• Yesh Din, an Israeli NGO founded by members of Machsom Watch, claims to monitor legal procedures applied to Palestinian complaints against Israelis – both civilians and members of the security forces in the West Bank – in Israeli civilian courts. It also follows proceedings against Palestinian defendants in military courts.


• Yesh Din is funded by the European Union, the Irish, Dutch, German and British Foreign Offices, the New Israel Fund, the Open Society Institute, and private donors and foundations. As with other European-funded political NGOs based in Israel, Yesh Din’s agenda is one-sided, and ignores Palestinian violations of Israeli human rights, including terrorism.


• Their main activities consist of soliciting reports from Palestinians regarding alleged “criminal behavior by Israeli civilians”, and publishing reports on these topics. In these reports, many of the claims are subjective and cannot be verified.


• Reports generally omit the context of terror and use pseudo-legal human rights terminology and “apartheid” rhetoric to condemn Israeli policy.


• The appearance of academic methods notwithstanding, the methodological problems in the reports reduce Yesh Din’s credibility. In its report on military courts, conclusions are based on a small, unrepresentative sample of 800 cases, out of 42,000 indictment and arrest hearings conducted in the military courts in 2006 alone.

Israeli academic institutions have been misused in recent years as platforms for radical anti-Israel and even anti-Semitic propagandizing, often by tenured radicals with embarrassing academic records and dubious research credentials. These include Israeli faculty denouncing their own country in the foreign press as "genocidal" and supposedly perpetrating Nazi-like war crimes, professors who publish articles proclaiming Israel a fascist apartheid state engaged in "state terrorism," lecturers who endorse Arab terrorism against Jews, applaud the Hizbollah, and call for Israel to be dismantled entirely.

While its web site has been in operation for only a relatively short period, the impact of ISRACAMPUS is already being widely felt. A gro wing number of reports are appearing in the mainstream media about Israel's academic extremists, "New Historians," and "Post-Zionists." Israel's Channel One television channel recently devoted a full hour to Israeli academic extremists and their role in promoting boycotts of Israel.

Israel's Maariv daily has been particularly courageous in condemning these things. Countless blogs cite and link to our web site. Israeli university officials are being faced with growing calls to enforce academic standards and put a stop to the political biases operating in campus hiring and promotion. Classroom indoctrination and one-sided anti-Israel courses taught by extremists are increasingly being exposed and triggering public outrage.

And the extremists are themselves growing wary. While no one is calling for restricting academic freedom and freedom of expression, even for the worst anti-Israel academic radicals , nevertheless these folks are feeling pressure as their activities are exposed to the sunshine. They know someone is looking over their shoulders. Over the past two years there has been a dramatic drop in the number of Israeli radical academics turning out anti-Israel propaganda for Bash-Israel organizations and web sites. While anti-Israel petitions, containing the names of hundreds of Israel academics, appeared in the past every few weeks on the internet, almost nothing of this sort has been initiated more recently. And in radical political "chat rooms" Israeli academic extremists are increasingly complaining about the fact that ISRACAMPUS is exposing what they write and do.

It is getting harder for Israeli university administrations to turn a blind eye to on-campus politicization, classroom indoctrination, and subordination of hiring and promotion to politically biased decision making. People are asking campus officers tough questions about how it is that so many Israel haters with insipid, sometimes downright embarrassing, academic records are being hired and promoted as faculty members and using their podium to demonize their own country. Voices expressing outrage against one-sided indoctrination, such as in courses purportedly about "the occupation," are growing.

ISRACAMPUS is the best way to "keep Israeli universities honest," and to ensure that their faculty engage in research and educating, rather than in Israel-bashing, sedition, and anti-Zionist political propagandizing.

David Landau, editor of Ha'aretz, calls for the rape of Israel

Last Wednesday, New York's Jewish Week, reported that the editor of Israel's self-described "newspaper of record", David Landau, asked the US secretary of state to rape his country and told her that his erotic fantasy is to watch America rape Israel.

CAMERA reports:

At a private meeting of some 20 journalists with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in September, 2007, Ha'aretz Editor David Landau urged the U.S. to "rape" Israel — to force a settlement on the country. In a December 26 story on the incident, Jewish Week editor Gary Rosenblatt quoted Landau saying: "'I told [Rice] that it had always been my wet dream to address the secretary of state' on these vital matters."

Despite expressions of dismay by other commentators -- including Jerusalem Post columnist Isi Leibler, who termed Landau's conduct "unconscionable" and "unacceptable," and leading broadcast and print journalist Ehud Yaari who called the comments "embarrassing" -- Landau told Rosenblatt he is actually pleased with his performance.

The Ha'aretz editor's objectionable statements are indicative of a striking lack of judgement generally by an individual who has also refused to correct serious factual errors in his newspaper, falsehoods that cast Israel as racist, oppressive and unjust in its treatment of Arabs.

In response to repeated calls by CAMERA for redress of inaccurate reporting, Landau has taken the highly unprofessional measure of insisting his staff not address the organization's inquiries regardless of the merit of the issue.

Together with Ha'aretz's like-minded publisher, Amos Shocken, Landau has promoted an extreme political position, characterizing Israel as "apartheid" in both the news and editorial pages. Moreover, a number of the paper's contributors go so far as to participate in radical anti-Israel activity outside the country, and figures such as Danny Rubenstein and Gideon Levy denounce Israel in extreme statements at one-sided United Nations meetings.

The promulgation of the apartheid slander, like Landau's comment to Rice, is part of the use of the paper as a tool to cudgel Israel down Ha'aretz's preferred political path.

Readers in Israel and around the globe, as well as other journalists who cite the publication, may want to consider the bizarre views expressed by senior figures guiding the paper and the disconnect with an Israeli mainstream that does not seek to be "raped" but, as with any normal, self-respecting people, seeks an equitable and prudent resolution of a difficult conflict.

David Landau also supports the New Israel Fund, which allocates grants to such anti-Israeli NGOs as Hamoked, I'lam, and Ittijah.

As you might recall, NGOs' promote politically and ideologically motivated anti-Israel agendas and they lend a false credibility to the notion that Palestine is even a real nation. Don't be scammed. NGO's, like the United Nations, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, Ford Foundation, International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) New Israel Fund, Miftah, Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR), Physicians for Human Rights - Israel (PHR-I), LAW, Christian Aid, and the Advocacy Project each collect funds for a variety of projects and areas from generous donors, philanthropic institutions, and government budgets, but they themselves are not democratic institutions and have no democratic accountability. An NGO is only accountable to its particular funding organizations and members.

There was no movement toward a palestinian state when Gaza was under the control of Egypt and the West Bank under Jordan. Jordan didn't give up its territorial claims until 1988.

Yael Korin neglects to mention that Fatah was founded in 1964 by Arafat; unless causality has no meaning, the resistance to Israel was born with no reference to 1967 or "ocupation", but, rather, with Israel's birth in 1948 and with the return of Jews to their homeland in the 19th century. Jews were living in Israel for 3000 years and the legitimate and sovereign nation of Israel is a resturn to their homeland, not an invasion, as Yael Korin and her minions claim. It only makes sense considering the archaeology, our Patriarch's tombs, our Matriarch's tombs, and most of all our Holy Temple, which Muslim supremacists usurped out from under the Jewish people just like they did to Christian chruches throught out the region. Talk about land grabs.

Arabs and radical leftists continue to vandalize Jewish farmers' property

West Bank Israeli Jews say there has been a recent spate of palestinian vandalism on property belonging to Jewish farmers, and an Haaretz investigation has found evidence of arson, sabotage of equipment and destruction of crops. The farmers claim that the police are not designating their complaints as high priority, because they do not fall under the rubric of "hostile terrorist activity." Settlers put the damage from vandalism in the tens of millions of shekels for which they are not compensated, because state authorities recognize only damage sustained in "a hostile act against Israel."

Israeli Jews complain that irrigation systems are prime targets for repeated vandalism by arab shepherds, who slice the pipes to water their flocks, and by palestinian farmers or others who tap into these systems for free water. In the course of a protest march by leftists, anarchists and arabs on August 22, dozens broke into Shlomi Cohen's vineyard at Neria and uprooted some 5,000 vine saplings. On October 17, a left-wing activist was caught along with arabs from the West Bank in the act of setting several fires around Havat Gilad.

According to the report, investigations in these cases sometimes take an unexpected turn, when arabs under interrogation for committing terrorist attacks reveal they were also involved in sabotaging Jewish farmers' property.The report claims that nothing is being done to deter "potential Arab offenders," and that police officers respond slowly to complaints of vandalism.

NGO Monitor: New Israel Fund's NGO Grants under Critical Spotlight

The New Israel Fund (NIF) organized the 'NIForum', a 10-city North American tour of meetings on a "Progressive Vision for Israel" in October, 2007. As detailed analysis by NGO Monitor has shown, NIF grants are influenced by radicals whose private agendas have been overwhelmingly rejected by Israeli voters. NIF continues to use "civil society" grants to support groups including Adalah, Mossawa, the Arab Human Rights Association (HRA), Hamoked, and others which lead the campaign to end Israel as a Jewish State, and promote "apartheid" rhetoric, boycotts and sanctions. Similarly, NIF provided funding for Jeff Halper -- a fringe Israeli who accompanies Naim Ateek, the leader of the radical Palestinian group known as Sabeel, at conferences promoting the one-state solution and boycotts.

As reported in the media, NIF's CEO, Larry Garber claimed that the "NIF position is we think it is constructive that a dialogue is initiated," but Gerald Steinberg of NGO Monitor pointed out that "[The NIF] have refused any kind of offer for a dialogue. Instead they want to convince their supporters that what they're doing is above board and acceptable. I have not seen any forum to which they've invited critics." "The NIForum has shown itself to be a timid, inadequate response to the growing dissatisfaction and criticism from NIF donors. The Forum pretends to provide the missing transparency, accountability, and public debate, but the lineup of speakers is 'the same old same old' who are part of the NIF power structure."

Now, palestinian negotiators drafting an agreement behind the scenes with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's office have made clear they will not accept any final peace deal with Israel unless the Jewish state forfeits the Temple Mount, Judaism's holiest site, WND has learned.

According to a report in Israel's Yediot Aharonot daily yesterday, Olmert is willing to discuss joint Israeli-Palestinian control over the Temple Mount complex. The report didn't state the positions of the Palestinian side on the issue.

A chief Palestinian negotiator, speaking to WND on condition his name be withheld, said yesterday, "there can be no agreement with Israel unless we get complete sovereignty of the Mount. Once Palestinian control over the [Temple Mount] is fixed, then we will make assurances for Jewish visits to the site."

The chief negotiator said aides from Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah organization have been hammering out the parameters of a final status agreement for presentation in November at a U.S.-backed international summit regarding the Middle East.

Asked by WND whether Olmert is willing to forfeit the Temple Mount in an agreement with the Palestinians, David Baker, a spokesman for the prime minister, had no comment.

The misanthropic Peace Now

The fetid misanthropes who hide their dysfunctional personalities behind the mask of "Peace Now" will be holding a protest against Jews in their indigenous regions of Judea and Samaria in the heart of Hebron’s Jewish neighborhood Tuesday. Counter-protesters say they will be there too. The left-wing Jew-haters anti-settlement group petitioned the Supreme Court to force police and IDF officials to allow the protest and provide security for it after their application was rejected.

Kumah, a Zionist movement promoting mass Aliyah (immigration to Israel), says it has organized a counter-protest to signify the Jewish people’s embrace of Hevron and the rest of the Land of Israel during the week of the reading of the Torah portion of Shelach, dealing with the ten spies and their rejection of the land.

“Of 12 spies, only Joshua and Caleb yearned for the Land,” a Kumah statement read. “Caleb received his strength from the forefathers buried in Hevron - as it says of him: ‘and he came unto Hevron.’”

Kumah will be providing transportation to Hevron from Jerusalem’s Binyanei HaUmah conference center 9 AM, stopping also at the Gush Etzion Junction. The Gush Etzion Action Committees also sent out an alert, calling on local activists with cars to meet at the Gush Etzion Junction at 9:45 AM in order to travel to Hevron in a convoy. Public transportation is also available via Egged’s 160 bus, which leaves every hour. Activists arriving by bus will meet at Kiryat Arba’s Bank Leumi at 10:30 AM.

Some activists have called upon the public to use Peace Now’s buses. They are leaving Jerusalem’s Gan HaPaamon (Liberty Bell Park) at 9:30 AM and Tel Aviv’s El Al early check-in at the Rakevet Tzafon area at 9 AM. How Ha'aretz and 'Sikkuy: The Association for the Advancement of Civic Equality in Israel' lie to mangle statistics. An excerpt from Steven Plaut via The Jewish Press:

Of the last group, the worst are 'advocacy statistics'. These are fabrications by advocacy groups that invent 'statistics' to advance political agendas. There are lots of these around, and they're familiar to all of us. They range from the supposed ten percent of humans who are homosexual, to the make-pretend numbers of Iraqi civilians who supposedly died in the Allied invasion of Iraq, to estimates of the numbers of Palestinian refugees, to the instances of college date-rapes alleged by feminist groups.

In Israel lately, several groups trying to paint Israeli Arabs as victims of discrimination have become masters at turning out false advocacy statistics. And these are generally eaten up and taken at face value by Israel's leftist journalists and the Bash-Israel world media.

Egypt transferred 2,000 AK-47 rifles and two million rounds of ammunition to PA security organizations in Gaza Wednesday with Israel's approval in an effort to bolster Fatah-affiliated groups following clashes with Hamas. Senior members of Fatah-affiliated groups have complained of their inferior firepower when confronted by Hamas forces, since Hamas controls most of the smuggling tunnels for weapons flowing into Gaza from Egypt. The decision to reinforce Fatah forces was made during the meeting between Prime Minister Olmert and PA Chairman Abbas on Saturday. During the meeting, Abbas also promised to deploy men from his Presidential Guard along the Philadelphi Route to prevent smuggling, and also in the northern Gaza Strip to prevent rocket fire at Israeli towns.

Dear friends, I know that you are too sophisticated to be taken in by this leftist-inspired propaganda. Unfortunately, it is the Muslims who prevent others, such as Jews and Christians, from reaching their holy sites to pray.

Here are only a few of the true facts:

*The Tomb of our forefather Joseph was assaulted by a turbulent mob of Arabs on October 7, 2000. They completely demolished the millennial-old holy site in a matter of hours. They hacked, chopped, smashed and destroyed one of the most hallowed sites belonging to the Jewish People. The Arabs set alight holy books and other sacred religious objects. Two Israeli soldiers were murdered in this pogrom.

*On many occasions hundreds of Arabs, after prayers at the el-Aksa Mosque on the Temple Mount, hurled stones and blocks onto Jewish worshippers praying at the Western Wall below.

*The ancient synagogue in Jericho, Shalom al Israel, was vandalized and almost completely destroyed. Israelis now have to obtain a permit from the Arabs to visit what’s left of it. This ancient synagogue was built during the time of the Second Temple.

*Worshippers have to go in bulletproof buses to the tomb of Mother Rachel near Bethlehem to avoid being stoned. The tomb itself is now protected by a security wall.

*Immediately after the Jews were expelled from Gush Katif, the Arabs desecrated all the synagogues and victoriously danced on the rooftops of the religious institutions before burning them down.

*The Arabs attempted to build a mosque in front of an existing Christian church in Nazereth, this was meant to obstruct the entrance to this historical church.

Finally, the composers of the Machsom Watch advertisement asks us to “respect the freedom of religious observance for all”. The advertisement ends with an impassioned plea to let the Palestinians pray at the holy sites in Jerusalem.

What hypocrisy! It is the Jews and the Christians who are prevented by the Arabs from praying at their holiest sites!

Islamic intolerance and incitement permitted on Israel’s holiest site

Israeli police escorted one of the top leaders of the Jerusalem-headquartered international Christian Zionist movement off the Temple Mount Tuesday, [October 14, 2003] on the grounds that he had been silently praying in the area.

While Christians and Jews are forbidden from praying on the hill the Bible designates as a site holy to the God of Israel, Muslims are free to worship and preach incitement against Israel from the four mosques straddling the Mount.

Accosted while silently praying

Jan Willem van der Hoeven, founder of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem and currently director of the International Christian Zionist Center, said he had been walking alone and “speaking to the Lord in his heart,” when a policeman demanded to know whether he was praying.

“I could have lied and said no,” Van der Hoeven told Jerusalem Newswire, “but of course I did not want to and so said yes.”

According to several eyewitnesses, three policemen had then handcuffed and escorted Van der Hoeven to the police station at the nearby Western Wall Plaza.

Police log prayer

Van der Hoeven said when he arrived at the police station the officer in charge asked what he had been praying. He replied that he had been praying for the Messiah to come and bring peace to Israel and to the world.

“The police noted my prayer down in their official report,” Van der Hoeven said.

He had been allowed to leave a short while later.

Putting their feet down

The incident took place after Van Der Hoeven led a group of about 40 visiting Christian Zionists onto the Temple Mount, a highlight of their weeklong celebration of the biblical Feast of Tabernacles.

Before ascending the hill, which the Bible describes as the place of Messiah’s future throne, Van der Hoeven had advised the pilgrims to separate into small groups and walk quietly around inside the walled compound, praying silently.

Reminding them of past instances of intolerance shown by the Muslim authorities on the Mount towards Jews and Christians, he urged the group to be “as wise as serpents and harmless as doves,” quoting the words of Jesus as recorded in the New Testament.

“Every place where your feet tread, pray that it will be given back to Israel,” he added.

On the Mount

Before climbing the ramp to the compound, the pilgrims were instructed to leave all Bibles, Israeli flags and any other apparently provocative items at the security checkpoint.

The group entered at the so-called Mughrabi Gate, before spreading out and walking in twos and threes around the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Dome of the Rock and the Golden Gate.

Apart from Van der Hoeven’s expulsion, the group reported no other incidents and departed the area after about an hour.

Unbridled Islamic incitement

While Christian and Jewish prayer on the Temple Mount is not tolerated by the Islamic Authorities, Muslim clerics are free to foment hatred of the Jewish people and the State of Israel in weekly sermons in the mosques on the hill.

The Palestinian Authority-appointed Mufti of Jerusalem, Sheikh Ikrema Sabri, whose offices are situated inside the compound, has issued rulings upholding the longstanding practice banning the worship of any god other than Allah, the ancient Arabian moon god.

“It is forbidden for Muslims to permit non-Muslims to supervise, conduct services or pray in any part of the mosques or underneath them," he has said.

Sabri regularly stokes up rage against Israel and the United States while conducting Muslim Friday prayers for the thousands of Arabs freely permitted by Israel to attend the services.

Speaking in the Al Aqsa Mosque, Sabri has been recorded saying: “Oh Allah, destroy America! For she is ruled by Zionist Jews!! Allah shall take revenge on behalf of his prophet against the colonialist settlers who are sons of monkeys and pigs!! Forgive us, Mohammad, for the acts of these sons of monkeys and pigs, who sought to harm your sanctity!!”

Earlier this year, the official PA Radio broadcast live sermons from the Al Aqsa Mosque in which Sabri denounced the "criminal United States" and "rancorous Britain."

Sabri has appealed to Muslims everywhere “to stand as one rank, stop the aggression, and cleanse their territories of US military occupation…

“O Allah, make the plots of the aggressors backfire on them. O Allah, annihilate them to the last man. O Allah, protect Al-Aqsa Mosque from every evil. O Allah, protect Iraq and its people.”

While Sabri’s instatement as Mufti was in violation of the Oslo Accords, Israel has chosen not to make an issue of it.
