There is something new in Britain's mosques: a government-financed effort to teach basic citizenship issues in a special curriculum, written by a Bradford teacher, Sajid Hussain, 34, who holds a degree from Oxford. The British government hopes that such civics classes, which use the Koran to answer questions about daily life, will replace the sometimes hard-core religious lessons taught in many mosques across the land. An estimated 100,000 school-age Muslim children attend religious classes held at mosques in Britain daily. Muslim students "understand that it's wrong to go out and commit suicide bombings," Hussain said. "But some got really confused when you put jihad next to it. Jihad has got a sacred context, so things that were unacceptable became acceptable. We had to dig down to defuse the misconception."

I'm not dumb and far be it for me to think that I am above average in cognitive processing, but I will concede that I am at a loss why as London defends itself against heinous islamic behavior, London's Mayor Ken Livingstone defends it. Via Yahoo UK Ireland:

London Mayor Ken Livingstone called on Britons Saturday not to demonize Muslims after a double car bomb plot was foiled in the capital, amid fears of a Islamist terror threat.

"In this city, Muslims are more likely to be law-abiding than non-Muslims and less likely to support the use of violence to achieve political ends than non-Muslims," he told BBC Radio.

"They have played a good and active and growing role in creating a multi-cultural society," he added.

Shyeah, riiiight, Muslims are real advocates of multi-cultural diversity. What a joke. Now, I'm waiting for the inevitable: for the Jew-hating Brits to blame islamic terrorism on Israel. Of course, any kind of enlightenment or learning is unacceptable and is a threat to the darkness and ignorance that Londonistan thrives on. Too bad, though, because the last thing islamic extremists can tolerate is a population of thinking, educated people.

"Britain has become a base for training and teaching militant Islam," Cox declared.

Why are we witnessing a recurrent historical phenomenon, a different law for Jews - a unique and racist law - as opposed to all others? If human rights and human lives were what interested the British, they would devote much greater energy to what is happening in Darfur than to what is happening in the West Bank.

The British lecturers know the truth. They know that in Chechnya, for example, Putin's Russia wiped out tens of thousands of Muslims. They know that the Israeli army is the epitome of humanity compared to the Russian army. They know that in Central Europe, in Srebrenica, more Muslims were slaughtered in one week than have been killed in 40 years of Israeli occupation. They know that British soldiers, who control the Basra area in Iraq, and U.S. soldiers in Baghdad and in other areas, behave much less humanely than do the Israeli soldiers in the West Bank. They know that the Syrian regime brutally suppresses the Kurdish minority, and jails any intellectual who dares to open his mouth against the regime.

And, given this, they have not decided to boycott Russia, Britain, the USA or Syria. They have decided to boycott only Israel.

How is it that the Jews are again deserving of boycotts even though they did not perpetrate any crime against humanity, if we compare what other countries have done, including Britain, to what Israel is doing?

The good news is that things must be put into perspective. Two months ago I was present at some lectures in London in the framework of "Apartheid Week" that called, for example, for the destruction of Israel. Lo and behold - the lecture halls were nearly empty.

Most British know that the problem is not Palestine. The problem is Londonstan, which is being overrun by Islamists who declare vociferously: We want to raise the green flag [of Islam] over London.

Most alarming is the prospect of Muslim secessionist violence in the UK as in Kosovo, the Philippines, Thailand, and elsewhere. Now this is happening - apparently - in France. A radical Muslim preaching at Hyde Park Corner on 6 November called for what had happened in France to be repeated in Britain. He urged all Muslims to move into Muslim areas, after which any churches would be expelled. He told his audience that Europe had once been Muslim and called on them to make it Muslim again.
