Nature’s sauna

DSC_7430DSC_0585There are two scenes of a typical Bahrain summer weekend evening when temperatures have crossed 40 degrees C and humidity is touching 100 per cent.
The park is deserted – all benches sans any visitors and the beach is almost lifeless, with just some brave souls venturing out to take a dip in the relatively cool water.
On any other day, these places would be crowded with evening walkers and picnickers as well as people just coming over to gaze at the sea.
If anyone calls this a steam chamber, he will not be very far off the mark.
Welcome to the Gulf in the summer. Welcome to God’s very own sauna.
