It gets increasingly blurry when it comes to managing the risk of exposure on your child ๐ถ๐ป๐ง๐ป๐ง๐ป๐ฆ๐ป๐ง๐ป when deciding between various weekend activities during this RMCO. As we all aware that a child’s development & personal growth requires interaction with peers through physical & social activities. However, not all activities are weighed equally in terms of the risk of exposure
She ๐ฉ๐ปโโ๏ธ has shared how to pit these activities against guidelines setby the Ministry of Health (MoH) to help all finding the clarity in terms of managing your child ๐ถ๐ป๐ง๐ป๐ง๐ป๐ฆ๐ป๐ง๐ป’s exposure in various environments through the lens of a paediatrician
She ๐ฉ๐ปโโ๏ธ has further clarified that all must be clear with the facts 1st before taking any safety measurements on kids ๐ถ๐ป๐ง๐ป๐ง๐ป๐ฆ๐ป๐ง๐ป, be wise from being influenced by any wrong information shared whether on social medias/ WhatsApp messages etc. Yes, managed your risks & do not panic
.
โThe risk of transmission among children is at least 50% lower than adults. Let us not be too obsessive to the point where we scold our kids ๐ถ๐ป๐ง๐ป๐ง๐ป๐ฆ๐ป๐ง๐ป if they touch their eyes or if they do not wear their masks. What we can do as parents is to teach them to be mindful & wash their hands constantly.โ explained by Dr. Ng ๐ฉ๐ปโโ๏ธ
Always educate & explain nicelyto kids๐ถ๐ป๐ง๐ป๐ง๐ป๐ฆ๐ป๐ง๐ป above 5 years old about what COVID19 & its impacts, then teach them to be more mindful whenever being out, how to wash hands etc. Those below 5 yrs old, much more difficult to educate the messaging as well as to get them wear the disposable masks, instead she got her toodlers to wear cloth masks & guide them to wash hand
She ๐ฉ๐ปโโ๏ธ has reassured & clarified a Qs received from a pregnant mum that wearing mask will still provide enough oxygen to mum for her baby development, so must wear mask during pregnancy
Guest ~ Ms. Daisy Ng, Founder & CEO of Trinity Kids Malaysia๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ซ
She ๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ซ has shared the tips on optimising child’s surroundings eg. sanitising own personal space when being out so that they can continue to thrive during this worrying situation. In particularly she mentioned to learn from HK & Taiwan where practising a mandate mask wearing among the communities when unwell & to lower the risk of an individual from contracting any airborne infectious germs
As parents, it’s important to weight the exposure risk of being an uncontrollable spaces eg. playground/ park vs home, school etc.
โIt boils down to trust towards the schools that your children attend. Are they doing the right thing & taking the right measures? The government has given clear guidelines for schools to create a safe environment for children ๐ถ๐ป๐ง๐ป๐ง๐ป๐ฆ๐ป๐ง๐ป โ clarified by Ms. Daisy ๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ซ

Also she ๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ซ has shared how herself & her team are continuously working & adapting behind the scenes to create a safe controlled space for fun learning @ school ๐ซ as well as how to adopt these best practices as she has recommended at home or when you are out in public to protect your children ๐ถ๐ป๐ง๐ป๐ง๐ป๐ฆ๐ป๐ง๐ป

Lunch Actually (LA) ๐ ~~ The Asia๐โs 1๏ธโฃst & leading premier lunch ๐ด๐ฝ dating ๐๐ company has recently released the findings ๐๐๐ compiled from its Annual Singles ๐ญ๐ฌDating ๐๐ Survey 2018 ๐๐โ ย in conjuction with the 11.11 Singles ๐ญ๐ฌ ‘ Day celebration ๐๐
SiennyLovesDrawing ๐ฉ๐ปย was exclusively invited to attend this private media meetย ๐ฉ๐ง๐
This survey๐๐โ was conducted with 1.3k++ respondents ๐ซ๐ญ๐ฌ aka singles living in Singapore ๐ธ๐ฌ , Malaysia ๐ฒ๐พ , Hong Kong ๐ญ๐ฐ , Indonesia ๐ฎ๐ฉ & Thailand ๐น๐ญ The respondents๐ญ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฌโ gender ratio of 45% males ๐ฌ vs 55% females ๐ญ in the age groups between 26 to 45 years old ๐
โRecently, the trend of slow ๐ dating ๐๐ has emerged among singles ๐ญ๐ฌ where they no longer prefer having unlimited options when it comes to their potential matches. They are starting to prioritise quality over quantity.โ Ms. Violet Lim ๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ผ , CEO & Co-Founder of LA ๐๐
โOur past surveys๐๐โ , as recent as last year, showed that singles ๐ญ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฌ are definitely more receptive โ in finding suitable partners ๐ซ through online dating ๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ป๐จ๐ปโ๐ป๐๐However, we are curious ๐ค to know how singles ๐ญ๐ฌ truly perceive online dating ๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ป๐จ๐ปโ๐ป ๐๐ in 2018, with more & more โฌ๏ธ online dating ๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ป๐จ๐ปโ๐ป๐๐ platforms being made available in the market,โ She ๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ผ has added
It has captured some interesting data ๐๐๐ on shifting perception of online dating๐จ๐ปโ๐ป๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ป๐๐ , attitudes & trends around online dating๐จ๐ปโ๐ป๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ป๐๐, dating goals & preferences in this digital of technology & social media ๐
75% of singles ๐ญ๐ฌ with online dating ๐จ๐ปโ๐ป๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ป๐๐ are indeed looking for a true relationship, although more than half of them admitted that their online dating๐จ๐ปโ๐ป๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ป๐๐ experience has been -ve๐๐, especially for singles ๐ญ๐ฌ in Singapore ๐ธ๐ฌ i.e. 69% for females๐ญ & 61% males๐ฌ
Hmm…How about for those who have not โ even started with online dating๐จ๐ปโ๐ป๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ป๐๐โโ๏ธ
The top๐๐ปreasons for not โ using online dating๐จ๐ปโ๐ป๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ป๐๐are,
61% are worried ๐ง about meeting scammers
37% are having heard๐๐ปa lot of bad ๐๐ป experiences from other people
Across all genders & countries , 70% of singles๐ญ๐ฌ have used online dating ๐จ๐ปโ๐ป๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ป๐๐ with 61% of them still highly prefer to meet potential partners ๐ซ๐ซ through organic introductions either in public places or recommendations from friends ๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ etc.
Dating Behaviour via Online Dating๐จ๐ปโ๐ป๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ป๐๐
Overall, 18% of singles ๐ญ๐ฌ spend time to create a good ๐๐ป profile on dating apps ๐๐๐ฒ
However, 60% admitted to read ๐ other dating ๐๐ profiles in details, to decide ๐ค whether they are interested โ
Guess whatโโ๏ธ
Only 6% Hong Kong ladies ๐ญ๐ฐ๐ญ๐ญ will spend time to create a good ๐๐ป profile vs 69% of them only read ๐ the profiles of the men ๐ฌ๐ฌ in details
40% of Singaporean females ๐ธ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ญ do not text ๐ณ 1๏ธโฃst vs 34% for Malaysian females๐ฒ๐พ๐ญ๐ญ 64% of Hong Kong females๐ญ๐ฐ๐ญ๐ญ, on the other hand, take initiative & would text ๐ณ their matches ๐ฌ๐ฌ 1๏ธโฃst if they like ๐ what they see ๐๐๐ฒ
Dating ๐๐ Preferences
When it comes to online dating๐จ๐ปโ๐ป๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ป๐๐, women ๐ญ๐ญ are as likely as men ๐ฌ๐ฌ to focus on physical ๐๐๐ attraction ๐
This survey ๐๐โ has shown that ladies ๐ญ๐ญ choose physical appearance (height, body type, teeth, skin color) as the most important criteria when they decide whether to meet their match offline ๐ซ
While texting ๐ณ etiquette is more important for ladies๐ญ๐ญ, men๐ฌ๐ฌ are more focused on the dating๐๐profiles of the ladies๐ญ๐ญ
However, an exception can be seen in Malaysian singles ๐ฒ๐พ๐ญ๐ฌ who do not rank physical appearance as the most important criteria. On the opposite spectrum, 45% of single men ๐ฌ๐ฌ in Hong Kong ๐ญ๐ฐ place this as the most important

Most important for female (across all),
23% Physical appearance (height, body type, teeth, skin color etc.)
22% Texting ๐ณ etiquette
20% Religion
Most important for male (across all):
24% Physical appearance (height, body type, teeth, skin color etc.)
21% The ladies๐ญ๐ญโ description of themselves in their dating ๐๐ profile
18% Race
However, once you get past the online dating ๐จ๐ปโ๐ป๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ป๐๐ funnel & you meet in real life for the 1๏ธโฃst time, the top 3๏ธโฃ turn-offs are not about how you look at all. These are the top 3๏ธโฃ turn-offs ๐ when it comes to 1๏ธโฃst dates: Their manner (how they treat you & the service staff) (67%), being -ve (50%) & lack of interest (48%). These are the same results for both men ๐ฌ๐ฌ & women๐ญ๐ญ, across all countries๐
66% of singles ๐ญ๐ฌ is open to dating people from another race. However, the exception to this is Malaysian female ๐ฒ๐พ๐ญ๐ญ with 53.66% of them saying no โ to dating people from another race as compared to Singaporean female ๐ธ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ญ (42% says no) & Hong Kong Female ๐ญ๐ฐ๐ญ๐ญ(37% says no)
Most open to interracial dating are Indonesian females (94%) ๐ฎ๐ฉ ๐ญ๐ญ, Thailand females (91%) ๐น๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ & Thailand men (86%) ๐น๐ญ๐ฌ๐ฌ
Overall, more female (34%) ๐ญ๐ญ believe in going Dutch on the 1๏ธโฃst date as compared to male (25%) ๐ฌ๐ฌ Noteworthy result comes from Hong Kong ๐ญ๐ฐ , where higher statistics were observed with 41% of males ๐ฌ๐ฌ & 45% of females ๐ญ๐ญ prefer to go Dutch on the 1๏ธโฃst date. Thailand men ๐น๐ญ๐ฌ๐ฌ are the most โgentlemanโ with the highest percentage (61%) who believe they should pay ๐ฐ on the 1st date
Future Trends Of Dating ๐๐
Some singles ๐ฌ๐ญ are more comfortable with their single ๐ฌ๐ญ status – despite majority wanting to get married ๐คต๐ป๐ฐ๐ป & be in a committed relationship, 20% of them are not actively looking for a partner & 29% of those who are not actively seeking have cited that they like being single ๐ฌ๐ญ to embracing their freedom (29%). This is especially true for Singaporean females ๐ธ๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ญ where 49% of those not actively looking for a partner as they enjoy being single ๐ญ๐ฌ
With the shift of online dating ๐จ๐ปโ๐ป๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ป๐๐ perception from the swiping culture to slow dating, it’s not surprising that more singles ๐ญ๐ฌ highly prefer a more organic way of meeting potential partners through organic introductions e.g. meeting in public places/ recommendations from friends ๐
โ1๏ธโฃ of the key reasons why singles ๐ญ๐ฌ like using online dating ๐จ๐ปโ๐ป๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ป๐๐ is because itโs easy & comfortable to use & itโs free ๐ & requires no commitment. Based on the survey results ๐๐๐, many singles ๐ญ๐ฌ are actively looking & swiping online. Interestingly, they are not interested in investing much time/ effort in preparing their profile but they expect others to as many of them spend time reading ๐ the profiles,โย Ms. Violet shared ๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ผ
