Madame Butterfly
One day you’ll wash upon my shore
And smile and walk up as if you were here just yesterday
We will go back to where we left off
talking about the early summer rains or
late sun of June
And you’ll say you missed me even though you never really left me.
Midnight Rain
Today I am lonely
I do not have a thought in my mind
but for my lonesomeness
I crave a fellow soul
I thirst for sweet passion
I am lonely today
and I act as a dead poet would
I weep at cherished memories
I sob at moments lost
I want to walk in midnight rain
let it soak me
let it fill
my empty heart.
I am lonely today
I curse life and wish to die
if only I never dreamed,
desired,
loved.
Oh cruel life you may walk past me,
But do not look back at the shadow you missed
for I no more need you
than a Brahman needs proof of God.
I am alone today
But the only desired midnight rain falls
from my short-sighted eyes.
Monarch
Reigning monarch
Paints over blue
Clusters of royal gold
and orange brew
mixtures of life
start over new.
Desperation
I miss you today…The colors today are dull
The sun is dimmed
The place where you used to be
Is dark and cold;
The days are long and lonely without you
When will you come back to me?
How long do I have to suffer?
Return back the brightness to my days
Steal away the darkness that haunts my nights
Fill up this ugly silence with your beautiful laughs
I miss you today
