Hi, I searched the whole GCSM code, there is no word “Weeks” anywhere in the code, neither in the application code, nor in the installation code (Wix) nor in the UnitTests. So this is for sure NOT coming from GCSM, otherwise Thousands of other users would have the same problem, and I checked it on my PC, there is no Weeks folder under my Trash. Sorry for the bad news. Hope you find the problem in any other constellation. BR, Flo

Deleted Email Subfolder Reappearing

I am not aware of any subfolder that Go Contact sync creates. Maybe this is a side effect, but as of my knowledge not connected with GoContact sync. If you need further support, I need to know, what is the subfolder name?! and why it disturbs, if it is anyway created under Trash?

yes, that is true. But this timeline was already adjusted several times. In 2023 it was said 2+ years, now it is 2025 and still not disappeared, actually the classic Outlook is still standard in many companies, as the one I am working in. So maybe they will even prolong it after 2029. But we try to work on a new fork for this GCSM new to support Outlook web services as well, but I think we need some volunteers to do so, because I am currently quite busy with other (business and private) tasks

Hi Rob, as mentioned above, this is NOT true. Traditional Outlook is still working. If you switched to new Outlook (e.g. to try it out), you can easily switch back, just click the button on the upper right of the new Outlook

Hmm, but it runs fine on my Win10 and now Win11. Why shouldn't it run properly with this setting? And what is your advice, how to replace this setting?

I deleted it. And it works on my side, unfortunately no indication in the log, what happens. Maybe too less memory? I have no clue, what this can cause. Maybe you have to review your contacts and fix suspective entries

GCSM also should work with every Outlook supporting Interop/Com. It cannot work with the Web Version (Outlook new). Currently it works fine with my Outlook 365 installation, whcih is using always the latest version of Outlook, but you must use the traditional way with profiles and Interop possibility

GO Contact Sync Mod can't find Outlook contacts and calendar folders, even default ones

patch cannot be used, because otherwise it will scan through all folders, even multiple recursive folders within mails, and this will cause big performance lag in case of big folder structures. But I used the second proposal to add default folders on demand. If there are any contacts or appointments below a calendar folder, please move them up to a root folder with type Appointments/Calendar or Contacts, so that it can be properly scanned thrugh. The version covering this will be 4.2.1

Did you try with newest version 4.2? And did you try to remove one of your Outlook accounts/profiles (you are having 2 accounts, maybe this is the problem?) And Office2007 is already very old and as far as I know NOT supported by Microsoft anymore. Can you try to update to newer (supported) Office version?

The logging is in the text box on the right side of the settings, and there should be also the link of your logfile. In your case it looks like you try to sync the same gmail contacts and appointments. This is not, how it is intended. The intention of GCSM is to sync a Microsoft Outlook account (e.g. outlook.com or outlook.de or live.com or hotmail.com, etc) into a Google Account.

there was no change on GCSM for quite some while (maybe several months) and I am NOT experiencing this behavior, and I am adminstrating many PCs in my family. This seems to be a setting on your side. Maybe it is because an Error pops up? Do you have "Report result in system tray" checked in the settings form?

Hi, the sync is triggered, if there are new items or the last syncdate is before the last update of the work item, with a tolerance of 2 minutes, to avoid time diff inconsistencies. But there could be updates on Google side (e.g. when Google das an update or an Email is received by one of the synchronized contacts), or on Exchange side by your company, which might trigger a sync.

PST is only an Outlook file to backup Emails to (or if you still use POP3). OST is for IMAP and Exchange, because there is always a local copy + server copy which are synchronized based on your settings. I don't think, they will completely remove the old Outlook approach with Exchange connection. Therefore I don't see any urgent activity here, even though it would be appreciated, if there might be developers adding the "Outlook new" interface to this GCSM. But I'm afraid this cannot be combined with...
