Malaysian Heritage: Telepuk Textile Art

During a recent visit to Karnival Komuniti Kraf 2025, SiennyLovesDrawing ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป has learnt about Telepuk textile art in Selangor for the 1๏ธโƒฃst time

Telepuk is the most glorious Malay textile & is associated with royalty & the nobility. It was especially prominent in states like Selangor, Pahang, Terengganu, Perak & Johor. Its historical significance is captured in Malay manuscripts such as Syair Siti Zubaidah Perang Chik, where it’s referred to as “perada”

In the state of Selangor, Telepuk textile is a rich fabric usually worn by the royalty & nobility members since 300 years ago. It’s widely used during the reign of the High Royal Highness Sultan Sir Hishamuddin Alam Shah Al-haj ๐Ÿ‘‘ (1938-1960) & worn by his consort the Royal Highness Tengku Ampuan Jemaah

The tradition of Telepuk art has continued since the beginning of the formation of the Sultanate of Selangor in 1766, based on the discovery of cultural artifacts in the form of Telepuk stamp belonging to Raja Penuh, the son of Raja Lumu, the 1๏ธโƒฃst Sultan of Selangor. The stamp engraved with the name of Raja Penuh is kept on Daik Island, Lingga Regency, Riau Islands Province, Indonesia ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฉ

The use of Telepuk art cloth continued until the next reign. From here, the tradition of Telepuk art developed in the Selangor Palace ๐Ÿ‘‘ & the use of telepuk cloth continued during the reigns of Sultan Abdul Samad Ibni Raja Abdullah (1857-1898), Sultan Ala’eddin Suleiman Shah Ibni Raja Muda Musa (1898-1938), Sultan Hisamuddin Alam Shah Alhaj Ibni Sultan Ala’eddin Suleiman Shah (1938-1942) & (1945-1960) & Sultan Musa Giatuddin Riayat Shah Ibni Sultan Ala’eddin Suleiman Shah (1942-1945)

SiennyLovesDrawing ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป has learnt this art technique briefly from the friendly carnival staff on duty at the carnival

This traditional technique involves creating motifs & designs on fabric, especially woven cloth, using a stamping technique with gold ๐Ÿ’› leaf, often uses 24K gold ๐Ÿ’› leaf

The process started with stamp Arabic gum onto the forearm, followed by the telepuk stamp carved with motifs. The gum acts as an adhesive for the gold ๐Ÿ’› leaf, which is then pressed onto the fabric

Gold ๐Ÿ’› leaf is imported from Thailand ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ for its superior quality. It’s produced in Thailand because it’s traditionally used in the royal attire of the King of Thailand ๐Ÿ‘‘

It refers to a traditional textile art that is recognized as a royal heritage & is currently in the process of being gazetted as the Official Textile Art Heritage of the State of Selangor

โ™ฌ Gamelan Symphony – FASSounds

This art produces luxurious decorations using gold ๐Ÿ’› tinsel on fabric, which was once styled by the palace ๐Ÿ‘‘ & royal families, & is now being worked on to preserve & elevate its dignity through various programs & documentation

However, no water โŒ๐Ÿ’ฆ or hand wash on Telepuk art textiles because it can damage the golden ๐Ÿ’› motifs which adorned the textile’s surface. She has understood briefly about the art of washing Telepuk textile which requires special techniques to preserve the cloth. After each wear, it’s cleaned by smoking aka โ€œBertunuโ€ in Malay language. Bertunu means drying the cloth with fragrant smoke produced from traditional ingredients burned in a steaming container & placed under a rattan trap

Traditional fragrance ingredients for making dry laundry with 7๏ธโƒฃ dried plants are Rose ๐ŸŒน, Jasmine, Kenanga, (Tpaka, Kesidang, Tanjung, Kemunting, some other woods ๐Ÿชต & fragrances eg. Agarwood, iatincana, kasturi wood, hampastebu, frankincense & white granulated sugar are impregnated. These ingredients when mixed will produce a fragrant aroma

The dry laundry process is usually done by burning ๐Ÿ”ฅ the ingredients in a large impregnating container & placed under a rattan trap. The Telepuk clothes will be placed on the rattan trap & turned over several times until all parts receive fragrant smoke & last up to 3๏ธโƒฃ months

Recognition as heritage: The Selangor State Government is actively conducting research & documentation to gazette the Telepuk art as an official state heritage. This effort is expected to be completed & gazetted in near future to ensure that this art is preserved for future generations

History & uses: This heritage art has been in Selangor for a long time & has even been a symbol of pride for the royal ๐Ÿ‘‘ family for the past 300 years. It’s used to decorate ceremonial clothing such as tanjak, samping & selendang worn for official events & weddings. Telepuk art is also used in decorating the wings of the Wau Kapal, the official Selangor kite, using gold ๐Ÿ’› tinsel or carved colored paper

Production process: The process involves pasting flower motifs with gold ๐Ÿ’› tinsel on fine fabric using the woodblock technique. The attached gold tinsel gives the fabric a unique shine โœจ

Conservation efforts: The Selangor Public Library Corporation (PPAS) has launched a special book titled ‘TELEPUK, Bunga-bunga Emas Yang Dilupai’ to promote this art. Demonstrations of this art production are also held at Muzium Selangor ๐Ÿ›๏ธ to expose the public to the subtleties of this heritage traditional art

SiennyLovesDrawing ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป has learnt a deeper appreciation ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’– for the artistry, history & ongoing efforts to conserve & preserve this heritage traditions alive ~ Telepuk Textile Art

Though it’s not popular & the choice of ideas to the local fashion designers. Today younger generations, especially Malays are not familiar & unacknowledged about this Telepuk textile art as the great ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป Malay traditional textile art form. This preservation initiative already identified the floral motif of the Telepuk textile & led to a systematic inquiry in documenting the aesthetic values of the Malay treasure of the Malay Selangor heritage textile. It also documented & compiled the aesthetic & philosophical values of treasure of the Telepuk textile as the Selangor Malay traditional royal court fabric

WATER: Aย Musical Presented by Somerset Music & Chin San Sooi

Do you all recall SiennyLovesDrawing’s earlier sharing ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ปโœ๐Ÿป here about Raising Conservation Awareness with Water ๐Ÿ’ฆ : A Musical ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽผ presented by Somerset Music & Mr Chin San Sooi from her media attendance at its press launch earlier somewhere in Augโ“โ‰๏ธ

You may read her earlier full story via ๐ŸŒย  https://siennylovesdrawing.wordpress.com/2022/09/05/raising-conservation-awareness-with-water-a-musical/

This musical ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽผ is supported by the Environmental Protection Society of Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ as an interactive musical play. All audiences were encouraged to engage with the cast members by joining in the discussion by sharing responses ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ฅ๐Ÿ‘ค, singing ๐ŸŽค๐Ÿ‘„ & dancing ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ•บ throughout the play

WATER ๐Ÿ’ฆ has always been a medium through which the most catastrophic disasters are portrayed ie. Floods ๐ŸŒŠ, droughts, landslides, forest fires ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐ŸŒณ, water-borne diseases, water pollution etc. WATER ๐Ÿ’ฆ maybe just next to air is the most important element to living on earth ๐ŸŒŽ for all. So, this musical ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽผย  tittle to better compel the attention of all to safeguard & protect the planet that we all are living on currently ๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŒŽ

.

So, the synopsis of this musical is very simple to achieve the educational & awareness of flora fauna conservation messaging to the audiences. It’s about in a forest ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒณ clearing, tiger ๐Ÿ… ๐Ÿฏ & the other animals (Mouse deer ๐ŸฆŒย  , elephant ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜,ย  Warthog ๐Ÿ—, monkey ๐Ÿต๐Ÿต) gather to discuss human’s destruction of the environment. Yes โœ…, it was discussed how the humans plunder the forest ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒณ, the animals’ home & the effects of that on the environment with the subsequent tainting of the waterways, also seek the responses from the audiences on the negative impacts ie. The result of human wanting things they donโ€™t need. The human supposedly to live with the surrounding environment, then to balance the explosion or greed of their needs. For example, the deforestation of the National Park in Pahang, Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ

There are a total of 8๏ธโƒฃ songs in this 1๏ธโƒฃ hour musical ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽผ,

  • Little Drops of Water
  • I am a Vegetarian ~ Personally, SiennyLovesDrawing ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’• loves the lyrics of this song led by Madam Elephant ๐Ÿ˜cast member of this musical
  • So You See
  • Its My Turn
  • Turn All Around
  • How to Cook A Wildboar ~ The interactiveness with audiences just cute hand gestures from their respective seats ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป led by Mr Warthog cast member of this musical
  • I Shall Survive
  • Virus Homo Erectus ~ If SiennyLovesDrawing remembered correctly, this was the song that her little niece happily accepted Ms Monkey ๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿป๐Ÿค๐Ÿป๐Ÿต cast member invitation by holding her hands to the stage to join the sing & dance ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป Do check out her TikTok clip captured of this said interactiveness via ๐Ÿ“น๐ŸŒ https://www.tiktok.com/@siennylovesdraw/video/7147314048391056667
  • Precious Water ~ Personally, SiennyLovesDrawing ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’• loves this song the most, especially the chorus

This time, SiennyLovesDrawing would like to share her impressive love to this musical from her audience attendance with her little niece this recent weekend ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป It’s absolutely a great weekend spent

Yes โœ…, truly a great ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป musical ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽผ attended as #proudaunt SiennyLovesDrawing & her little niece really enjoyed this Water ๐Ÿ’ฆ : A Musical ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽผ Bravo to the play director, music composer, cast members, head gear designer & all crew members involved in this musical ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’•

Do check out her happy musical weekend #proudaunt bonding moment with her little niece TikTok clip captured via ๐Ÿ“น๐ŸŒ, you will sure observe how interactive throughout the musical, as well as the nice songs composed in this musical ๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

The Black Box theatre of DPAC open for audiences to enter 15mins before the musical scheduled time. ๐Ÿ†“ seating arrangement. At the entrance, each audience is given an animal card, it’s not just as a souvenir ๐ŸŽ from the musical ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽผ, instead it formed part of the interaction during the show, wow ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿคฉ

Howโ“โ‰๏ธ

If you’re holding a monkey ๐Ÿต card, you suppose to join in the interaction when being asked by monkey cast member & so on for each of the animals in the musical ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽผย  SiennyLovesDrawing ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป was given with a monkey ๐Ÿต card while her little niece was given with an elephant ๐Ÿ˜ card ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜

Before the musical starts, Mr Chin San Sooi has reminded all audiences to wear mask ๐Ÿ˜ท throughout the whole musical. From SiennyLovesDrawing’s observation as 1๏ธโƒฃ of the excited audience, ๐Ÿ’ฏ% compliance โœ… gained from all responsible audiences #kitajagakita ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

When the musical 1๏ธโƒฃst started, all the cast members appeared on stage with bright smiles ๐Ÿ˜ & wore on their respective animal’s head gear designed ๐Ÿช–, in white tee ๐Ÿค & blue jeans ๐Ÿ‘–to signify their living in a forest ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒณ It was like back to a traditional theater personally to SiennyLovesDrawing ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป where the focus all aims on the storyline, songs, cast members’ discussion, instead of technology or LED effects of a fancy high tech stage. Even the projections were very simple & straightforward to address the messages discussed on animals conservation & pollution matters. Absolutely a job well done ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป as this musical play did conveyed clear & engaged messaging to all audiences

The interactiveness between the cast members & the audiences very encouraging & really touching SiennyLovesDrawing’s heart โค๏ธ

Especially when she observed her little niece from being shy at the beginning, next joined the hand gestures with the cast members on her seat ๐Ÿ’บ, then accepted a personal invitation by a cast member, Ms Monkey ๐Ÿต to her, she then hold her hands ๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿป๐Ÿค๐Ÿป ๐Ÿต to join her on the stage to dance & sing together. Wow ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

IMG_20220926_001602

Not just that, many kids ๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿป๐Ÿง’๐Ÿป (Including special kids from NASOM) also joined the cast members to sing & dance together, truly excitement gained from the interactions during the musical. A creative & innovative way of hosting a musical, bravo ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป Do keep up the good performing arts spirit & vibes, you all had an amazing musical done ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป SiennyLovesDrawing & her little niece really enjoyed it. Her little niece already kept asking when will be the next musical ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽผ, she wanna meet the Ms Monkey ๐Ÿต again, lol ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜† Ms Monkey, if you’re reading here, you’ve gained a little fan ya ๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿต

SiennyLovesDrawing really enjoyed the ending part of this musical ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽผ where an introduction to all members involved in the success of this musical, including those behind the scene crew members. It’s really a great ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป way to share appreciation ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿปto all

Also sharing to all audiences the preparation & behind the scenes stories, yes โœ…, every success is never easy with lots of hard works. All the members involved in this Water: A Musical deserve a great applause ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป, you’ve done your very best , we look forward to your next musical ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜

Most of the audiences still stay on to take photos with the cast members before said good bye ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป & happy satisfied left the Black Box theatre

Yeah!! It’s September now, time flies : )

If you’ve been following SiennyLovesDrawing ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป’s blog stories here, you would have read about her recent art collaboration with WWF Malaysia on tiger ๐Ÿ…๐Ÿฏ conservation, read more via ๐ŸŒ https://siennylovesdrawing.wordpress.com/2022/07/29/roar-for-life-eco-festival-in-conjunction-of-global-tiger-day-by-wwf-malaysia/

This round she ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป would like to share about her recent media attendance to witness the official media launch to raising greater conservation awareness with WATER ๐Ÿ’ฆ: A Musical ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽผ presented by Somerset Music & Mr Chin San Sooi ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿป

WATER ๐Ÿ’ฆ is a musical ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽผ Tiger ๐Ÿ…๐Ÿฏ calls the animals for a meeting to discuss man’s act of deforestation which leads to the pollution of rivers. All the 7๏ธโƒฃ animals affirm the sacredness of Mother Earth ๐ŸŒ, ohh no no…๐Ÿ™…๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Guess whatโ“โ‰๏ธ

The musical ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽผ is interactive. The audience are invited to sing ๐ŸŽค & dance ๐Ÿฉฐ together with the cast members, wowโ€ผ๏ธ Absolutely gonna be an exciting & interesting musical experience with a meaningful conservation awareness raised, bravoโ€ผ๏ธ

It’s a collaboration ๐Ÿค๐Ÿป between playwright/director, Mr Chin San Sooi ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿป aka nickname in Mandarin ๅฑฑๆฐด Mountain Water, with music by Ms Joanne Poh ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ผ of Somerset Music, the audience can look forward to this 60mins of memorable cum interactive engagement with the cast members. Ms Joanne ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ผ & the cast members have proudly shared during the launch that the music is catchy & interactive for audiences to sing ๐ŸŽค & dance ๐Ÿฉฐ along with all cast members during the musical play. Wowโ€ผ๏ธ SiennyLovesDrawing ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป is looking forward toward it, how about youโ“โ‰๏ธ

Mr San Sooi ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿป said at the official media launch of WATER at Warung Old China in Kuala Lumpur (KL), West Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ, โ€œI was contemplating writing a play on the topic of conservation when I read of the deforestation that was taking place at the National Park ๐Ÿž๏ธ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒณ in Pahang, Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ many years ago. I was too earnest & the muse eluded me, till now.โ€

When the covid lockdown began, Mr San Sooi ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿป spent 4๏ธโƒฃ very productive months occupied, with the end result of finishing 8๏ธโƒฃ scripts: 2๏ธโƒฃ satires, 3๏ธโƒฃ musicals, 2๏ธโƒฃ monologues & 1๏ธโƒฃ operetta. So, that is how WATER ๐Ÿ’ฆ : A Musical ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽผ is flowing out to the Malaysian audience in this post-covid environment

It’s really a privilege for SiennyLovesDrawing ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป to be at this official media launch to hear directly from Mr San Sooi ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿป, Ms Joanne ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ผ, Mr Khang Nanyao ๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿป & some cast members of their involvement & preparation of this musical play ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽผ

Mr San Sooi ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿป continues to share that: โ€œA musical ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽผ is more difficult to realise as it is very challenging to compose a piece of music ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽถ to lyrics written by another person. I approached Joanne ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ผ to compose the music. Joanne in her own right is a piano teacher, runs a music school & has sung in choirs & performed on stage. I gave her a year to work on the music. I am glad that Joanne Poh took up the gauntlet with our 3๏ธโƒฃ musicians.”

He ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿป further explained to the media members that during the covid lockdown, he basically spent time on eat ๐Ÿ˜‹, sleep ๐Ÿ’ค๐Ÿ˜ด & write โœ๐Ÿป, repeat almost the same daily & then produced this play ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽผ He always wanted to create something relating to pollution & conservation. He just sat down to write without any ideas, then this play materialized naturally. Bravoโ€ผ๏ธ

He ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿป also admitted to the media members that personally, he is not good in music, not a single note. He understands the difficulty of composing music ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽถ from play, so he spoke to Joanne ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ผ, a music teacher, singer, pianist & more to invite her to compose music for this play. Joanne actually being modest & hesitant to Mr San Sooi’s invitation at the beginning, she managed to produce the music for this play after 1๏ธโƒฃ year. Yeahโ€ผ๏ธ

Ms Joanne ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ผ then shared with the media that a total of 8๏ธโƒฃ songs, each animals represent in each music. Why took a yearโ“โ‰๏ธ She was procrastinating at 1st, hence delaying it when she was invited by Mr San Sooi ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿป To her, music ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽถ actually comes when you don’t want it from her music experiences. She would like to have her music on how to connect with the audiences. Also to her, the animal’s gender in this play actually makes a difference in her music creation. It’s neutral & simple to looping mind ๐Ÿง  when connecting with music ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽถ Even for children/ students ๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿป๐Ÿง’๐Ÿป, to educate them on pollution & conservation through music ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽต Of course different for adults & teenagers will be also different. The children will come with adults (ie. Parents/ teachers) to the play, so using appropriate music ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽถ to tight in the play script content is really important to connect with the audiences whether during or even out from the theater that the audiences still remembering the conservation messages from this musical play ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽผ

She ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ผ further explained that she was hesitant to Mr San Sooi ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿป’s invitation at the beginning because it’s totally ๐Ÿ†• to her to put music in this educational play. She was lacking of confidence with totally something ๐Ÿ†• to her music experiences. She took a lot of courage because she understands well that this music from her needs to be put on stage for the public. At last, she decided to still give it a try. Yeahโ€ผ๏ธ Ohh ya…Ms Joanne ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ’ผ also shared that she was at 1๏ธโƒฃst worried about the generation gap with Mr San Sooi, 81 ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿป who is actually on par with her grand parents age. She appreciates the trust from Mr San Sooi with her to put tunes to his play script created. In fact, she has total freedom in her music creation to this play ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

โ€œWATER ๐Ÿ’ฆ is a combined effort by us in an act of creativity with the members of the cast. The oldest cast member is 61 year old Hilda Looi ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿฆฑ & the youngest cast member is school girl, Kirsten Wong, 13 ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ Together with designer, Khang Nanyao, we have set the stage with the different cast of characters through head gear specially created headwear for Mousedeer ๐ŸฆŒ, Tiger ๐Ÿฏ, Elephant ๐Ÿ˜, Monkey ๐Ÿต & Wildboar/ Warthog ๐Ÿ— In a small but significant way, we hope that WATER ๐Ÿ’ฆ : A Musical ๐ŸŽต๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽผ would make people be more aware of the environment & treat it with respect & concern. The play could lead to larger issues like conservation of the seas & oceans ๐ŸŒŠ,โ€ added Mr San Sooi ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿป

Mr Khang Nanyao ๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿป shared during the official media launch that the animal’s head gears were all 3D printed for current edge trending technology. So, the weight of each is not heavy & does not spoil very fast. These head gear with PLA plastics is possible to recycle โ™ป๏ธ, but it may require special techniques to recycle them

Hmm…Importance of technology over the nature/ being environment friendlyโ“โ‰๏ธ Personally, SiennyLovesDrawing ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป as a go green ๐Ÿ’š person would think of using a more environmental friendly materials in producing the head gears would be more meaningful to this play on conservation initiative & awareness ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Mr Khang Nanyao ๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿป further explained to media members that he appreciates the trust from Mr San Sooi ๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿป as he has full control on the hear gear design, yes โœ…, basically everything on his own ideas & no restrictions of head gear ideas for this play. It’s actually both the spiritual design with technology design at the same time. He did an open head helmet instead of a covered mask as requested by Mr San Sooi ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿป His artwork more on live vs death ~ More scary side. Started making a difference in this play by adding in past & future elements to his head gear design. The cause & effect of humans made. To Mr San Sooi ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿป, the white side of the head gear signifies spiritual to him. It’s an interesting interpretation of the head gear created. It took average 4๏ธโƒฃ days to produce a head gear of the animal, except 5๏ธโƒฃ days for the elephant ๐Ÿ˜ head gear

One of the cast member, Madam Hilda Looi ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿฆฑ has shared that her 1๏ธโƒฃst play was when she was in 18 yrs old & this musical play is her 2nd involvement as Elephant 1๐Ÿ˜ Being the oldest cast member in this musical play, she is looking forward to working with the younger generation. While the youngest cast member, Ms Kirsten Wong ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ is not doing much acting before her involvement to this play as Monkey 1๐Ÿต It’s really a good ๐Ÿ†• experience to learn new things. While another cast member, Ricky – shared that it’s his 1๏ธโƒฃst play as Elephant 2๐Ÿ˜ in this musical play & a lot more to learn

Mr San Sooi ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿป has added at the end of the official media launch that all cast members will start the rehearsal of this musical play in early Sept.
