Better late than never, I always say

Image
Alexa FINALLY rolled over from tummy to back (on purpose) today! Yay Lexie! The girl has some bad motor-skills genes thanks to yours truly. I didn't walk until 17 months. Nathan, however is rolling both from tummy to back & visa versa. He's going to be all over the place here pretty soon. Fun for me! Anyhow, here are some pics of Lex having some tummy time (nice drool, huh?) then a video of her rolling. Isn't she adorable in her little black stretch pants?? I love em. And because I can't post something about Lexie without posting something about Nathan, I wanted to post these pictures that just crack me up. When we were packing up to leave Mexico, my dad (Nathan's favorite person in the WHOLE world ) gave him a ride on the rolling suit case. It was hilarious! Finally, I wanted to post a pic of the "Baby's First Christmas" ornaments that I ordered for the babies. I wanted to get them some because I have an ornament from my first Chris...

Six Things

I was tagged by Laura to write 6 interesting things about me. I have already done this tag back in October of 2007! ( Click Here to read) I'll try to think of 6 more things people may not know about me. That first tag was hard but I'll do my best! 1. I am intensely afraid of deep water & come darn close to a panic attack when I talk about it. But I somehow manage to force myself to do things in deep water like wake boarding & going on a whale watch in Mexico on a flippin' RAFT. Once I actually do those things I am ok, but it's the before part that's really difficult for me. 2. I hate calling people on the phone. I much prefer the cowardice of email & if I HAVE to call someone to tell them something, I am WONDERFULLY relieved when I get an answering machine. 3. I have the same #3 as Jennifer. Dating in college was a blast! LOL 4. I hate to be tapped, like when someone is trying to get my attention. It gives me the urge to punch whoever does...

Puerto Vallarta Pics

Image
We really did have such a great time. We stayed at a resort called Villa del Palmar Flamingos in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico, which is just north of Puerto Vallarta. The hotel was gorgeous. It was right on the beach & every balcony offered a beautiful view of the pool & the Pacific. Vacationing with babies is definitly a new experience. We were fortunate that they really enjoyed the pool. We didn't spend a ton of time there each day, hence the reason we're all still as white as Casper, but the time we did spend there was a lot of fun. Nathan & Alexa looked ADORABLE in their swim gear! Our nephew, Luke, celebrated his 1st Birthday on January 17th! It was so fun seeing him opening his presents & dive into his first cake! He got a swim suit from Gma & Gpa that matches Nathan's & we gave him the book, "A Monster at the End of This Book" which is one that my dad read to us as kids. It was a hit! One of the neatest things we did there was go ...

We're back.

We flew home from Puerto Vallarta last night. It was a great trip full of family, games, food, sun, a whale watch, swimming & more food (pictures to come). The most memorable souvenir I brought home from Mexico: FOOD POISONING . Darn PVR Airport Subway. (I changed it to darn for you Mom)

We're getting so big!

Image
I just can't believe how big my babies are getting. I know its a phenomenon every parent experiences... WHERE DID THE TIME GO? They're already 5 months old. Their motor skills have just taken off & they're just getting so.... BIG! They are really fun babies with funny personalities. They both love their baths & love playing with their toys. Alexa has definitely found her voice & she has one volume- LOUD! She screams when she's happy & screams when she's mad. Nathan's new favorite past time is the Jumparoo we borrowed from thier cousin, Savannah. He loves all of the lights, sounds & bouncing! They both love to be sung to & will try to sing along. They are the joys of my life! Nathan's hair, as you have seen, is a bit out of control. It just keeps getting longer & longer on top while some on the sides has fallen out... it's rediculous. We decided against buzzing it but it needed a trim. So I gave him one today. I ...

Family Resemblance

Image
Many people have said that Alexa looks just like me. I consider that a compliment considering she is the most gorgeous baby girl ever. :) BUT, I can't take the credit. From the first moment I held her, I knew who she really got her gorgeous looks from; my mom. While we were in Utah, we had my mom get out a baby picture. The resemblance is undeniable. My mom was and is beautiful, as is Alexa. This is also the blessing dress both Alexa & I were blessed in.

Christmas 2008

Image
As most of you know, we headed to Utah on the 23rd to spend the holidays with my family in Utah. We had such a great trip full of family, food & fun! Nathan & Alexa did pretty well with all of the traveling. They loved meeting all of their extended family & spending time with Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles & Cousins! Some highlights of our trip are: 1) Christmas Eve family pictures, a lunch out to Red Robin & opening our Christmas jammies! 2) A trip down to my parent's cabin in Duck Creek Village where we played games, spent time with family, ate, & rode snowmobiles. Nathan & Alexa even took a spin! Don't they look cute in their snowsuits? 3) Our Oldroyd family party on January 2nd. We spend so much time with my family on our trips to Utah (which we love) but it was nice to spend some time with the Oldroyds! We had so much fun! (Don't be fooled by Alexa's face-- it got rough toward the end of the evening! We really did have a great time!)...
