This building, one of the oldest in Bahrain, is coming down.
Though this has no name of its own, it has been famously known as the “Mysore Building” since it also housed the once very popular Mysore restaurant.
Before the restaurant came into existence, old-timers say, it was home to the Mercedes Benz showroom, being in the then very posh Gudaibiya neighbourhood.
Next to the now crumbling structure was the Al Hamra cinema and the Kuwaiti Building, both of which are now in disuse and falling apart.
The ever so popular Lahore Restaurant, which has since closed down and moved to another area, was another attraction.
Yeteem Filling station, one of the survivors from those “good old days” is right next door and still has some of the old-timers filling up petrol in vehicles.
