Daniel Pearl's widow drops lawsuit

The widow of murdered journalist Daniel Pearl has withdrawn a lawsuit seeking damages against al-Qaida, a dozen reputed terrorists and Pakistan's largest bank.

In a letter Tuesday to the federal judge presiding over the case, lawyers for Mariane Pearl noted that Habib Bank Limited and the other defendants in the case had not answered the lawsuit filed in July, but they otherwise did not explain their reason for dropping the action.

The lawsuit had sought unspecified damages against people and organizations that Mariane Pearl alleged were involved in the kidnapping, torture and murder of her husband in 2002.

Pearl, 38, The Wall Street Journal's South Asia bureau chief, was abducted from Karachi, Pakistan, while researching a story on Islamic militancy in the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

Pearl's execution and beheading were videotaped by his kidnappers and displayed on the Internet. His remains were found in a shallow grave on Karachi's outskirts.

Among the defendants in Mariane Pearl's lawsuit were al-Qaida; the al-Rashid Trust, an outlawed Islamic charity; and Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the imprisoned al-Qaida No. 3 leader and mastermind of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

The suit alleged Habib Bank knowingly provided financial services for al-Qaida and other terrorist groups.

Several men charged in the kidnapping and murder case have been convicted in Pakistan, including British-born Islamic militant Ahmed Omar Saeed Shaikh.

He was sentenced to death in 2002, and three of his accomplices were given life prison terms. Their appeals are pending.

Mohammed, caught in Pakistan, is being held at the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He claimed he personally beheaded Pearl, according to a partial Pentagon transcript of his testimony at a military tribunal.

Mariane Pearl was represented by Motley Rice, a law firm based in Mount Pleasant, S.C. The firm has brought other suits against Middle Eastern banks and companies on behalf of Sept. 11 victims.

Taliban Video of Boy Executioner Causes Anger

From Taliban Video of Boy Executioner Causes Anger:
A Taliban video of a 12-year-old boy beheading a man accused of spying has angered many Afghans. "It's very wrong for the Taliban to use a small boy to behead a man," religious teacher Mullah Attullah said Thursday. The video released this week shows the boy in a camouflage jacket and a white headband using a knife to behead a blindfolded man accused of being a spy for foreign forces as men cry "Allahu Akbar."
Little boy beheader = bad. Adult men beheaders = okay. That's Islam for you.

The Bad News list

Here is a list of links to articles that are just plain bad news. I am overwhelmed and too disgusted to write, so here are the links. You can pretty much guess how I feel. Islam is the greatest scourge ever known to man and Jew-haters like James Baker and Jimmy Carter are their filthy sycophants:

Muslim boys urinated on Bible

Somalia Town Threatens to Behead People Who Don't Pray 5 Times Daily

Muslim woman cites gym after interrupted prayer

Disembowelled, then torn apart: The price of daring to teach girls

James Baker, zealous Jew-hating bastard, mentions Palestinian "right of return" and backstabs Israel in his Iraq Study Group report

Sources close to the PA government claim Hamas representatives recently held talks with officials from the US Democratic Party at an undisclosed location

and sadly, the body of James Kim, a CNET editor, who left his stranded family in a car in the Oregon wilderness to try to get help, was found; devastating news for anyone who has been following this story.

The Pope must die, says Muslim

A Muslim told demonstraors in London yesterday that the Pope should face execution.

Anjem Choudary said those who insulted Islam would be "subject to capital punishment". His remarks came during a protest outside Westminster Cathedral on a day that worldwide anger among Muslim hardliners towards Pope Benedict XVI appeared to deepen.

Choudary's appeal for the death of Pope Benedict was the second time he has been linked with apparent incitement to murder within a year. [And he's still walking around freely while treading on the rights of others? Wake up Londonistan.]

The 39-year-old lawyer organised demonstrations against the publication of cartoons of Mohammed in February in Denmark. Protesters carried placards declaring "Behead Those Who Insult Islam". Yesterday he said: "The Muslims take their religion very seriously and non-Muslims must appreciate that and that must also understand that there may be serious consequences if you insult Islam and the prophet. As well as placards attacking the Pope such as "Pope go to Hell", his followers outside the country's principal Roman Catholic church also waved slogans aimed at offending the sentiments of Christians such as "Jesus is the slave of Allah".

Yesterday's sermon by the Pope was the first time a pontiff has publicly said sorry. Anger and violence - including attacks on seven churches in the West Bank and Gaza - have characterised one of the biggest international crises involving the Vatican in decades. Iraqi jihadists issued a video of a scimitar slicing a cross in two, intercut with images of Benedict and the burning Twin Towers.

The website run in the name of the Mujahedeen Army, used by Muslims who have claimed responsibility for attacks in Iraq, was addressed to "You dog of Rome" and threatened to "shake your thrones and break your crosses in your home". In a reference to suicide bombing, it said: "We swear to God to send you people who adore death as much as you adore life."

Folks, the perpetual outrage of Muslims is more proof that Islam, at its core, is lethally militaristic and institutionalizes homicide. The Pope is being targetted not only for what he said in a speech, but for not being a Muslim. The Pope is being targetted for believing in a god that forbids killing except in self-defense. The Pope is being targetted for defending values that do not exist in Islam. The Pope is being targetted simply for existing. Holding a grudge against the Pope is just another excuse to set yet another region in flames. Islam can't shed its pathology. Muslim selective indignation and projection towards non-Muslims on the matter of terror and mass murder is, quite frankly, repulsively hypocritical . The same Muslims that stamp their feet, whine and complain that Muslims are being victimised by the Pope or by the Great Satan or by Israel, are totally silent when Muslims exterminate and threaten to exterminate other cultures. I worry that it is too late for countries to do something to prevent jihad from within but I do believe that the world is beginning to see what Islam is and what it is not.

By the way...

... the Muslim men charged with plotting terrorist attacks against Canadian targets were planning to detonate a truck bomb to destroy a significant building and to open fire on a crowd in a public place. The Toronto Stock Exchange was another prime target for a massive bomb attack. The RCMP, which had been monitoring the group, switched a load of fertilizer which the conspirators allegedly believed to be 34-0-0 grade fertilizer, the best for making explosives.

Oh, I forgot to add that they also were planning to behead the Canadian prime minister and other leaders, according to accusations revealed Tuesday by the lawyer for one of the suspects.

Folks, just more proof that Islam is a smoke-screen to kill the gullible who have fallen for the great myth that it is merely a religion of peace when in reality, Islam - at its core - is lethally militaristic and institutionalizes homicide.

Forbidding public display of crosses

This is what I call an "Islamic thank-you". From the Washington Times:
The president of the Iraqi Red Crescent has urged the International Committee of the Red Cross to stop sending aid marked with red crosses. Two truck drivers and two volunteers were delivering water and medicine to the city of Haditha four weeks ago when they were captured by "insurgents". They were seized by a terrorist group who threatened to behead them because they thought the crosses on the water and food containers meant the men were Christian missionaries,"
I say, to hell with the residents of Haditha. Let them starve, just like Saddam Hussein did when he forcefully intercepted the food dropoffs delivered via American airships.

Folks, the Arab Muslim world was stunned to see coalition forces enter Baghdad and Iraqis tear down statues of Saddam Hussein, remember? Muslims around the world dubbed these reports as American lies and propaganda. Muslim contempt for the truth illustrated the sad state in which the Arab world finds itself. Unless they committ to seriously reforming, their hatred of anything non-Muslim and their fear of freedom will continue to place them as the most unevolved culture - ever.

Cable TV now wears a burqa

Folks, the indoctrination has begun.

A new cable network that claims to be the first U.S. Muslim lifestyle network in English debuts Tuesday. Bridges TV founder and chief executive Muzzammil Hassan, who came to the U.S. from Pakistan in 1979, said his wife came up with the idea in December 2001 while listening to the radio on a road trip.

"Some derogatory comments were being made about Muslims that offended her," Hassan told Reuters ahead of Tuesday's launch. "She was seven months pregnant, and she thought she didn't want her kids growing up in this environment." Hassan says Bridges TV will launch with 50,000 cable and satellite subscribers. He has signed a deal with Comcast, the largest U.S. cable operator, to make it available nationwide. Hassan said the Buffalo-based channel is focused on lifestyle and entertainment, and programs will include Muslim cartoons, educational shows and animated Koran stories.

So Muzzammil Hassan's wife was offended?

Well, guess what, folks?

I speak for hundreds of thousands of Jews and Christians when I say I'm offended by Muslims calling Jews "the sons of monkeys and pigs". The Quran says that Jews are under Allah's curse and were changed by him into monkeys and pigs in Suras 2:62-65, 5:59-60, and 7:166. Christians are thrown in in 5:59-60.

I'm offended by four planes piloted by Muslims who deliberately crashed them into the WTC, Philadelphia and the Pentagon.

I'm offended by 21 Muslim theocracies who are so racist that they can't stand the reality of a Jewish nation on the same planet as theirs.

I'm offended by Palestinians handing out sweets to celebrate the death of Americans on September 11th.

I'm offended by Iraqi Muslims who mutilated, impaled, publically displayed and stomped on the burnt bodies of American Marines in Fallujah.

I'm offended that Arafat's death certificate was re-written by the French government to show his place of birth as Jerusalem instead of showing his actual place of birth, Cairo, Egypt.

I'm offended that leaders of nations mourned Arafat, as talk show host Mark Williams correctly describes him, as "a blood-soaked, sub-human, vile, reprehensible, murderous animal whose savagery was unmatched in the latter half of the 20th century" as if he were anything but.

I'm offended by the murder of Theo Van Gogh, a Dutch filmmaker, who was assassinated by Muslims for making a documentary in defense of Islamic women.

I'm offended by Muslims who perform female genital mutilation (FGM) on their sisters, daughters and nieces.

I'm offended by Palestinian Muslims who draw maps of "Palestine" with NO mention of Israel anywhere.

I'm offended by the Muslim slaughter of Christians in the Sudan.

I'm offended by the Muslim lust to behead Americans and other nationals.

I'm offended by the viciousness of the text of the Hamas Charter and the Palestinian National Charter, whose 30 of 33 articles call for the destruction of Israel.

I'm offended by Al-Jazeera and how it is a showcase for racist Muslims and terrorists yet there is no outcry from the American artist community, especially in Hollywood, who are noticeably silent.

The list is endless, folks, by how offended I am and how I speak for hundreds of thousands, yet no one would dare offer our voice, those of us who are righteously offended, a cable TV network.

Trust me, folks, this new cable network will attempt to finish what Hitler started. It's just a matter of time.

Muslims Behead Another non-Muslim

Folks, Muslims have beheaded another non-Muslim in Iraq. Kenneth Bigley, a 62-year-old construction engineer made a final despairing plea for his life before Muslims severed his head with a knife.

Islam is what its followers make of it, folks. As Christopher Caldwell said, "There are few societies in which the veil and the cocktail dress coexist for long. One usually drives the other out."

Will America be next?

The Murder of Nick Berg by Rabbi Boruch Leff

Trying to make sense of the savagery:

Are there any words to describe the diabolical evil of Islamic terrorists beheading Nick Berg?

Can one possibly fathom the savage barbarism of slaughtering a human being at the neck like an animal?

Can one comprehend humans acting like monstrous beasts, holding the severed head aloft as if it were a trophy?

Or the way they proudly posted the videotape online for the entire world to see?

And even more, all the while claiming to act in the name of God.

Here is the first lesson of the murder of Nick Berg: Left to their own devices, people can come to justify anything. As the late Rabbi Yaakov Weinberg said:

"Relative ethics are meaningless. They create an opportunity in which one does what he feels like doing, and then creates the justification for it... Hitler demonstrated that there is no action which a human being cannot justify, to himself and even to others."

For those accustomed to a philosophy of "who is one person to say what's right for another?" the Islamic terrorists have a good argument. "We believe that God wants us to behead Americans on videotape. If you believe otherwise, it's one person's word against another."

But Judaism subscribes to the principle of absolute truth. And the Torah, for the person committed to thoughtful study, teaches the guidelines of true good and evil.

Islamic terror, despite the supposed "invocation of God," is pure evil.

CLASH OF CULTURES

The second lesson is that even when we must kill evil criminals or terrorists in order to bring greater good and peace to the world, we never do it with the total disregard for human dignity and life shown by the murderers of Nick Berg.

In confronting evil, Jewish thought distinguishes between hating the perpetrators, and hating the evils committed. Do we hate the person, or the action? If we hate the person, then our response will be based primarily on personal revenge, whereas if we detest only the evil action, we will react with a strong desire to root out only the evil deeds.

There is a world of difference between those who kill out of hatred, and those who kill out of necessity. Rabbi Chaim Brisker explained that these two types can be compared to a housewife and a cat. The housewife and the cat both want to rid the house of mice. But there is one crucial difference: the cat is happy to have a mouse to pursue and kill, whereas the housewife would prefer not to have any problem in the first place.

There may not be a physical or active difference between these two approaches on the ground. In both cases, great battles will need to be waged to fight the evil and sometimes wars and killings will be involved. But this differentiation of intent when fighting evil is immense.

We must feel pained and distressed in our rooting out of evil and our punishing of perpetrators. We must not let our personal feelings of anger and fury dominate us. This is what is meant by:

"When your enemy falls, do not rejoice; and when he stumbles, let your heart not be glad." (Proverbs 24:17; Avot 4:24)

If we don't accomplish this, we risk killing and punishing for all the wrong reasons. We risk losing control of ourselves and fighting in ways that are completely personal, and not for the side of good at all. We risk slipping from good to evil.

One of the tremendous lessons from America's war on terror is how deeply humane we are. Far from the incitement, demonization, hatred, and glorification of the killings of innocent civilians that plagues many Islamic societies, American policy is not to take pride or satisfaction in fighting or killing its enemies.

And when some American soldiers do abuse and terribly mistreat their enemies, as has recently been discovered in Iraq, America bends over backwards to punish the perpetrators, in addition to apologizing and stating clearly that these soldiers' immoral behavior is an unacceptable and severe aberration.

America's wars and violent struggles are always fought with goals of preventing future terror attacks and saving lives. This is in stark contrast with the culture of Islamic terror that targets civilians and glorifies their dastardly killings.

JEWISH LOSS

We dare not forget the savagery of the enemy that is threatening the entire free world. These past two weeks have been an especially difficult time for the Jewish people. First there was the vicious murder of a pregnant mother and her four daughters in Gaza, as Palestinians emptied their guns point blank into each of them, including the 2-year-old still strapped to her car seat, and then added a bullet into the mother's belly, murdering her 8-month fetus as well.

Then, Israeli soldiers out to destroy a weapons factory were killed when their vehicle was bombed in Gaza; Arabs then snatched body parts, parading the human remains through the streets of Gaza City, in front of reporters, and in a video of a soldier's head that was broadcast throughout the Arab world. Then, only two days later, the story was repeated as another Israeli vehicle was blown up in Gaza, killing five more Israeli soldiers. Then on Friday, two more soldiers were killed by Arab sniper fire.

Something that was lost from the major headlines was that Nick Berg was Jewish. We do not know whether the murderers were aware of this since, unlike the murder of Daniel Pearl in 2001, the terrorists in the video did not make Berg mention that he was a Jew. Yet Berg did have an Israeli stamp in his passport, and has a Jewish-sounding last name.

And then, buried amidst the thousands of news articles was this:

"Berg's father said his son was Jewish and had a fringed religious cloth with him."

Of course, we know that the 'fringed religious cloth' was tzitzit. The wearing of tzitzit is a positive commandment in the Torah.

Apparently, Nick Berg was not only Jewish by birth but was moving closer to Jewish observance. Friends said he undertaken "intense study of the Bible." He most likely did not wear the tzitzit in public, which could be quite dangerous in an Arab country, but he must have worn them many times while he was in Iraq. Nick Berg may have been alone in a strange land, but he carried his Jewish identity with him.

We mourn the tragic loss, and pray that evil be eradicated from our midst.
