Baby steps

Ok, so those are not really Madison's shoes. This is the first
time ever that I felt like I had big feet.
(p.s. I bought those this summer in the kids department) :)

Anyway, we are proud to announce that Madison
took her first official steps yesterday.
Official meaning she did not fall in attempting this trick.
We were very excited and it came at an especially good
time since she has been sick and miserable and grumpy.
We are pretty sure after a week trial and error that
Maddie has a lactose intolerance.
After switching her formula to a soy based
she started feeling better very soon.
She splashed around in her bath for about 15 minutes
straight last night, just laughing.
Anyway after almost a month of her sleeping off and on,
and waking up at 2 and staying awake until 5, then to
wake for the day at 6, she is finally sleeping again and she
is no longer sick.
This means happier Madison and happier parents. :)

Maddie's new spot

Madison now waves when we say, "Hi" or "Bye" (we're very proud!)
She also waves at our apartment when we are leaving
(I guess she likes it here).
She also likes to wave at random people in the store,
she is very friendly.

Madison's new favorite spot in the living room
is the bottom shelf of the bookcase.
We keep moving things higher and higher out of her
reach but now she just likes to go relax in the empty space.

Note: She also does this in other people's homes
regardless of what is there. :)

I think she is trying to do a headstand.?
She is wearing off on some of the other kids
who are now trying this stunt.

Swing'n

This is a picture of Maddie on one of the many
swings she enjoys here in New Haven.
The apartment we live at is "U" shaped and inside the "U"
is a courtyard (you can see it in the background).
It is a free for all of children's toys.
Maddie's favorites are the swings, a bouncing zebra,
and anything with wheels she can push.
We have really been enjoying the cooler weather and
we have spotted some leaves that have already changed colors.
We are very excited for the fall, not so much for what
follows, but it is a necessary evil.
We are planning a trip to Vermont in a couple of
weeks, so stay tuned to see New England in the fall!

We just wish she would smile once in a while!
