Christmas "Oh-Ten"

(Jalyssa and Devin waiting to open Santa's presents)

This Christmas, I have to say, was one of the best that we have had since we have been married! Santa definitely spoiled us this year!

Christmas starts on Christmas Eve for our family.
Wil had to work Christmas Eve and Christmas day which meant that we had to stay close to him in order to spend it with him. So instead of spending Christmas Eve at my mom's house, like we normally do, we celebrated at Wil's parent's house.

The kids were getting very anxious to open presents! So my mother-in-law decided that we begin opening her Christmas presents to us.

 (My turn!!)

Wil's mom had the best idea to get a karaoke machine for the family. I cannot believe how much FUN we had with this machine for HOURS! We sang to all sorts of songs  that night.

This will probably become a Christmas tradition in our family which is to sing all night long to the karaoke machine!
(Jenny rocking to the mic!)

What does this pic tell you with the way Jenny's eyes look? Ok, the singing was terrible! Well, everyone's singing was terrible, but it was to much fun to even notice that!

I got a little "home sick" while we were there. I really wanted to go to my Mom's house since my brother and sister were there with their families. I had decided to make my way over there and spend a little time with them before heading back home.

Sadly, I never made it to my mom's. I think I only drove to the end of our subdivision, only to turn back around due to the HORRIBLE FOG that was outside! I had a bad gut feeling to keep going to my mom's house, so I decided to be safe and go back home.

Now this little baby was the best present I could ever have gotten! I have been waiting so long to get this camera, the Canon Rebel T2i. My husband surprised me with this present at his mom's house. I wasn't sure if I was going to get it so soon since it's so expensive!

Unfortunately, I ran out of memory on my camera so I didn't finish taking pictures of Christmas. Also, on Chirstmas Day, we headed to my parents house to open presents there (where my kids were completely spoiled!) and didn't even take pictures there. :(

This year, our lives have been so blessed with great love and success! We couldn't have asked for a better family!

First Day of Kindergarten

That's right! Devin started Kindergarten month. A little late to post it, but better late then never.

I just can't believe how fast time goes. My Devin has gotten so big, so fast, that it sure makes me sad to see where the time has gone. What makes me even more sad is that I don't think he even missed me on his first day. I think he became a pro at this when he was in preschool. When it was time for him to go to class, he just said, "Ok bye mom! Love you!" and that was it. I guess it's a good thing but I like to feel wanted every now and then. Luckily Wil was able to swing by during work to send Devin off to his first day of school.

Happiest kid in Kindergarten!

We love this boy so much! He has filled our lives with such happiness. He has taught us how to love and care for others with his example. He has the sweetest little spirit and is always anxious to learn!

Devin's first baseball game.

We decided to put Devin in baseball this summer. Wil thought that it would be a good idea to put him in "coach pitch" instead of "t-ball". That means that he is a year younger than the rest of the kids. I didn't know if this was a good idea but Wil insisted. So we now have Devin in Coach Pitch baseball and seems to be doing pretty good. We went bought Devin his glove, bat, baseball pants and cleats. If anyone was excited about this, it was Wil! He spent an entire hour comparing b-ball bats and figuring out which one was the "best fit" for Devin. He definitely wants the best for his son so I didn't mind waiting! Once Devin was well equipped with his gear, Wil took him outside and practiced with him. It's so cute!
Devin had his first game last Saturday and was accompanied with Wil's family as well (my parents had to take my little sis to a b-day party and were unable to attend). Here's a few pics of Devin's game.

I'm back!

I'm finally back to blogging! Let's hope this sticks! So what have we been up to? Oh, not much... Devin is out of preschool! He had so much fun and he was very sad to leave his friends and awesome teacher. He has learned so much in this awesome preschool! He can now read at a first grade level as well as some writing and math. We are so proud of him!

This was his last day of school.

With his teacher Mrs. Chamberlain.

We haven't done a whole lot lately and have mostly hung out at home! Devin and Jalyssa are growing so quickly and have bonded together so well! Wil and I love them both so much! Here are a few pics of them hanging out at the house:

On a very personal note... Perhaps a little selfish.

What a horrible title... I've had a lot on my mind. I haven't been very grateful for all things in my life. Mostly looking at other people and what they have. A little jealous maybe? I really don't know. But I realized today and have been told by my mother-in-law many times: You don't take any material possesions to heaven except for your knowledge. And know that I watch the news and see what sort of disasters and tragedys that are happening to others, I am really counting my blessings now. I can't complain at how blessed our family is. We have a nice home, a car to get us around, food on our table, clean clothes, a hard-working hubby and healthy kids.

I am grateful that my husband works hard which allows me to finally fulfill my dreams to stay home and raise my children. Some may think, "yeah right, who seriously wants to do that?" Ha, me! Yes, I do plan on finishing school but right now, me kids need me and staying home is my calling in life as of now.

I can't ask for more. I have what I want. I don't need to have a big fancy car, a big house, jewelry, etc. I am just thankful that my husband comes home safely and my children are happy and healthy.

Does anyone else feel this way?

I feel like I'm just jabbering.

Perhaps I've been looking at other people lives and haven't taken the time to look at my own and be thankful.

I am thankful now. I am content with everything I have.

A little lazy....

Sooooo I haven't been very good at updating my blog. I'm blogging from my phone which goes too show how lazy I really am when it comes to blogging. Some of it might be because I'm new at this and then because I don't get on my computer to upload pics to go along with my posts. I will try harder! It's a new year and I have many goals this year for my family and I! So stay along for future posts. By the way, does anyone actually bother to read this blog? Please comment and let me know! Makes me happy to know who's interested!

Devin's Christmas Program

Yesterday Devin had his Christmas program. I was definitely proud of my little 5 year old! I was surprised that he had learned all of the songs for the program with the exception of "Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer." Hey, it's a tough song! And he almost had it.
We had a good time and had the pleasure of having my mother-in-law come watch.

My nephew Matias at the top. He's such a silly boy that he got up in the middle of the program in order to go to the bathroom. When he has to go, he means business!

Happy Anniversary!!

That's right! It's been 5 years since Wil and I tied the knot! But like any marriage, we have had our ups and downs. I am just thankful for the support of our families and the gospel in our lives. Thanks to our Heavenly Father we have trusted him to guide us through our marriage to make it possible! I want to express how thankful I am to have a wonderful husband who takes care of me and our family. Though stubborn at times, he still manages to help around the house and always takes care of the kids! What a wonderful dad he is! Here is to many more years and all eternity!

The farm at Thanksgiving Point

Earlier in November, we went to the farm at Thanksgiving Point with some friends and their kids. Thanks to our new friends, Devin has so much fun with their kids and we all enjoy each others company.

Devin was never hesitant to pet the horse.

Sweet Jalyssa! Such a good baby!

Devin and his friends Hailey and Shad

Devin got to milk a cow! They have a ramp where they bring in the cows and they show you how to milk a cow. It was pretty cool but kinda gross at the same time! Oh, and I made sure Devin sanitized his hands!
