On today's Christmas cards I used patterned paper.

Rumbling through my stash to find suitable papers is fun to do :)

Twee kerstkaartjes gemaakt met gedessineerd papier in de hoofdrol.

Mooie papiertjes uitzoeken is een heel tof werkje :)

To cut the trees I used an ECD die.

I sponged the edges of the card and the trees with Distress Ink.

De bomen uitgesneden met behulp van een ECD stans.

De randen van de kaart en van elke boom gesponsd met Distress Inkt.

I attached handmade paper to the background of this card.

Op de achtergrond van deze kaart handgeschept papier geplakt.

I kept all the other elements white, except for the strip of glitter tape.

Alle elementen op de voorgrond wit gehouden, behalve het reepje glitter tape.

Christmas Ephemera

 

I made this set of cards using images from a Tim Holtz Ephemera Pack.

Met afbeeldingen uit een Christmas Ephemera Pack van Tim Holtz deze set  kaarten gemaakt.

Although the images are vintage I didn't want to make vintage cards. That's why I've chosen to work with colorful backgrounds.

Ondanks de vintage plaatjes wilde ik er toch niet helemaal vintage kaarten van maken. Daarom koos ik voor felgekleurde achtergronden.

I mixed and matched images from the pack in combination with white trees and Tim Holtz Quote Chips.

Allerlei afbeeldingen uit de set gecombineerd samen met witte bomen en Tim Holtz Quote Chips.

I've cut the backgrounds out of gel prints I made during the year.

De achtergronden sneed ik uit eerder gemaakte gel prints.

Last year I made Christmas tags using the same kind of vintage images.

First Sights of Spring

After watching one of Dina Wakley's daily demo's I made a bunch of backgrounds using paint and stencils. Today's card was done with one of these backgrounds.

Na het bekijken van één van Dina Wakley's dagelijkse filmpjes maakte ik een hele reeks achtergronden met verf en stencils. Voor de kaart van vandaag één van deze achtergronden gebruikt.

I overstamped the background using a new ECD stamp.

De achtergrond overstempeld met een nieuwe ECD stempel.

As Dina taught us I used 3 elements (next to the focal image) to finish off the stenciled background: die cuts, splatters and tissue paper.

Dina raadt aan om voor het afwerken van een achtergrond niet meer dan 3 elementen te gebruiken. Ik koos voor die cuts, witte spetters en strookjes tissue papier.

On the background of this card I used patterned paper by Heidi Swapp. I started by adhering a strip of washi tape to the paper.

Voor de achtergrond van dit kaartje gedessineerd papier van Heidi Swapp gebruikt. Begonnen met het opplakken van een reepje tape.

The car as well as the trees were made using ECD dies. I colored the trees and some parts of the car with paint. 

De auto en bomen op deze kaart sneed ik uit met ECD stansen. De bomen en sommige onderdelen van de auto kregen een laagje verf.

Christmas Tags

On these tags I used a bunch of images from a Tim Holtz Christmas Ephemera Pack.

Met een aantal kerstplaatjes uit een Tim Holtz Christmas Ephemera Pack aan de slag gegaan.

I printed the tags last September, during a gel printing challenge on Instagram.

De labels maakte ik in september, toen ik deelnam aan een gel printing challenge op Instagram.

I adhered a strip of handmade paper to the bottom of each tag. The white trees were done with ECD dies.

Op elk label plakte ik onderaan een restje handgeschept papier. De bomen zijn gemaakt met stansen van ECD.

The bold colors of the gel prints do match well with the vintage images.

De felle kleuren van de gel prints contrasteren mooi bij de vintage plaatjes.

I decorated each tag with buttons...

Elk label versierd met knopen...

...and a stamped text by Darkroom Door.

...en een gestempelde wens van Darkroom Door.

I added a flower to each tag. 

Elk label kreeg een bloem.

For each flowers I punched 4 circles out of tissue paper. I colored the tissue paper using Dylusions Ink Sprays.

Voor de bloemen telkens 4 rondjes uit tissue papier geponst. Het tissue papier kleurde ik met Dylusions Ink Sprays.

The Santa on this tag is a gift tag I bought at a Sostrene Grene shop.

De kerstman op dit label is eigenlijk een cadeaulabeltje, gekocht bij Sostrene Grene.

A Vintage Christmas

Tonight I have a new blogpost over at the PaperArtsy blog. For the current topic  'A Vintage Christmas' I made 2 spreads in my new ECD planner. I prepared 2 days for my December Daily Journal using mainly PaperArtsy JOFY stamps. 

Vanavond ben ik weer aan de beurt op PaperArtsy blog met een nieuwe blogpost. Voor het thema 'A Vintage Christmas' maakte ik 2 spreads in mijn nieuwe ECD planner. Ik ben van plan om een December Daily Journal bij te houden, ik maakte al de basis voor een paar dagen. Ik gebruikte voornamelijk PaperArtsy JOFY stempels.

To create the backgrounds I used stencils, modeling paste, Tim Holtz Collage Medium Crazing, masking fluid, paint.....

Voor het maken van de achtergronden gebruikte ik stencils, structuurpasta, Tim Holtz Collage Medium Crazing, maskeervloeistof, verf.....

  To add a vintage feel to the pages I applied a glazing technique.

Om de pagina's er wat verweerd te laten uitzien paste ik een glazing techniek toe. 

I worked with Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics in a green/blue and pink/orange color combination.

Ik werkte met Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics in een groen/blauwe en roze/oranje kleurencombinatie.

On this page I created a pocket that holds 2 tags.

Op deze pagina een pocket gemaakt waar 2 labels in passen.

 During the month of December I'll add journaling, keepsakes and small photos.

In december ga ik dan nog tekst, kleine foto's en eventueel andere souvenirs toevoegen.

After stenciling and stamping I attached a strip of washi tape to the bottom of the tag. Did some stamping on top. 

Na het stencilen en stempelen een strookje washi tape op het label geplakt en daar nog een tekstje overheen gestempeld.

Looking for matching ribbon for the tag toppers is always fun to do!

Bijpassende lintjes zoeken om de labels te versieren is een leuk werkje!

Here's the second spread I made. The large words on the left were heat embossed with white embossing powder. The embossing worked as a resist for the paint.

Hier de tweede spread die ik maakte. De grote woorden links werden na het stempelen bewerkt met wit embossing poeder. Het embossing poeder werkt als een resist voor de verf.

Love the white speckles that appeared after rubbing away the masking fluid.

De kleine witte stipjes kwamen tevoorschijn na het wegboenen van de maskeervloeistof. 

JOFY stamps don't look vintage at all so I had to add a few elements to achieve a vintage look. I worked with torn strips of paper, vintage ribbon, snow, frayed fabric...this is my kind of vintage :)

JOFY stempels zien er helemaal niet vintage uit. Ik moest dus een aantal elementen toevoegen om een vintage look te bekomen. Ik werkte met gescheurd papier, oud lint, sneeuw, gerafelde stof....net genoeg vintage om nog te passen bij mijn stijl :)

I even used decorative paper edge scissors to imitate an old photo.

Om een oude foto te imiteren ook een kartelschaartje gebruik.
