Attempted Ganguro

Its probably the massive amount of hunts I did during last year’s halloween that made me dislike the combination of black and orange so much, especially during this type of the year where we get them in overdoses. XD Nina introduced a new term to me – Ganguro. For those that do not know, Ganguro is a form of Japanese fashion where you have tan skin, light hair and colourful clothes and bright makeup. And that’s what I hoped to have achieved in this outfit.
Well.. we were talking and we realised that not many sl fashionistas have taken this route before! So here’s a mini challenge: Make a ganguro outfit! hehez.. post the links in the comments below and i’ll do a round up at the end of the week?

Yes the title is from the Lady Gaga’s song, The fame. But no, this isn’t another gaga post :P. Lady Gaga just set me in a dance mood and hence the outfit. I was inspired by Taylor Momsen, aka Jenny Humphrey on Gossip Girl who is normally seen with a leather jeacket thrown over a dress. Of course she sticks to the monotones. On the other hand, I decided to brighten up the outfit which shades of blues. Being rooted to a sim after 8pm my time due to the lousy internet connection has shorten my shopping time by ALOT. Thus the decision to use some old stuff I found in my inventory – the purple leather jacket from Aoharu (I forgot to pick a black version of this during the sale. Bangs head!), The GiGi Cotoure Dress which has been “missing” in my inventory for the longest time possible, and this pair of maitreya limelight (which is/was a gift on the GG sim i believe). The shades are a new discovery of mine from this little Japnese Store, Elysion Optics. They are scripted! and have the largest amount of functions I’ve seen in a pair of sunglasses. From autosmile to fly booster to anti push, plus the basic functions any scripted glasses have (ability to change the len colour, to rotate/ reposition or resize it. Just Wow. *In my head, Elysion Optics shall be known as the shop that makes wonder glasses :P* The price is rather reasonable at 280L (?) a pair <3 Have a great weekend everyone!

Going Gaga

Yea, I mentioned before I don’t walk around the grid with my bra hanging. My bad, i’m such a hypocrite. I blame youtube and Jordan McCoy for doing such an awesome cover of Lady’s Gaga, Just Dance. Made me just have to do a gaga fan website search and get inspired by the pictures. I’m not really a Gaga fan, just love her songs but not crazy over her. In the music sense, Taylor Swift is my heroine. :P This is my intepretation of the gaga’s style which everyone is crazy about. This is a remix of one of the outfits she wore during her London trip, as seen here plus a few outfits from her concert wardrobe. I wanted to create a club look, built around the Black Clubbing Jacket by Modd.G, my favourite piece out of the review copies that Moddish kindly sent. My RL friend favourite colour combination seemed to have rubbed off me. Red and Black. Both striking and perfect. The Red Sparkly Bra was an accidental found in my inventory. Love the sparkles in it, perfect for drawing attention in the club. Kinda gaga-ish right? This girl doesn’t seem to get the notice that gaga prefer straight hair with a ribbon on top. I’m still obssess with maitreya’s new release, which should be all over the feed by now. :P I can’t choose a favourite between them. Pop on a pair of sunglasses, gaga’s signature accessory and the look is complete. Hope you enjoy it!

Between her 4th breakup with Dan (stoopid) Humphrey, the betrayal from her “favourite”/slut teacher and that twisted family complications, I figured Queen S needs some show time. This style im inspired by is S’s, aka the bad girl, usual school uniform. Gives me an excuse to join archiya’s challenge and wear that same damn shirt as everyone else.
On to the outfit itself, there are some new items, others old. Coco is a store popping up everywhere. My praises remains in sync with the rest of the fashion community – simply marvelous. I’m using the group gift belt here which is seems to be the focus of the entire outfit; the chic/stunning factor. Royal Blue jeans. OMG, i re-discovered it in my inventory? After stashing it at one side after the 10L sale last month, I re-fell in love with it and its still glued to my Sl butt. (maybe cause i haven drag myself to armidi yet but tt’s another point entirely *_* ) Why am i wearing jeans for a school outfit? hahaz dun ask. I dressed my AV at 1 am yesterday and must have been blind and thought Serena was wearing jeans :P Jeans looks cool too, especially with such a well textured pair. The outfit is finished with a little ribbon hair accessory on the top, giving it a cute edge. This is originally a sock attachment from a Kuri Style outfit, repositioned and reattached at the mouth.
