The Oldroyd Family

Friday at Jamie's house was so much fun! Jamie has twin girls, Savannah & Kylie, who are almost 3 & they loved having a "pink baby" & a "blue baby" to play with! Jamie's sister-in-law, Jessica, ALSO has twin girls who are almost 2, Rachel & Olivia! They came over & it was twins twins everywhere! Valentine's Day was so much fun. Daddy made pink pancakes, we got presents from Grandpa & Grandma & the best part: a Valentine's Day party over at Grandma & Grandpa's! What made that extra special is our cousins moving down from Dallas to Houston! Welcome back to Houston Allen family! Today we went to the Houston Zoo with some friends from church. My cute nephew Spencer came along & we had a great time seeing all of the animals! It is SO NICE having some more freedom now that the babies are older & I got rid of "the ugly baby" (my pump, for those of you newcomers). 6 months is really such a fun age...

We've been up to lots of fun stuff at the Oldroyd house! This is how I find Nathan if I don't buckle him into his seat. He rolls right over. He thinks he's pretty funny! I made a video the other day of Alexa talking to herself. This is what I hear ALL DAY. It is adorable. Except at 5:30 in the morning. And for some reason when she wakes up, she talks REALLY LOUD! I guess to make sure we hear her! A friend of my mom's sent these hand print keepsake kits of the babies so I decided to make them for 6 months. It's supposed to be the hand prints in one side & a picture in the other but I just put both handprints in one. It turned out cute! Thanks Mrs. Czupak! (P.S. Don't be fooled into thinking the babies sat in their Bumbos through the whole process... they lasted all of 5 minutes! My friend Shelley & I took the babies to get their 6 month pictures taken today. They were so well behaved! Nathan was super flirty with the photographer & Alexa was a little difficult to get smiles out of but hey, she weren't crying so I'm not complaining! The one we got is the first one here. Then I just got a proof sheet of the other ones for their scrapbook. I LOOOVVVVEEE the 2nd one but I just had to choose... I went way overboard on their 3 mo & promised Sam (& myself) I wouldn't do that again. Anyway, here they are! Aren't they adorable?!!?

As previously stated, the babies had their 6 month well check today. It went great! Except for the shots... those always stink. Nathan got an antibiotic for his cold that won't clear up. Dr. B said its turned into a sinus infection so that's why it's been hanging around for a month. So hopefully our little guy will be back to 100% soon! Here are their stats: Nathan: 26.25 inches tall (50th%), 15 lbs. 11 oz. (25th%) & 17.75 inches around the noggin (75th% LOL) Alexa: 24.75 inches tall (10th%), 12 lbs. 13 oz. (below 5th%) & 16.75 inches around the noggin (50th%) Nathan stayed in his normal percentile range but Alexa... hmmm... she didn't grow much in height (she used to be 50th%) & hasn't gained much weight (used to be 10th%). Nathan & Alexa are SIX MONTHS OLD today! A little about Nathan : He can roll all around the floor, he loves to stick his tongue out when he smiles, he is very ticklish, he loves to snuggle, he is easily startled, he gets camera shy, he loves to make "who" sounds like an owl, he LOVES the jumparoo, he loves to be read to, he loves to be outside, he can hold his bottle when he wants to, he loves his binky, he hates to be burped, he sleeps well at night but doesn't nap well, he loves the puppies & watching them wrestle, he loves his bottle, he is ALL boy & loves to be hung upside down, thrown around, & wrestled with. A little about Alexa : She is a princess & loves to be held, she wakes up happy every morning & from every nap, she is an early riser but makes up for it with 3 two-hour naps a day, you can't get a spoon with veggies or fruit in her mouth fast enough, she loves to chew on her two fingers, she loves to be read to, she loves her binky...
