Nemo v2.4.0 (pre-release)

Nemo v2.4.0 beta has been released!

The new version proposes an extended version of the quantitative traits and an increase of performances when modelling large genetic maps in Wright-Fisher populations.

The new features include:

  • complex genotype-phenotype maps for multiple quantitative traits
    • pleiotropy can vary from locus to locus, allowing for independent to completely integrated phenotypes
    • loci can have additive, dominance and pair-wise epistatic effects
    • two allelic models are proposed: di-allelic (QTN) or infinite-allele model (continuum-of-allele model for QTL)
  • phenotypic plasticity
    • plasticity is modeled after linear norms of reaction (z = g0 + g1 * (e - g2))
    • phenotypic values depend on values of environmental cues (e), which may or may not mirror phenotypic optimum values
    • plasticity can evolve when the slope (g1) of the nor-s are linked to quantitative traits
  • better support for Wright-Fisher populations (constant population size and random mating)
    • improved simulation performances
    • support for dispersal and selection in WF populations
  • better overall performances for simulation of large genetic maps
    • recombination algorithm has been revised and optimized for increased performances when multiple traits (types of genetic elements) are placed on the same genetic map
    • allows for any number of chromosomes

Nemo v2.3 released

Nemo version 2.3 has been released!

Packages with Windows and MaxOSX executables are available on the download page.

WHAT'S NEW IN v2.3?

  • A recombination map holding loci from multiple traits.
  • A new trait coding for Dobzhansky-Muller incompatibility loci.
  • Selection may act on multiple types of loci under selection (QTL, DMI, deleterious mutations)
  • An unlimited number of quantitative traits can be modelled, with pleiotropic loci.
  • The patterns of selection affecting quantitative traits can vary spatially and temporally among populations.

Nemo v2.3.0 (pre-release)

A pre-release version of Nemo, v2.3.40 [21 Apr 2015], has just been added to the project and is available for download.

The new features are:

o a recombination map holding loci from multiple traits under various forms of selection

o Dobzhanski-Muller incompatibility loci

o multi-trait viability selection (was restricted to a single trait before)

o and many more, see the released files

Nemo version 2.0.0 released

This is the first official release of Nemo, version 2.0.0. Nemo is a C++ developing framework and simulation software aimed at the study of life-history trait evolution and population genetics in an individual-based, genetically and spatially explicit, stochastic simulation framework. The complete code documentation and coding guidelines for the development of new evolutionary models using Nemo are available at http://nemo2.sourceforge.net . Binaries for Mac OS X and Win32 are available for download at http://sourceforge.net/project/nemo2 .
