Hollie's Baptism Day

Our niece Hollie Herdan was baptised on Saturday January 5, 2013.

We love that we live close enough to our families to be a part of these types of events! We are so excited for Hollies decision to be baptized. Scott's brother Chris had the chance to baptise her and Scott and Russ were the witnesses. I gave a talk about the Holy Ghost and related the Holy Ghost to the game Red light Green Light since I knew Hollie loves this game!

She looked beautiful and so happy!

We are so proud of Hollie and so grateful we were able to be part of her big day.

The Life of a Stay at Home Working Mom....

Some days.... like today... it takes all my creativity to try and keep Luke busy so I can get work done since I am still working full time from home!

I think Luke is missing the Christmas break when he had the house full of people for two weeks to keep him busy and entertained. I don't think he likes me being back in front of a computer all day and Scott gone at work until 5.

Today I decided to set up a "Tape City" for him to play with all his cars and new toys from Christmas.... we had a Zoo, an Airport, a Gas Station, and an amusement park!

It kept him busy for most of the day, thankfully! When he got board we watched Cars 2 for the 3rd time in 2 days.... Luke is kind of in love with Cars and calls Lightning McQueen "Queeeen".

Luke also had a blast playing the the Zoo and working on his animal noises. Today he learned the difference the Daddy Lion and the Baby Lion make... its pretty funny when he does it... he will make a good lion roar for the dad and a little quiet roar for the baby.

We tried to work on learning the difference between Pumpkins and Apples... Luke calls EVERYTHING a pumpkin... Apples, Oranges, Pears... they are ALL pumpkins! We had no luck but he enjoyed throwing the papers around like airplanes which kept him buys a little longer for me to get a little more work done!

Luke and I are both ready for it to be 5 when dad gets home! Today we started a Dad chant when we knew he was close to being home and Luke was all giddy when he finally walked in!
These two are too silly when they are together, they are definitely buds! Luke loved showing his daddy his car track when he got home.

It definitely is not easy working full time from home and being a stay at home mom... I am usually stuck in my PJ's all day, spend most of my nights catching up on work, have no time for crafts, feel guilty a lot for not giving Luke more attention during the day and using the TV as a babysitter, we have no time for play dates unless its a quick lunch break....  but I wouldn't tread being home with Luke for anything and feel very blessed we have had the chance to have two incomes! Having my job has been a major blessing for Scott and I, it has put him through School, given us great insurance to start our family, taught me a lot about myself, given me confidence and knowledge to provide for my family if ever needed, and now the chance to buy a home if one of our offers ever works out! :)

Don't Mess with a Protective Mom!

On new years day my dad and the boys were working in the front yard. I went out to talk to them and notices a spotted item in a plant next to us.... it was a baby rattle snake! I don't think this little snake realized who he was messing with when he thought he could live in our front yard but he made a very poor choice because a very protective mom lives here! I wouldn't even let the guys move it to the canyon because I didn't want to take any chances of it coming back! My dad was kind enough to take care of the snake for me so we don't have to worry about seeing him again!

I don't mind friendly pet snakes but I HATE rattle snakes!

RIP Baby Rattler!

Starting the New Year off right!

We started new years morning off with a walk on the beach with the family.

I love where we live... and after walking on the beach I decided I need to take more advantage of it this year! I always leave the beach in such a good mood!

Happy New Years!

We planned a last minute New Years Eve Party with the Perdues, Brooke, Will, Greg, my parents, and the Wilsons! We had a blast! We chatted, eat way too much, played "The game of Things" (a great big group party game that can provide lots of laughs), and counted down to midnight!

I loved starting the new year with family and great friends!

The New Addition to the Family

On new years eve we decided to take advantage of Brooke being in town, the end of the year and month, and go car shopping at Carlsbad Lexus where Brooke use to work! After 4 hours we walked away with a car! We bought a 2006 Lexus ES 330. It had to be an older couples car they hardly used because it only had 35,000 miles on it and was in perfect condition.

We decided it was finally time for us to get a second car since baby #2 is on her way. We have gone the last 4 and a half years with 1 car and it has worked out just fine being in Idaho and while in California living so close to work. Now with two kids it will be a lot harder to share a car and drop Scott off at work when we need the car so we decided to make an addition to the family.

We found a steal of a deal and are very pleased with our new purchase! Brooke was able to hook us up with the best sales guy at Lexus Carlsbad, Bob Delaney and they even gave us the employee pricing on the extended warranty. We felt pampered with the free sodas and snacks! Bob even gave us a call a few days later to check and see how we were liking the car and make sure everything was going well.

Luke lasted the whole 4 hours and was a champ! He fell asleep on the way home which only happens when he is way past tired but thankfully he made it through the whole experience!

I am loving knowing I have a car at the house to get out if needed. We already have taken advantage of having a car and have enjoyed a lunch play date with Brittany and Callen! I am looking forward to a little more freedom now with two cars!

5 Year Anniversary

On December 29, 2012 Scott and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary!

It has been the best 5 years of my life! Scott is a wonderful, fun, supportive, loving, caring husband and father. He's my best friend and I love every day because I know he's by my side!

I woke up to white roses and chocolates from Scott and a little later he gave me a new watch that I have been admiring! I was excited for the gift I made for him this year! I put together a scrapbook of our life as friends up to us getting married. I had so much fun going through old pictures of us and remembering our dates and memories together from that time of our life! He loved the book and I can't wait to have a house of our own to have it out on our coffee table!
We tried to make a fun weekend get away but it didn't work out so at the last minute we left Luke with my parents on Saturday night and at least got away for a few hours for a date night. Scott made me go shopping for a new pair of maternity jeans because I only had one pair that I liked. I found a pair I loved and was very grateful cause I know how much he hates shopping with me! I let him go look at guns at a gun store, it was a new experience for me and I am a little worried about who owns a gun in this world after seeing the people who were buying them! We then went to dinner at Norte since Scott hadn't been.

It was a nice evening out as a couple! I can't wait to see what the next 5 years brings us!

Christmas Eve with the Hardys

This year we decided we would spend Christmas Eve with one family and Christmas Day with the other side of the family. This year was Christmas Eve with the Hardy's and we had such a fun time! Luke loves his cousins and they love chasing him around the house and making him laugh which they do very well!

We enjoyed a fun dinner at the Hardy's with Scott parents, Chris, Sarah and the kids, and Grandma and Grandpa Argyle. After we  decorated sugar cookies which I plan to make a Christmas eve tradition in our home to leave for Santa. My friend Lindsay gave me her family recipe that is AMAZING and the cookies were a big hit! Scott also showed the cousins an App he found that tracked where Santa was at on the map all night so they kept checking the tablet to see Santa's progress!

After we decorated cookies we exchanged gifts. We gave photo Calendars to the girls in the Hardy family from the family photo session we did all together earlier in the year. All the kids got Russ a watch which he was in need of! I also found a Zombie Christmas Carols book for all the Hardy Boys which was a big hit! Scott didn't know about it until Christmas because Ryan gave him a copy of it but he loved it!  The Hardy's gave us Zoo passes again which we loved last year and are excited to have again this year, especially since a few of our friends have been getting passes we will be able to all go together!

As always we opened one gift on Christmas Eve... PJs! This year since Luke is in LOVE with Cat in the Hat I was on a mission to have a Cat in the Hat themed Christmas Eve PJs! I found these awesome footie's that would have been great but when they arrived they didn't fit with my big belly so I was so excited when I found these shirts at Target that were a good back up plan! Scott had no idea what I had planned and he got a good laugh at them when he saw! Luke also got his very own Cat in the Hat stuffed animal that he was terrified of for a while but has finally warmed up to and now likes!

This was our first year of getting to be Santa's little helpers on Christmas Eve since Luke's toys required assembly!  Scott took the responsibility of being Santa's helper very seriously and made sure to wear his protective eye gear at all times during the assembly!

I felt like I was a kid again trying to fall asleep on Christmas Eve out of the excitement I had to watch Luke open and play with his gifts in the morning. Sadly as soon as I was able to fall asleep Luke woke us up screaming. We have been trying to let him cry it out when he wakes up because nothing seams to comfort him but being that it was Christmas I couldn't let him cry it out! I spent most of the night up with him trying to rock back to sleep. I think I ended up with only 3 hours of sleep which resulted in a very sleepy Christmas day!
