the instructions of where we needed to go (church office building). We made our way to our third interviewee, Bro. Clawson, and while we waited for our interview with the area authority, we sat and visited for a few minutes. It wasn't technically supposed to be an interview, but after we were done Ben leaned over and said that that was the easiest interview so far. He, Bro. Clawson, then walked us over to the building next store through a basement/parking structure walk way. Once in the building, we walked through a few hallways passing a few gentleman on the way. Ben tapped me with his elbow each time. I finally discovered why on the last tap. We had been passing members of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles. We passed Elder Runlund, Elder Andersen, and Elder Christofferson. It took me of guard and made me even more nervous. I felt like a fish in a fish bowl which is exactly what our third interviewee said we would experience. However he meant it for when we were finally at and on assignment.

Once at the office of the 70, Elder Kacher, we waited a minute and then were shown into his office. We sat at a table in the corner of the office. It was a round table and he asked us if we felt comfortable. I just smiled. I wasn't comfortable and had not intentions of feeling comfortable until we were done and on our way home. Luckily the majority of the questions were related to Ben and I really didn't have to add much, but when he did finally ask me a few question at first I felt like a deer in the headlights. I finally spit out some answers. I can't tell you what he asked and I can't tell you how I responded. I just hoped that whatever I said made sense and sent the right impression. I was crossing my fingers the whole time. Ben handled like a champ.

When we were finished, he said that this program needed more couples like us. I took that as a good thing and that we passed this scary part of the process. At least I hope that's what it meant. He then walked us out to Bro. Clawson, who was waiting for us in the waiting room and then Bro. Clawson walked us back to the church office building were we were then cleared to go home. He told Ben that he would be in contact, but that everything looked good.

To clear my nerves now that we were done, we went to Blue Lemon to get a treat before heading home to pick up the kids.

I want my Mommy

Ben and I had to go to Salt Lake for an interview for his Chaplaincy application and kids were not allowed to come. So our amazing friends told us that they would take our kids. They took William in the morning and then picked up Owen and Gabbi once school was out.

On our way to Salk Lake I got this picture through a text. It was William and he was pouting. He was saying "I want my mommy." I just laughed. When I got a minute I called to make sure everything was okay. Apparently he didn't want to eat at Subway and got upset when they told him they weren't going elsewhere. Kids can be so silly.

Scout Activity

For scouts they planned on attending the OTT planetarium at Weber State. Mom and Dad are scout leaders, but Dad was unable to attend tonight because of work, so I told Mom that I would go in his place.

We first met at the Church building where the kids got car assignments. Once all the kids were situated we headed to Weber State. When we got there we walk around the halls of the planetarium while we waited. It was like a museum. I didn't realize Universities had things like this. Then we were told they were ready for us and we went into the theater and found a seat. The presentation was put on by the students of Astronomy. The video they showed us was how that planet had changed through time and the stars that have changed through the centuries. The kids really seemed to enjoy it. I really like the when they talked about the stars and the different constellations through out time. It was pretty interesting.
The presentation lasted about an hour and then they opened it up to questions. Some of the scouts had some silly questions that I'm sure they got looks from their leaders for, and other asked some really thought provoking questions. Overall I think it was a great activity for these scouts. Owen said he would like to study some stars. I'm not sure how long that will last because he seems to change his mind a lot.

Chillin

Ben was only allotted so much time off after his lasik surgery. He was able to set up a work load that he could handle on restricted duty. The particular work load was an inventory that had to be done by the end of November. It worked out great because it didn't require a whole ton and the room we were in wasn't as bright as the shop floor. That didn't stop Ben from wearing his sunglasses though.

While we were counting the inventory William was at Ben's desk occupying his time on the tablet. He had all sorts of games and movies downloaded on the tablet to last him days without ever doing/watching something twice. He was cool and loved being at Ben's desk. We ran in and checked on him ever so often. We weren't worried about him at all, he was surrounded by other guys who work out of the same office. He was having the time of his life.

Post-op

The next day was Ben's first follow-up appointment. I was surprised that they were open on Sunday, but they were and that's when they told us to come back. I asked Mom if she'd watch the kids and she of course said that wasn't a problem at all as long as I got them ready for Church before we headed out. Which I did and when they were done, Ben and I headed out.

Once at the office, Ben went and sat down while I checked him in. They told me that they would call him back when it was his turn. We waited about 20 minutes before they called him back. I was surprised how many people were there and had gone in before us.

When they finally called him back they took us to an exam room. They had him take off his sunglasses and sit in the optometrists chair. They got it ready to checked his eyes. I was surprised what they were asking. It literally had only been 24 hours. They shined a light in his eyes and asked him how well he could see the pictures. He then asked Ben to identify letters and numbers on their chart. Once they were done with that they checked eyes for swelling and so see how well it was recovering. I was even more surprised that they said they could already see that his eyes were on the right road to recovery. They even removed the lens they had put in to protect his eyes. At least that's what I thought they said those lenses were for.

Once done in that exam room we were then taken back to another exam room where Ben would see the actual Doctor who performed the surgery. He took a closer look at Ben's eyes. He numbed Ben's eyes for this. Ben was grateful. He said the first part really hurt. It was hard for him to keep his eyes open while having the light shined directly in them.

When the Doctor was finally done with his exam, he told Ben that everything looked great. Things were healing like they should and that anytime his eyes were bugging him, he could use his eye drops and that should make it not as uncomfortable. He then told Ben to continue his post-op care the way he was instructed and told us to come back in 5 days.

Thanksgiving

We always do Thanksgiving with Annie on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. There's no question as to when and we know that that's where we'll be on that day. I thought that this year would be different because of Ben's surgery, but he said that he wouldn't let that get in the way.

We of course dropped the kids off before Ben's appointment. I hoped that they would help out in preparations for Thanksgiving lunch while we were gone. Once we got back, I was happy to see that they had helped and that everything was ready to go. Sadly not everyone was able to be there, but it was still good to visit with those that were. Ben didn't do much visiting though. After quickly eating something, not without difficulty, he went into Beth and Parker's bedroom to lay down. I wasn't sure how long he would want to stay, but I told him we could leave at anytime.

Sadly it wasn't very long. The kids had just gotten into a game when Ben came out and said that he wanted to go home. He went back to lay down while I helped the kids clean up their mess. When we were done, we grabbed out leftovers and some that Annie had packed for Ben and said goodbye. I helped Ben walk to the van and then went back for the kids and the food. Once we said our goodbyes and our thank you's, the kids and I walked back to the van. Once we were all settled in we his the road and headed home.

Every little bump or sudden movement Ben cringed. He kept his head down and covered by his hoodie as much as possible. I could tell that he was in a lot of pain and was probably regretting it right now. I hurried home as fast as I could without getting pulled over. Once we were home I got him settled in our bedroom and made sure the windows were covered completely as to not let any light in at all. I only went in to bug him enough to give him his medicine and to see if he needed anything else. So much for celebrating.

Eye Surgery

After many years of talking about it, Ben finally decided to go ahead with Lasik surgery. After checking with our insurance, we decided to go to the Lasik Vision Institute. Ben went ahead and called them to make a consultation appointment. Before going to the consultation, Ben made sure that he had done his research. He wanted to be as prepared as he could.
The day of his appointment he seemed a little antsy. I probably would have been too. Once inside the office, he signed in and we waited for his name to be called. When it finally did, they called him back to do preliminary tests on his eyes and his physical health. When all of that was done, we were taken to a room and were told to wait there until the Doctor came in to talk to us. Ben wasn't sure if that was a bad thing or a good thing. I told him not to worry about it.

When the Doctor came in he talked to us about the results of his tests and the different options that we could look into. Once we were done talking to him, we were then taken back to the manager's office. He was the one to set things up and answer any questions that we may have.

Once in his office he reviewed Ben's paperwork and test results. After doing so he told Ben that he wasn't actually eligible for the Lasik procedure, but was for the PRK option. That's what Ben figured because of his astigmatism, but another underlying issue was actually because he was in the Army. They see Lasik procedures as an open wound and can be discharged for having it done. I didn't understand that, but Ben shook his head. He must have know what the Doctor was talking about.

We then talked about the next steps. He first asked us if this is what we were interested in. Ben and I looked at each other and said yes, that we'd like to proceed. He then had us fill out some financial information and asked us how we wanted to pay for the procedure. I asked if there was a discount for paying all up front and he said yes. He also told us that he would add a Military discount to it as well. Once all the calculations were made, we handed over our credit card and made his appointment to come back and have the surgery. The next available appointment was the Friday after Thanksgiving. We agreed and planned on just that.

I was a little worried about the day because we had Thanksgiving plans with Annie that afternoon. They told Ben that he could rest on their bed after he was done eating. I wasn't sure how well he'd want to, but he said that was fine. So we planned to drop the kids off at Beth's house for the Thanksgiving get together while we went to his appointment and once we were done, we would just go back to her place.

It was time for his appointment. Once everyone was ready we loaded in the van and headed to Taylorsville. Once we got to Beth's house we walked the kids inside and told her that we would be back as soon as we were done. We weren't sure how long that would be, but hopefully not too long. She said not to worry about it and we headed out.

Once at the office, Ben signed in and waited to be called back. When he was, they told me it would take anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half. Two hours later, I was still waiting to hear. Finally the Nurse came out with Ben and walked him to the front counter. There they told him his follow-up care, follow-up appointments, and answered any questions that Ben had. Ben said he didn't have any and he made his follow-up appointments. When we were done, they gave us his prescriptions and then told us to have a good day. I hoped that would be true and that Ben wouldn't have a hard time.

Once out in the van and buckled in, Ben bent over. I wasn't sure why and once I was buckled in I asked him if he was okay. He said that he was in pain and that even though his eyes were covered, he could still feel the sunlight and it was painful. He wanted his perceptions, his ice pack, and bed. I asked him if he still wanted to stay at Beth's house, and he said yes. That one surprised me. So we went and filled his prescriptions and then went to Beth's.

Game night

Games are something that we absolutely love. It doesn't matter who with, we just loved to play.

We made plans to go back to the Bodily's to not only to pick up the kids after having left them there while we were Black Friday shopping, but as well as being able to play some games. It was a good way to end the long night of shopping. They told us to come over whenever we were ready and we could play some games. I then asked about lunch/dinner plans and they said they didn't have any, but had plenty of leftovers that we could take advantage of. We planned a simple lunch and then a leftover Thanksgiving casserole for dinner.

When we got there Christy had already fed the kids lunch, so we went ahead and sat down to play some games. We played a few different things. As time went on the kids complained about being hungry again so Christy and I worked together to get dinner going. When it was done we had all the kids come up to dish up. When they have we sent them back downstairs to eat. After they went downstairs the adults took their turn to dish up. We all ate quickly so we could get back to the games.

Christy then pulled out a game that she had bought not to long ago at the recommendation of a coworker. She said she was dying to play it with us. I wasn't sure why, but once I looked at the box and read how to play, I figured it out. She wanted to see how I would handle that type of game. The game itself was somewhat like Apples to Apples, where one player reads a statement and then the rest of the player fill in the blank using their imagination. It was a slightly provocative game, it pretty much said so on the front of the box. Its claims its for groups of immoral people. That wording scared me and I was worried about playing, but sat down to see how it would go.

After the first statement was read, I knew exactly how this would go. I can only imagine that the game changes depending on who your playing with. If the people your playing with are more of a "loose cannon" then you'll have one heck of an interesting game. If your playing with "bubble minded" it would probably be boring. We were playing with half and half. That meant that some answers were not as funny as other and others were so funny and embarrassing that it was hard to read and continue. I don't think any of us have laughed so hard in our lives. I was laughing so hard that my stomach hurt. It was a great game night and once we were done, we took the kids home to get them to bed.

Thanksgiving

This year was Mom and Dad's turn for Thanksgiving. After all the options were discussed we planned to have lunch/dinner at Jenny and Brian's house. Mom and Dad said they'd do the turkey, but Jenny and Brian insisted. They wanted to try smoking it with Brian's new smoker. Mom agreed that they could do a small one, but Mom would do a more traditional one. She then gave us our assignments for the rest of the meal. She also said that she was inviting Aunt Cindy.

When it was time, we headed to Jenny and Brian's place. When we got there, we sat down and waited for things to get started. I asked Jenny if she needed any help and she said things were just fine and that they'd be ready soon. While waiting Jeff pulled out all of his adds and was looking through some of the sales that would be going on for Black Friday shopping. That was no surprise. He does that every year.

When it was time and everyone was there, we all dished up our food, sat down, had a prayer, and dug in. Every one had a hand in this meal it all of it was so good. It was so good in fact that it was almost silent. The only voices you heard were those of the kids talking to eat other. At one point we realized that and Jenny said "it must be good, no one's talking." We laughed and then began to visit while finishing our Thanksgiving meal.

When we were all done eating, everyone pitched in to help clean things up. Then we pulled out some games. Cindy's not use to our games and it was fun to get her to open up and play. She was a hoot to watch. It took her a minute to catch on to some of them, but once she did, she seemed like she was having a blast. After a few games it was time for some family to disburse. They had other family to see. We did to, but not till later, but since everyone else was leaving, we did the same.
After leaving Jenny and Brian's we headed to Brandon and Christy's, well to Scott and Jana's. They invited us to come and have dessert. When we got there, they had just pulled out the pies. It really was good timing. Once everyone had a piece we all sat down to eat them. When we were done we played a In a Pickle and then sadly had to say goodbye. We'd be back, but it was time to head to Garland.

When we got to Garland, Grandma Sagez was already there. We planned a simple evening, treats to share, and games. While waiting for everyone to get there, we sat down and visited. After some time had passed the rest of the family had arrived. The kids were happy because Brian and Karen came and that meant they got to play with their kids. They hardly see them at all and this was a nice change.

While the kids went off to play, we pulled out some games. We played a few rounds of Say Anything and then we put the game away and just visited. It was nice for the rest of the family to be able to catch us up on how things were going for them. It didn't last long though, other plans were made, and some had to leave. So again, since everyone was leaving, we did the same.

We headed back to Scott and Jana's. They had offered to watch the kids while we went Black Friday shopping with Brandon and Christy. We weren't sure where we wanted to go or what we specifically wanted to look at. We were merely there for the ride and the people watching fun.

Our shopping venture took us to Walmart first. It was absolutely insane. I'm never sure why we brave the insanity and crowds, I guess it's the small aspect of entertainment of watching people. I'm glad we don't ever go with wanting something specific because we probably would never get it. We just go and see what's there and if there are any deals worth taking advantage of. The only thing we know we are looking for are the DVD's and Video games. Depending on the movie or game, those are always a good deal.

The rest of our shopping adventure took us to Entertainmart, Target, Gordmans, and Best Buy. We wound up empty handed until we went to Best Buy. They had some great sales, plus we were in the market for some electronics if the deal was worth it. We ended up finding a pretty nice laptop on sale for $200 off the original price. We also came across some Samsung smart watches. We have been debating them for some time and with a sale of $75 off a piece, we decided to each get one. We definitely spent more this year with Black Friday shopping, but it was all worth it and we had a great time with Brandon and Christy.
When we were done, we headed back to Scott and Jana's to pick up the kids. When we got there, they were all asleep and Jana told us to leave them and go home. We made plans to come back later and headed home.

New calling

I knew when we moved in with Mom and Dad, it wouldn't be long till we both had a new calling. Ben already got his as a High Councilman, so I guess it was my turn. The Ward Executive Secretary called and asked if I would be able to stop by the Bishop's office before Church started. I agreed and nervously told Ben. We then finished getting ready and headed to Church. While waiting I couldn't relax. I was worried about where they would put me next.

When I was finally called in, they didn't ask for Ben, so that was a little reassuring. He asked me to sit down and asked how things were going. I told him that things were moving along as they should. He then proceeded to talk to me about music and how important it was. He then started to talk about the current Ward Chorister and how her husband has had some bad spouts with his health. How he was would depend on whether or not she would be able to be there for Church. He then asked me if I would be the new Ward Chorister, but assured me that she would still be there, but only as the assistant if I needed someone to fill in for me.

After listening to him and asking me the important questions, I sat for a second and then happily agreed to the calling. It wouldn't be as hard as some as I have had in the past. It would also give me an opportunity to be able to expound on the hymn that don't get sung as often. I was actually looking forward to it. I then asked him exactly how it would go and what I needed to do. He told me that they would give me a theme for each month and then I go to choose what hymns we'd sing in Sacrament meeting. He then also told me that, if possible, they'd like a special musical number each each except Fast Sunday and if I couldn't get a special musical number then I was to add a rest hymn. That seemed simple enough, I smiled, shock his hand, and walked out.
When I walked out, Ben asked how it went and if I was excited. I told him what the calling was and that they'd be calling me to it today. He again asked if I was excited about it and I told him yes. For once I was more excited than I was worried or nervous.

Disney on Ice

We have enjoyed Disney on Ice many times. We have taken each of the kids by themselves individually and now it was time to take all of them together. I heard and saw an advertisement for the show while exercising with Christy. After the advertisement was over, we looked at each other and both thought the same thing. "We should go." We instantly went on our phones to see what the costs may be to go. Even though they were a little higher than advertised, we wanted to be a little bit closer than the cheaper advertised prices, it was worth it and we went ahead and purchased the tickets.
The day of we wanted to go to lunch before the show, but Christy ended up have to work that morning and Brandon had to work that evening. THey could literally only go to the show before have other obligations. So Ben and I did our own thing and just planned to meet them there.

We took the kids to eat at the food court in the Gateway. Sadly because they were under construction and the food court didn't have many options. We decided to go to the Megaplex food court instead and got pizza to share between all of us. It took forever to come, we were afraid that we would be able to eat it in time and get the our seats. Luckily if finally came and we were able to eat and get to the arena with plenty of time.

Finally at our seats we sat down and waited for Brandon and Christy. They finally got there with a few minutes to spare. They of course had been there already, but had been through the lines and gotten treats to eat while watching the show. Their treats looked so yummy that we decided to get some for the kids. We got each of the kids some cotton candy with Disney hats on them. We killed two birds with one stone. A treat and their souvenir all in one. They didn't care that it wasn't what they initially wanted after having passed a ton of tables that were selling souvenirs, buy were glad that they got something.
After getting officially settled in our seats because of course the kids wanted to trade seats so they could sit be each other, the show was finally starting. They started of the show like they have with any Disney on Ice with Mickey Mouseketeers accompanied by Mickey and Minnie Mouse. They came out to introduce the show and what we'd be experiencing today. Today shows was celebrating 100 years of Magic and all the characters that have come to life to entertain families everywhere. We were in for an amazing treat to see so many different character all in one show.
They started off with one of their most popular shows, Finding Nemo. The kids loved it when Crush came out on the ice. I have to admit, it was awesome to see such a large rendition of Crush. Their costumes were large and colorful, it was awesome. The kids were on the edge of their seats taking all of it in and I was right there with them.

After a quick story of Finding Nemo, they brought out the Disney Princesses. The first story was from Beauty and the Beast. Not only did you see them in their Royal form, you saw them how you did in the movie. I was impressed that someone could skate with that large of a mask on their head. They solo dance was beautiful and it got even better when they transformed.
Once they skated off the ice, Tiana and Prince Naveen came out. As soon as they did Owen lit up. He loves this movie and was hoping that they'd play the Witch Doctor's song. Sadly he didn't realize that they were only having the Princesses and Princes come out.
When they were done Ariel and Prince Erik came out to show off their skills. Now it was Gabbi's turn to perk up. Ariel is absolutely Gabbi's favorite Princess. She secretly wishes that she were a mermaid. She watched the two glide across the ice with such longing. Owen did too, he loves Ursula and was crossing his fingers that she would come out. He gave me a look of such excitement and anticipation. Again his hopes were shattered. Ursula is no a Princess and was not on the list of characters to come to the ice.
We then got to see Cinderella and Prince Henry (Charming); Aladdin and Jasmine; Rapunzel and Flynn Rider; and they finished it up with Snow White and Prince Florian/Ferdinand (Prince).
When the last couple was done, they all came out for one last trick and pose before saying goodbye.
After the Princesses and Princes were gone, they presented another family favorite, Frozen. This story was presented in more depth and detail than even Finding Nemo. It went through all the major details from the movie, even Elsa's snow castle. It wasn't as grand as the Arendelle set, but they did a pretty good job with the light and sound effects to make it seem even bigger and grander than it actually was.
The best part of Frozen was when Olaf came out. When he did he sang the song In Summer. He also brought all sorts of friends with him. They even did a kick line. It was awesome. All of the kids really seemed to enjoy Olaf out on the ice.
After Frozen was done, they told the story of Aladdin. It wasn't as in depth as Frozen, but they got all the key elements of the story. It was enough that if you hadn't seen it, you would still understand what was going on in the story. The best part was when the  Genie came out. He didn't compare to Robin Williams playing the Genie, but did a fantastic job portraying the Genie and all his energy, enthusiasm, and pazazz. One of the best parts was the Genie number from the cave. It looked alot like the number from Frozen with all of Olaf's friends, but this time it was with a whole bunch of Genie's. It was awesome.
Once Aladdin was over there was a small intermission. That gave us a few minutes to run the kids to the bathroom if needed. Surprisingly none of them needed too. I however needed to stretch my legs, so the boys and I went for a little walk around the arena. When we saw the lights flash, we took that as out cue to head back to our seats.

Once they got things started again, they started with Toy Story, another family favorite. So much that they've actually made many sequels which have all been equally popular. Last time we saw Disney on Ice we saw Toy Story 3, this time it was the original Toy Story.

They didn't go into great detail, but enough to bring out the main characters and a group of toy soldiers. They, like the insects and the Genies, had an amazing dance number. These large group numbers must be a theme for their show. We even got to see another kick line. They have truly perfected the kick line on skates. I can't imagine how hard that would have been to make it as perfect as they did.
After they were done showing of their skating skills in their story, it was time to see Mulan. I was so excited. It's my favorite Disney story and I couldn't wait to see how they portrayed it. It was amazing.

They did an in depth take to the story. They had amazing scenery, costumes, and choreography in order to better tell the story. They even showed the great battle on the mountain and the celebration at the end of the movie. It was such a good representation. I absolutely love it and to top it off, they had a dragon come out on the ice. At that point, I knew I was not the only one who had enjoyed the story.
When Mulan and the crew cleared out, the story of Lion King came to life. I can't imagine how hard it would be to move around in those large and bulky costumes. They did so gracefully to help tell the story. Nala and Simba were a little different though, with their dance number that didn't surprise me. They like all the others did an amazing job.
Once the last story was over, it was time for the Finale. They had characters from every part of the show out on the ice. It was a great show and it flew by. I was almost sad to see it end. From the looks on their faces, I'm sure the kids felt the same way.
When they were finally done saying goodbye, we picked up our garbage and headed to the exit. Once outside we talked about what to do next. Christy reminded us that Brandon had to get to work, so they would be heading home. Since there wasn't much keeping us in Salt Lake either, we headed home as well with the added fun of dinner and treat once we got back into Ogden.
