He Crawls

Sorry, for the sing songy, annoying, mom voice and for how unsanitary it is to have our toothbrushes on the bathroom floor. He is a total crawling maniac now. He is getting things out from under our bed. He is pulling things off the fridge. He is climbing on the dishwasher when I am emptying it. Nothing is safe.

First REAL Date...

...post James.

We even got our first babysitter. Man, did that make me feel OLD! I used to babysit ALL the time. Before I could drive the dad would pick me up and once we were at the house the mom would explain my responsibilities and leave the important phone numbers. That was totally what Sam and I did! Weird! Luckily, James was already asleep so all the babysitter had to do was watch TV.

We went neon light mini golfing and out to dessert. It was great to just talk to one another. To be just the two of us for a few hours. I think we might even go out again next weekend!

Jamesie Baby!

This is a hodge podge of a post.

SLEEP!! Last week we started letting James cry it out at night. He is six months and was waking up WAY too many times at night. The first 3 nights were bad. Now we put him to sleep at 7 and he sleeps until 7 with one wake up to eat. I am sleeping like 9 hours at night!! I feel like a new woman!!! What a difference sleep makes.

This is what James looks like when I am trying to cook dinner.

Check out those teethies!

This boy is officially a solids eater. He eats solids twice a day. He has only had veggies so far. He likes pretty much everything. Boy, is it messy! Don't worry, James is not naked. I just strip him down to his diaper every time he eats because his clothes are a total mess if I don't.
He is also learning how to drink out of a sippy cup.
Check out the chubs! It has been cold here. I love his beanie.
My baby is on the move. Look at him in the crawling position.
This pic is for Sharon. Love the pjs!
Salmon dinner! This is the first time I had ever made fish. I'm not a huge fish eater, but will eat salmon. The dinner was a success. Here is the recipe. The recipe is from my friend's food blog. anythingbutmeatloaf.blogspot.com. You should check it out. Her recipes are delish.
BROWN SUGAR GLAZED SALMON
-1 TBLSP brown sugar
-2 tsp. butter
-1 tsp. honey
-1 TBLSP olive oil
-1 TBLSP Dijon mustard
-1 TBLSP soy sauce
-1/2-3/4 tsp. salt (I ALWAYS use coarse/kosher salt...it makes a huge difference to me)
-1/4 tsp. pepper (and ALWAYS fresh ground black pepper...so yummy!)
-1 salmon fillet (2-2 1/2 lbs.)
In a small saucepan over medium heat, cook and stir the brown sugar, butter, and honey until melted. Remove from the heat; whisk in the oil, mustard, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Cool for 5 minutes. Place salmon in a large foil-lined baking pan; brush with the brown sugar mixture. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 20-25 mins. or until fish flakes easily with a fork.
