Hermione’s Kitty Korner #22: Kitties and their Peeps, Don’t Miss the Cat Writers’ Association’s Virtual Awards Ceremony

Purrs. It’s Hermione. I am very excited that, this Saturday, August 8, at 7 pm EST, I’ll be able to view the Cat Writers’ Association’s Awards Ceremony with Debbie and my two brothers. This looks like such a pawsome event, and Debbie who has already won three Certificates of Excellence will learn if she’s also the winner of a lovely Muse Medallion or another great prize for her writing.

In addition to this great event, the Cat Writers will be raising money for a very good cause, the Tabby’s Place Cat Sanctuary. Every donation they receive up through August 17, will earn a chance at some perfect raffle prizes donated by sponsors. Further details about the fundraiser can be found here.

Paws crossed that Debbie wins another award. I’m so “purr”oud of her. All cats and people are invited to watch. You don’t have to be a member of the Cat Writers’ Association to view this special event. The awards ceremony will be streamed live on the CWA Public Facebook page. Sneaky’s Feature Friday Film: Blessing of the Animals

Debbie asked me to show these videos because she’ll be attending a Blessing of the Animals at her church this Sunday. As part of that service, pets who have left this Earthly plane for Rainbow Bridge or Pet Heaven will also be remembered.

The first video is one of the Fireside Chats that Debbie’s Pastor has been filming on important topics and the church’s view on them. This week’s topic was “Do all dogs (and cats) really go to heaven.” The other videos are of Blessings of the Animals at other churches that traditionally take place in October to honor the feast day of Saint Francis of Assisi, the patron saints of animals.

We just found out that today is National Kitten Day. If you know the story of our adoption and have kept up with our Kitty Korner columns, you’ll know that we’ll be turning one in just a few weeks and that our human, Debbie who also happens to be an author, is giving away two of her books for free in honor of our upcoming birthdays.
