Night waves
A passing car in the background creates a ‘wave’ effect as it ‘bounces’ along on the rocky coastline in Busaiteen, Bahrain. This area is a favourite for amateur photographers who experiment with their cameras to take that perfect picture on different settings. This picture of a ‘beach chalet’, taken long after the sun had gone down, throws up a rather surreal effect.
‘Public’ transport
Bicycles always make a great picture but when it’s so many lined up in one place, the photograph becomes quite striking. This row of the so called common man’s transport is pictured next to the Bahrain Financial Harbour twin towers in Central Manama. I was told the cycles belong to the scores of mainly Asian expatriates who throng the nearby Bab Al Bahrain area to make some money cleaning cars, running sundry errands or working part-time as houseboys.
Pearly Gates
Image
This first-time picture I took this evening of the Bahrain skyline from atop a newly built skyscraper was a challenge for two reasons. One, I was carrying only my small basic camera but, more importantly, it were the strong 50 knots plus winds that played spoil sport, making it extremely difficult at 36 floors about the ground to stand still, let alone hold the camera to take a perfect shot. Nevertheless, what emerged was a pleasant surprise, making the famed Bahrain skyline look like a massive field of beads and light!
Framed

Bahrain’s “legendary” skyline, complete with perfect reflections in the surrounding waters of the Arabian Gulf, is pictured through the “frames” of a park shelter in the island of Muharraq. The warm and humid weather notwithstanding, a visit to this park always presents a perfect photographic opportunity at any time of the day or night.
