I am most fortunate and happy to have had the chance to bring some hope and joy to the students in Don Bosco Vocational Centre at Toul Kouk, Phnom Penh, Cambodia, through an annual teaching stint and connecting with the principal, Sister Leeza, to understand more of student's needs and aspirations. I am very lucky and happy to have been able to contribute to improving their learning resources through content and technology. I truly wish the best to all of the really deserving students of Don Bosco! Thank God for my opportunity to serve!

It really opened up my eyes to see how fortunate we all are to have modern conveniences available and taken for granted here in Singapore. Basic things we take for granted including healthcare, a clean environment, transportation, utilities, food, housing, education, jobs, and a decent salary to raise a family. For many, these are not sufficient, and not available, mostly due to their lot in life.

The capitalistic pursuit of money can easily lead to degradation of respect for humanity and human dignity. The idea of a corporate ladder necessitates stepping on someone below, until everyone on the ladder is no longer human, merely machines that have to "perform". Luckily, most of us are still human, with hearts and souls, and who feel for our fellow man.

I encourage you to consider volunteering. Whatever "stage" you may think you are in your "career" you need to promote the humanity in you.

    By volunteering.
