Drive-in

Apparently, we didn't have enough fun for the last week or so and decided that we needed to go to the drive-in. The kids were super excited to hear that we were going and gathered their blankets, pillows, and treats for the movie. We stopped and got some pizza and headed out. We had to wait a little bit in line, but that's normal for opening weekend. We bought out tickets and then headed to our screen. I was happy to see that it was on the main screen. I'm not a fan of the others because they are on dirt instead of pavement.

When we found a spot, we parked and pulled out the pizza and had dinner. When the kids were done, they pulled out our corn hold game and started to play. They played a few rounds and was able to find some other kids to play with them too. They eventually put that away and started to throw around the frisbee and football. They were having so much fun. As the sun started to go down, we had to ruin that fun and have them come back to the truck as more and more vehicles were finding spots to watch the movie. When it was time for the movie to start, the kids got cozy, and we all cuddled in our blankets to enjoy the shows. We watched the new live action Aladdin and Captain Marvel.

Las Vegas day 8

This morning we were all a little slow. We have had a fun time and a busy time in Las Vegas, but now it was time to head home. We had breakfast and then started packing our bags and loading them in the van. When everything was out, we cleaned up the condo (which is required of every visit). We didn't have to launder the close or do any deep cleaning, but had to make sure the dishes were in the dishwasher and running, garbage's empty, vacuuming, etc. We all pitched in, and it went rather quickly.

When we were done, we turned in our keys and then got in the van and hit the road. The ride home was quiet and not too bad. We stopped for lunch halfway through our drive, but other than that we didn't stop until we got home. When we got home, we did the cleaning again, this time cleaning out the van and getting clothes in the washing machine. When all was said and done, we went to bed in hopes of being rested from our vacation.

Las Vegas day 7

Today was going to be a busy day, I'm just hoping that it will be a good one. After getting ready and having breakfast we went and got in the van. We were heading to the Las Vegas Mini Grand Prix. It's like the fun centers that they have in Utah. It had go-carts obviously, but it also had an arcade, some rides, and a giant slide.

When we got there, we were literally the only ones there. Not to mention we got there before they opened. At least we didn't have to wait too long before they unlocked the door. After going inside, we gave them our passes and they told us what we had actually purchased. The kids were happy to hear that they got unlimited rides on the slides, rides, and go-carts, but that meant that their arcade money had a limit. Ben and I were okay with that, because all of that stuff would be more fun anyway.

The first thing the kids wanted to do was to drive the go-carts. Due to their heights, the boys got to drive on one while Gabbi drove on the other. That also meant that Gabbi had to wait. The operator could only run one set of go-carts at a time, since they were short staffed. We let the boys go first because they were getting antsy. Once on the course, they ran to a car and got strapped in and waiting for further instructions. The worker should them how to work the go-carts, set some ground rules, and let them go. They looked like they were having a blast. They drove around and around the track trying to get in front of one another. When one would pass another, they had huge smiles on their faces. It was so fun to watch.

Now that the boys had had their turn, it was time for Gabbi to have some fun. Gabbi got to just have fun driving. There was no one to race and worry about having to try and pass someone. When it was time, she got in her go-cart, buckled the seat belt, and waited for the instructions. After she was given her instructions, she was off. She was a little apprehensive at first, but one she got the fill of it, she was having a blast. You could tell that she could have driven around that track over and over again.
While Gabbi was driving the go-cart, the boys had some fun while waiting. They found an outdoor corn hole area. The boys love to play corn hole, they play it a lot; pretty much every time we go up and visit Nelson and Deann. They're pretty good at it too. They played a few rounds while Gabbi was driving.
When the boys and Gabbi were done, we walked around a little more outside. We came across a few of the rides, but since there weren't any workers outside, we didn't attempt to ride any of them. The kids were fine with that too, they weren't big or grandiose. The one thing that they wanted to do was the giant slide. This took slides to a new level and the kids were having so much fun. They went up and down the slides so many times that I lost count.
Before heading inside, Gabbi noticed that there was a worker helping some other kids on one of the rides. She ran over to join them. The boys were fine waiting on the sidelines with Ben. It was a glorified merry-go-round, but instead of it going up and down, it spun around.
When she was done, we went inside to cool off and have some more fun. Our first stop was at their food counter. We had a meal package along with our passes. We got 2 pizzas, some breadsticks, and drinks. When our pizza was done, we found a table to sit down at and ate our lunch. The kids ate as quickly as they could because they wanted to go and play. We reminded them to pick their games wisely because as soon as they money cards were out of money they couldn't play anymore. They walked around seeing what games they wanted to play and then they went at it.
When we were done, we made our way towards the strip. We parked in the Circus Circus parking lot and walked towards our next adventure...The Marvel Experience at the Marvel Avengers Station. When we walked in the kids' eyes were wide open. There was so much to see, it was almost overwhelming. We gave the attendant our passes and they gave us the 4 1 1 on what there was to see and do. She gave us some tips and the best ways to experience all that they had to offer.
We first went through the interactive exhibits. They highlighted 4 of the Avengers, Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, and Thor. In each of their sections you got to see the history, science, engineering, genetics, and technology that came with each Avenger. Each of their sections also had interactive portions that the kids' really got a kick out of. They got to sit on Captain America's motorcycle, show off their muscle to Hulk, try to pick up Thor's Hammer, and use Iron Man's suit in a simulator to fight off some bad guys. The whole experience was pretty cool and the kids' loved every minute of it. When we they were done, they were inducted into S.H.E.I.L.D. and were even given an ID to prove it.
As a part of the Iron Man simulator, we each had a small tablet to help us connect with our suits. Then we were recruited into S.H.I.E.L.D. and taken into New York to help fight off the alien race. William had so much fun with and was actually pretty good. I have to admit, it was a lot of fun. When we finished, the kids got their ID cards, and we went to look around the rest of the center and the gift shop.
When we were done, we walked down the strip to our next adventure. The kids got a kick out of some of the hotels as we passed by. Our ending point was at the Venetian where we went into the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. We went to the one in San Fransico and the kids loved it, so we decided to check this one out as well. The kid ran around finding people that they knew. I was happy to see that this one was different than the one in San Fransico that way it didn't feel like we were having the same experience.
At the end of the exhibit, they had a 4-D interactive movie like the ones we saw at the Excalibur. We went and got in line and when it was our turn, we grabbed our glasses and went and got a seat. We weren't sure what we would see, but we were all excited to see what adventure we were about to go on. It was quite the adventure, we watched as the Avengers took on plenty of bad guys and they kicked some butt. The kids were laughing and jumping and really enjoyed the mini movie. When the movie was over we all walked out with smiles on our faces.
When we were done, we went back to the van and drove back to the hotel. We put together dinner, got cleaned up, and then went to bed.
