On January 6, I had an open house in Corona, CA (my home town).

Day 10, 5:49 p.m.

I think I am done working for the day. Well, maybe.

I've spent most of the day sanding, taping, preparing, and painting our kitchen. And guess what? It's RED.

So far...

My Mom love it.

My Dad is...hmmm...let's say...undecided.

My Brother just says...Whoa!

For me...Change is good.

On another note. I bought our tickets from Bali, Indonesia to Singapore this morning. They cost $80 for both of us. Isn't that amazing a 2.5 hour flight that only cost $40 bucks a ticket. Man, I love exchange rates!

Thank you Air Asia!

Day 11, 5:23 a.m.

I am a little concerned that I have already entered the realm of pre-wedding anticipation sleeplessness. I have always been that type. I distinctly remember the intense excitement that filled my boyish heart as I prepared for my first trip to Seaworld. I slept, but woke up early in the morning consumed with anticipation.

Yesterday morning, the pattern repeated itself. I woke up to anticipation, but I heard rain and started to worry. During construction we removed some of our roof tiles, and I was worried the roof was going to leak and create one more job. Ugggh. So I jumped out of bed, put on a yellow rain slicker, and climbed up on the roof in the rain and darkness to cover part of the roof with a tarp.

I guess my mom "heard the clatter" and jump out of bed to see what was the matter. The funny thing is that I did everything with bare feet.

Anyway, about 30 minutes later the rain stopped and the sun came out. Hmmm...

Note to Stefanie:

Dear Babe,

I have a bad feeling that I am going to be waking you up in the morning quite a bit. Prepare yourself.

Love, Scott

Day 12, 10 a.m.

We are officially into Wedding Countdown Mode, 12 Days to go!!!

I woke up this morning to sound of workers bustling around outside my window trying to get the cement mixer going. So I went down stairs and before I could get the sleepers out of my eyes, my mom told me we had a little fire with our freezer, and my dad put wire cutters in my hand to take down the safety fence around our property.

Wow, that got me going, but it didn't stop there.

These are the workers putting in the block wall around our house.

Here is the switch that could have burned our little house to the ground, grateful for small blessings. I actually plugged it into an extension cord yesterday, but it didn't go in all the way. Let this be a lesson for us all.

I spent most of the day pulling wall paper off the walls in the kitchen. Did you know this job is kind of a nightmare?

John dug up some huge palm trees out of our garden and we replanted them at the nursery. They were some heavy beasts!

And he installed a new sink.

And we're still finishing the stone work on the BBQ!

Anyway, I took all these pictures at 10 a.m. It was a busy day, but I really enjoyed it. I guess I'm just glad I can help get ready for the open house. I am so grateful to my parents for doing so much to make these days spectacular for Stef and me.

I am so thrilled, excited, and enthused. Can't wait!

Dear Robbers: [Part 2]

Well, it has been several days since you violated my life, and I wanted to fill you in what I've done since then. I endured a period of disappointment, searched high and low for a window that was cheaper than the one at the dealership (It cost $790), and arrived for my window appointment only to find they ordered in the wrong window. But, in the end, I got a new window and it is great.

That's not all the good news...

I got a call this afternoon from some random guy down my street. He said, "Hi, is this Scott Hathaway? Me: "Yes" Him: "Well, I just found you temple bag in my trash dumpster."

WHAT! WHAT!

I got my stuff back!!

Ask, and ye shall receive!!
