Mrs. Scribbles

On Friday I wore my Ugg boots to school.
One of my students asked me, "Mrs. Strebel, why are you wearing clown shoes?"


Student: "Mrs. Scribbles" (yep, that is what he calls me)
Me: "Yes"
Student: "My daddy died."
Me: "Oh, that is so sad. How did he die?"
Student: "He got in a fight."
Me: "Oh."
Student: "My momma says he's with the devil."

Halloween Fun!

For some Halloween fun we invited friends over and we decorated cupcakes. The cupcakes were supposed to be little mummies. Who can resist a fun Halloween treat?!

This is our friend's baby-Callie. She just looked too cute I had to take a picture of her. I love the tights!

So, this week a got a new student in my classroom. After his first day his mom comes and talks to me and asks how his first day was and I told her that it was fine. She then says, "Oh good, because at his old school they wanted to diagnose him with ADHD. Honestly, how can he be ADHD when he will watch TV and play video games ALL day long?!"

Student 1-"My mom and dad smoke."
Students 2-"Yeah, my dad smokes."
