Scrap Sense

Scrap Sense

For the first time today, I drove to the Sakhir desert in Bahrain’s Southern district especially to take a look at the massive scrapyards in the area.
The yards are well-known for people to find virtually any moving or other part of any vehicle that is either not available with car dealers or is too expensive.
Critical vehicle parts are sometimes available for just a few dollars as compared with hundreds of dollars consumers would have had to pay elsewhere.
Though the ‘hardware’ is not in the best condition, it is reportedly worth much more than what vehicle owners would have normally had to pay.
It’ s a trade that everyone (but the car dealerships) are happy with. Makes perfect economic sense as well, never mind the safety aspect, which clearly takes a back seat.
