Engaged!

Sooooo, things have been a little crazy around here lately. Exciting times here at the Sheridan household! Most everyone knows that Mitch has met has met the girl of his dreams. Gina is a good friend of our little niece Ali and one day Aunt Kathleen told her that they should line Gina up with Mitch. Well the rest is history. They hit it off from the very start and it was very evident to them and to everyone around them, that they would end up together. She is an awesome girl, beautiful on the inside and out. As a mom you hope and pray that your kids will marry someone that will love them and be there for them always. It makes me so happy to see how happy they are together.

So he popped the big question and she said yes! He took her to dinner and while they were there Maddi and I took his guitar and a blanket, a bunch of roses and the ring up to the Bountiful Temple grounds. After dinner he took her on a drive and they ended up there and he got her out of the car to walk around the temple. ( it was freezing cold!) Maddi and I hid the stuff in a spot and ran and hid in the bushes to take some pictures. He played her one of her favorite songs he learned on his guitar and then asked the big question. Now we are planning the big event in August. There is a lot to do but it is so fun helping them. They found a cute little basement apartment to rent and they have some furniture that family and friends are giving them so things are falling into place. Hard to believe he is all grown up and going to be moving out on his own and getting married. It seems like just yesterday he was a little boy with a bowl cut running around playing baseball it he backyard. All I know is that I am going to have some cute grand kids some day.

Happy Birthday Baby!

Happy birthday to the most awesome 11 year old in the world! It's hard to believe he is getting so old. I tell him ALL the time that no matter how old he gets he will always be my baby.
He was up early and ready to get started on his birthday fun. He asked for an omelette for breakfast and was excited to get a new baseball bat and some gear and a few other things. We took him out for dinner and came home and ate his ginormous chocolate cake.
Jake usually has a smile on his face and is so fun to be around and even though he is so much younger than his siblings, they all love him and watch out for him.

Happy birthday to my baby!

Mitch and Maddi Are Alive and Well!

Just realized all my posts are about Thomas and Jacob this time. Mitch and Maddi are doing great, just super busy with school and work. It's rough being poor college students! Maddi just got herself a cute new car. I will have to post a picture of it later. Both of them are doing well in school and most days go straight to work from school so we don't see them very much. But when they are home it's always a party!

Spring is in the Air

The sun was shining and the snow was melting today, FINALLY!

When the lawn gets cleared off enough it means it is time to start playing catch. I am counting down the days until Jake starts playing ball and days like today make it seem a little closer. Too bad we are supposed to get another storm in the next day or two. Oh well, at least he got a few throws in today.

Cap'n Thomas and MVP

Last night we ended the high school season with our end of year banquet. It was a fun night and exciting when Thomas was named as a Captain of the team next year. He was also awarded the overall MVP of the boys team for the 3rd year in a row. He has such a great group of swimming friends and an awesome coach who we are SO lucky to have! High school swim season is really long and I am glad to have a break, even if it is only for a while until we have to start planning next season.

Happy Birthday to Thomas!

I can't believe he is 17. He had a fun day and got a video game, concert tickets and his favorite, Pop Tarts! I made him a kitty cat cake because he wants a cat but we can't have one because of my allergies so he got a cake instead. Thomas is the funniest kid and has us all laughing every day. I can hardly believe he is growing up so fast. He is the sweetest most lovable and hardest working swimmer I know and I am so proud to be his mom! Happy Birthday Thomas!

5th Grade Happenings

Jake had a busy February. He has been involved in the school play, he is the doorknob in Alice in Wonderland. He has been busy with Student Council,District Spelling Bee, the Constitution Bowl and the 5th grade program. Needless to say it may have been a bit much for one month. He was really nervous on the day of the Spelling Bee and didn't spell his first word right which isn't like him at all. I have to ask him how to spell words all the time. Well, there is always next year.
His team took 3rd place in the Constitution Bowl. Ask him anything about the Constitution and he can tell you. His favorite part of this month was playing Abraham Lincoln in the 5th grade program. he even made it in our local paper. He was excited to have his brothers and sister come and watch him too!

Best part about February is that it is over which means baseball season is getting closer everyday!
