Sunday Afternoon

After church (and lunch) we decided to go into the city for evening service at a Church of Scotland across the city. We left early and on the way in we stopped at a very nice walk along the water way. Many of you might know that you can go by boat across Scotland from Inverness to to Sky, well this water way is the Inverness entrance which leads through to Loch Ness and the Loch Ness monster. They use a very interesting system of pumping and during water to allow boats to get across. We are often stopped at a bridge on our way into the city due to boats going through these water systems. An ice cream truck came by at the end of our walk so Gaius enjoyed some mint chocolate chip ice cream. I know many of you are wondering if Andrew got ice cream in his hair--well he didn't get any in his hair but he did get ice cream down his back!
The bridge behind Gaius is a suspension bridge that connects the Black Isle (North of Scotland) and Inverness. This water goes straight out to the ocean by Fort George (you saw photos of Fort George earlier in the year--see archives). Boats come in between two of these damn like systems then water is filled so the boat is then level with the next section of water.
The water to the right is the water system and to the left is water from the ocean.

Saturday Afternoon Fun!

This Saturday we decided to drive to a town called Canich which is about 30 min away from us as we thought you might enjoy seeing a few photos. There are a number of beautiful walks just up the hill from Canich, water falls, rivers, and over all beautiufl country sided. We sure do enjoy living in such a beautiful country.

Like Father Like Son

Had to take a photo of this...I found Gaius sitting on the coach just like his daddy looking at him with a huge smile on his face. Of course as it always is the way, I missed the moment when he was looking at Andrew but got a few cute shots.
I was also realizing (as I finished adding the last photos) that it is probably not a good thing to put the "mother" of the child in charge of updating the web site---you end up with a whole lot of photos of her child:) Well at least grand moms and pa's, aunts and uncles, and adopted aunts and uncles don't mind. But for the rest of you my apologize I will try not to get to carried away with photos of Gaius!

Shopping

Some of you might wander about our day to day living. I happened to have my camera in my purse while we were doing our grocery shopping at a store called Lidl, this is a cheap store that carries lots of European products.

Swimming Fun

Due to the cold and ever present and persistent rain we have needed to find another activity to keep Gaius and I busy during this summer holiday (vacation), than playing outside. We have joined a center that has a large swimming pool (5 different pools and three large slides), work out gym, gymnasium and much more. I try to take Gaius in two or three times a week if it is rainy to go swimming.

Our New Digital Camera

We must send a big thanks to one of our supports in the U.S. who heard that our digital camera was broken and sent us a new one. It arrived today!!! and we are all excited to be able to start sending photos again. This was the first photo I took on the new camera, Gaius sitting on the table with the remains of a chocolate cookie on his face (entertainment while I looked at the new camera). Thanks Again!

NEWSLETTER

Newsletter Update: JULY 2007

This month has been a bit different as the schools are all out for the summer break, so all the normal events of the week are no longer happening. The Lord continues to bless and take care of us and for that we are very grateful.

(FAMILY)
Baby #2: At this point only God knows if its a boy or a girl and only Andrew and I know the name it will have dependent on the sex. However what we can tell you is that the little baby is growing and kicking up a storm especially at night as I am trying to go to sleep--its always fun to feel a baby kicking around. Momma, a.k.a. the oven is doing well also.

Gaius: Just as active as ever and now beginning to talk. Last month he talk continually with out a single understandable word. This month he has started to say more and more words and will occasionally copy what you stay, shoe..shoe etc. He and our dog Max or as Gaius says Mats really enjoy one another and enjoy playing around out sided together digging in the garden. The story of the month for those two is...
Last week on one of our few sunny days I decided to let the boy and his dog play outside (alone) together. 10 minutes later I go out to check on them and neither of them are anywhere to be found. My heart is doing leaps in my chest and I am screaming at the top of my longs for both dog and boy. Poor Andrew was forced to jump out of the shower and help me look outside. After about 10 minutes I find them around the back in our neighbours goose pen playing with the buckets of water together--covered in mud. Well Gaius had opened the front gate and lead his dog on a walk. After a couple of hours my pulse returned to normal while dog and baby were safely locked in the house. We now make sure the front gate is well latched before letting the two scoundrels out.

Eleanor: Not to much new for me the tummy is growing and hopefully only the tummy! I am quite busy with keeping everyone entertained during the summer--cold and wet as it is--but we are enjoying lots of swimming in town. The ladies bible study finished up with the Philippians study(which was a wonderful study), we are continuing to have our Ladies Nights Out events each month. This Friday we will be having another event for anyone who is in town.

Andrew: Is continuing to work on his studies through the summer while we are at home. His studies are going well and Lord willing by the end of this first year he will have finished a large portion of his research. He is also keeping busy with preaching and teaching at KFC and in the following months he will be doing more preaching and teaching at other churches as well.

(CHURCH)
KFC: Church is going well. The people here are a joy to work with and so loving and kind to us. Andrew is continuing in his series through John--which is truly a joy and blessings to hear. This Wednesday we finished a study on Hebrews 11 and we look forward to what he has in store for us next.

(OTHER)
AUGUST: We have a very busy schedule for August so please remember us in your prayers. Mom and Dad a.k.a. Helen and Robert will be arriving in Glasgow on the 2nd of August and we will be driving down to Glasgow to stay for a week at that same time. We can not wait to see them and get the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups comeing in their bags!

Please be praying for these up coming events:
  • Dad will be speaking at the Round Table Discussions down in Oxford and after he and mom return they will be traveling up to Inverness to spend some busy time.

  • Dad will be preaching at KFC along with at least one other church in the city.

  • Dad will be leading our Wednesday Bible Study with a topic related to LIVE ministry.

  • 17 and 18th we will be holding our Ladies Retreat and Mom will be the guest speaker. This should be a wonderful event for both non-Christians and Christians.

  • Dad will be speaking at the Men's Night Out with a topic related to LIVE ministry.

  • Andrew will have a very full preaching schedule as he will be preaching in at a Free Church in the city in the evening a couple of Sundays as well as at KFC.

Needless to say we have an exciting month planned for August but we will need your prayers for all these events. Can't wait to show you photos of all these events next month! Thanks for your prayers.
