Water stenciling

Yes, water stenciling is the Technique Lovers Challenge at Splitcoast this week.  There is a technique video to help you see how it is done....easy and cool effects!

This card uses a stencil over Distress Oxide inks and then water is spritzed on and a paper towel over the open areas after a few minutes......  I stamped and fussy cut the MFT images and used Copics to color them.  A few dots and dashes using a white gel pen.....A Recollections cloud stencil was used for the sky.  Always happy to ink up stamps that I have not used before.  I will give this to my hubby!

This is the other side of the stencil, spritzed with water....  and a paper towel over it....  I looked up the Teapot Tiesday post- we make cards for people having health challenges or something in their life where they need a boost.  I so love this challenge.  This is for a woman who broke her Tibia/Fibula and is on crutches...she also teaches math, so we were challenged to have a number on the card.  The image has numbers on it, so perfect!  I left the lighthouse uncolored, I like it this way.  I made a walkway out of grey cardstock, scored it and highlighted it with a Copic marker.  I added dots with a white gel pen.  The sentiment is Unity- and it is a new adventure using crutches- my hubby broke his fibula playing baseball a couple of years ago.....!  Inside sentiment (Unity)  says- Hope you feel better a little more each day. The Lighthouse is fussy cut- and is from Divinity Designs.

Challenges: TBA

Under His Feathers.....

I created a card for the Teapot Tuesday challenge at Splitcoaststampers, and used the colors from the color challenge as well. The Teapot party this week if for a fellow Alpha challenge member- she lost her Mother 2 years ago and we are sending her a bug HUG!

I colored the image from Angie Blom digi Designs with Copic markers. I used a cloud stencil from A Colorful Life. The sentiment is by Our Daily Bread (Divinity Designs).  It needed a little something, so I lined the bottom cardstock with 1/4" double sided sticky tape and added Oyster glitter to the edge.

Reflecting back on our own mothers- and my memories of things she enjoyed- flowers, birds and her faith were all really important to her. To unwind, she painted porcelains and was a teacher of her art.

Happy Mother's Day to all who celebrate.  Big Hugs to those who have lost their Mom's- mine passed 12/2018. And, to all who are special to others- whether you are an Aunt, a friend, etc....  Big Hugs to you as well!

Crafters of Faith- Feathers

It's the 7th of the month, which means its time for the Crafters of Faith challenge (you guessed it, at Splitcoaststampers).
Lisa (lovinpaper) is the hostess this month, and she gave us this challenge: Scripture--Psalm 91:4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Challenge:  Use this verse to inspire your card or project.

This stamp set by Divinity Designs has the Psalm that was the challenge, so enjoyed inking it up.  I have a family of Chickadee's in my backyard, and so far they are still here in winter!  WHat a great challenge Lori!

I combined this challenge with this weeks sketch challenge as well.  The DP is by Prima.  I used a Memory Box Stitched die and the punches are Martha Stewart.
